I'm a Battery Bill's fan, I've been one for years so when my car died at Target I knew where to go to get it replaced. Two years ago I had my car in at Lex Brodies for its annual service and safety check and when I asked them why the mileage service indicator hadn't been changed they said it most likely was because the battery was low and should be replaced.....cost $400. Ah I said not this week mainly because I had no warning that it was low or drag starting the car. Two years later...still no warning but after a Costco run, a park stop with Mimi and an afternoon run to Target my car was dead in the pickup parking lot. Now that warning light was flashing...what kind of warning was that? Called Battery Bill's and was told they had moved from the Mapunapuna location, closing that store and the Nimitz store incorporating both locations into a "superstore" in north Kalihi. Easy to find once I got my son, his jumper cables and his jeep to start me, I drove to Moonui Street. Right on the corner of Waikamilo & Moonui across from the Texaco just pulled into the lot, walked into the store and told the associate why, what and how I came to be there. They asked me to pull into an open bay and a young man came out, tested my battery advising it was indeed gasping. I was as surprised as he was when he told me it was the original battery that came when I purchased the car in 2019. No wonder they said two years previously I might need a replacement. At that point I was told to go back into the store and they would tell me all the options available. I went with the Battery Bill's brand as I had it previously in my Jaguar and my husband's corvette. Paid a total of $159 which included installation. Have heard of Battery Bill's through their many commercials and catchy jingle but have avoided them thinking the prices would be crazy. I was pleasantly surprised they were not. Came time when the drugstores i usually buy at no longer carried my "specialty" remote battery. Finding Battery Bill's in the industrial area of Mapunapuna was easy. They are located in the same strip where Wholesale Unlimited is housed. The only challenge is parking. I squeezed into a non-parking space leaving passenger in car. My Dad first started to go to Battery Bill's due to the frequent and unannounced rolling HECO blackouts in Honolulu. He ended up getting some Photovoltaic panels to charge two large battery power sources. That way in case of a power outage, he can still keep the refrigerator cool and charge devices. It's quite a big investment but if it gives my parents peace of mind, you just can't put a price on it. I have an old; but working perfectly, Eveready Waterproof/Floating Lantern that uses the large 6 volt Spring Top Battery, that has been discontinued by Rayovac Battery and Duracell. Only the Eveready/Energizer Battery company (Eveready 6 Volt is Zinc Oxide, and the Energizer is Alkaline) continues to manufacture them. I live in upper Lower Punchbowl and; although Lowe's has 10 in stock today, I would have to drive all the way to their Waipahu store, to buy one for the "jacked up" price of almost $16.As usual = Battery Bill's saved the day as they had the Energizer 6 Volt Alkaline for $5 less than Lowe's. Even better than that... their "new" (actually they combined their inventory for the 2 small former stores on Nimitz Hwy and out in Mapunapuna that are now closed) Super Store is nearby in Kalihi - not out in far away (for me) Waipahu! Also - don't know why but if you have noticed; like I have that the chain store mentioned, plus the others. Hook-line- and sinker! Drove up with a weak battery. Guy said they can test it for me. Claimed the battery was no good and couldn't be recharged. Gives me a price on a battery and starts to change it. SUPER! When I go up to pay, it's $30+ more than I was just quoted. Come to find out, it was the cost to be installed. I would've taken that battery home and changed it myself. He then Tells me that they have to keep my old battery too. We all need to recharge at some point... When it comes to our many of our beloved items that keeps our lives flowing especially ones that has been a part of us for awhile it might be a challenge to search for that exact battery we need. Well we had such an item that needed help our cordless landline phone. Super back in the day it was purchased at Radio Shack ya and we did purchase batteries here and there where there were still quite a few electronic stores who sold them, fast forward to 2022...to be honest it could be the phone that's no longer working lol but the first thing we tried was looking for the batteries to replace it. Battery Bills on Nimitz was the only place I thought of that could possible have it so I gave it a try, upon driving up the clerk instantly greeted me and checked to find the right one. It took just a moment and poof there it was, the clerk said it was her first time seeing a pack from Radio Shack haha aahhh nostalgia makes me feel so old but told me if the battery isn't the right one to return in within seven days and if it's the right one it has a warranty of 90 days...how cool! Everything is all done from outside no one is to enter the shop and I learned that you can bring in your car if the battery is dying and they'll replace and install it for you...did you know that!? All at the best possible cost and I believe that because the battery replacement we got was just a fraction of the cost we got from years ago. I am very upset. I called to see if they carried the battery I needed. When I called, I gave the product item iLife Vacuum. Then the model number A9. The person on the phone asked for the model number of the battery. Therefore I read it off the battery's label. Then the person asked if it was a 14volt, I said yes 14.4. He then said he has 9. I was so happy. Told him I'll be there. From Ewa Beach to Ahua street is roughly 23-25 miles. When I got there it was not the battery I needed. Say "WHAT?" I couldn't believe I drove round trip almost 50 miles to hear they don't have the right battery‼ Very upsetting. That's the MAIN, most IMPORTANT REASON Why I called first. I am so happy with Battery Bill's. Before finding Battery Bill's I had to deal with chain stores, bad service, batteries that "die hard" and were overpriced. I had to guess what kind of battery I needed by looking in a book or by carrying in my battery in a parking lot of a mall or something. Now I just go to Battery Bill's and ask them if they can check my alternator or battery and get a new battery right then and there. The amazing part is that you can get all kinds of batteries - like computer batteries or weird 12V UPS batteries etc... They know their stuff and it's just the best experience when you need a battery. But for a car battery, they reign supreme. No BS and great prices!!!! A couple of minor changes. For car batteries they sell the battery with a 1 year warranty and the extra years is an add-on for basically the same price as before. For COVID days, you cannot enter the store; there's a window to the right. So bring your tired and weary batteries here for a great price and local owned store! read more

I bought my battery back in 2022, it was the top of the line Battery performance. Paid 400 bucks for it. I went away for vacation, came home the first thing I did is to start up my vehicle. Unfortunately, may car it didn't start. I took out the battery and brought it to Battery Bills in Mapunapuna side. I spoke to an older lady, she tested the battery, again very unfortunately, it was way bellow than expected. Then she recommended that they will charge it over night hoping it will be full charge the next day. Next day I came to pick it up, same lady who helped me she just told me that my battery is dead! So then I ask if it covers on the warranty?! She said the warranty is VOID!!! Because when I came in, the battery is way bellow 11.5 so therefore the warranty is completely VOID...!!! How in the world would I know when to bring the battery down and making sure not bellow 11.5??! EXTREMELY VERY DISAPPOINTING...!!! Also, no accountability and accommodation for their customer... They're not a friendly CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL...!!! My battery had been only for 2 years and on top of that, it was the top of the line battery I paid for yet, they would not do anything for it.
