Love my local WinCo! Their prices are really good. Sometimes their prices are much better than the big box stores that have groceries. I absolutely love the bulk food bins. Sometimes you just want a certain amount of a product and that is the best way to go. They have a fresh sushi bar! Unfortunately they are always out of spicy tuna so I haven't gotten sushi there in quite a while. If they had spicy tuna on the shelf I'd buy sushi every time I was shopping there. One thing that I like about the produce department is that they have fresh vegetables. They're vegetables are not inexpensive but they're good and I like that they always have eggplant. I never see artichokes there though. Their fruit department has something left to be desired. The only consistent tasting fruits are apples and oranges. Most of the time their offerings of berries and tomatoes are tasteless or old. That being said, this is still the best place to go for most of your groceries. You will save oodles of money if you shop here on a consistent basis. It's awesome that it's an employee owned company! You would think that would give the employees a better attitude but unfortunately there are not that many smiling faces working there. I wonder what goes on behind the scenes with management. All in all, I sure hope WinCo isn't leaving the area anytime soon. No place is perfect and despite some of the issues they have I would be very sad if I couldn't go shopping there anymore. read more

Big fan of the employee owned market. Price on canned dog food was good compared to local, smaller store. Now Winco won't enforce the state Covid mask mandates requiring employees and customers to wear masks, but cashier was wagging her finger at me for putting my meats on the conveyer belt in an insulated bag. ''Didn't I see the sign as I was walking in ? There are lots of signs by the door and I didn't stop and spend 10 minutes studying them. So you can spew your Covid germs all over the store but Winco only draws the line at the conveyer belt thing. So says the cashier not wearing a mask. Go figure, I won't be back until this pandemic is long gone. (I wrote this over five years ago and I still won't go back ). And thank you to Costco and Trader Joe's , who place a higher value on the health and safety of their employees and customers. read more

I love doing my grocery shopping at WinCo Foods. They have some of the best prices in town. Best of all, they're open 24/7. They've saved me on many late nights when I forgot to buy something my kids needed to bring to school the next morning. The staff has always been friendly and helpful anytime I'm "blind" and can't find something. My son loves their pizza, although I think it's often overcooked. The store is always clean and very organized. My only gripe is that I wish they would let us use credit cards so I could get rewards for my groceries. read more

I like shopping this store but the produce department is slacking a bit on their produce and their customer service skills really suck!! While I was in there, they were two employees working the produce section one was a female who was playing some music and the other one was a little smaller gentlemen, but neither one of them acknowledged any of the customers that were in that area, nor did they offer any help not a SMILE not asking did you find everything OK. Then I walked around and I saw some fruit that had mold on it. Avocados had white the gross stuff on it the celery I know they have no control over it but the celery it's like three little stocks in a bag, but the celery looked. Nasty looked dirty like they should've at least put it in a clearance section of throw it out or something. Most of my shopping is done in the produce section because I'm a vegan, but I've been very disappointed my last few visits, between the running fruit and the lack of respect to acknowledge your customers is quite disappointing. Maybe they need to realize that if it wasn't for the customer, they wouldn't have a paycheck. Maybe they need to think about that the next time they want to be rude or nasty and give their customers the cold shoulder.. I did have one employee that was actually very nice. I do love this place BUT THEY NEED TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON CHECKING OUT AT NIGHT! If it's 24 hours and you consistently get business and lines then HIRE OR EMPLOY MORE CHECKERS. There was an issue and the entire line backed up with at least 15 people and the poor cashier couldn't stop to help the person. So the person had to leave the groceries and the entire line got backed up and the cashier looks stressed. That person couldn't deliver their groceries to an elderly disabled person. It was a fiasco all because they didn't have another person in line. And then the food just sat there because nobody could come assist and the person walked out because they were not getting helped. I just had to shake my head because the cashier couldn't do anything Manager wasn't coming over and the person couldn't pay because the manager needed to approve something. Hot mess! read more

I so much wanted to like the combo pizza I purchased at the kiosk but it wasn't too good. First off it was under baked as the dough was a bit gummy. I then added more cheese, pepperoni, onions and jalapeños to spruce it up but it was lacking sauce as well. The pizza was $7.99 before taxes and the drop in price meant a drop in quality. I remember when the pizza was $9.99 or $10.99 and it was much better. I am giving 3 stars because the customer service was very good. read more

The night before Valentine's Day, I had to get my kiddo a little gift for his Valentine. I found a cute box of candy and a chocolate rose for less than $2. If you are ballin' on a budget, Winco may be a great place for you to go grocery shopping. I have found some pretty good deals here with the green tag/clearance prices (picture) throughout the year or near/on holidays. Awesome place for your grocery needs! The store is very spacious and they have almost everything you could possibly need. Everything is labeled on the signs of each aisle so it's simple to locate the ingredients you need. The place itself is a bit old and outdated, but quite clean which I liked. We needed meat and seafood and were really glad with the selection that they had. The prices were very affordable considering the quality of the meat! I almost didn't interact with any workers, but someone finally asked if I needed help. I really appreciated it because it was my first time there and I was looking for the milk. There were so many registers that were opened so we were able to quickly checkout. Overall, really great and I plan on returning again for my next grocery store run! read more

The night shift is unprepared and rude it's only our second time visiting since moving down here but both times we spent over $100. This time they didn't have any change my change was supposed to be 97 cents and they made a big scene on not having change to give me even though I offered to pay in card because the line was being held up by the senior employees bashing on the younger cashier. Not only embarrassing us but the cashier as well! They ended up keeping my change over them being short on 3 cents... even the customers behind us stopped us outside to tell us how ridiculous the entire situation was. Employee owned, hmmmmm! That model sure does not motivate the employees in this store to practice good customer service. I needed some assistance in the deli section and was ignored by everyone (I counted 3 employees behind the counter) and the only one that said a word to me was the guy cooking chicken. "I will be with you in a moment", says he. A moment to this guy was like 5 minutes. Would the others try to help? Hell no, they were to busy not helping customers to even lift their heads. Check out was almost as bad. The lady that was doing check out did not say a word until the end and only said "how many bags did you use". She only wanted to make sure she can get the 40 cents off me for using 4 bags. The Winco discounts don't make up for the poor customer service, the fact you have to bag your own groceries and the inconvenience of them not accepting credit cards for purchase. Debit and cash only at check out. No triple reward points, no nothing, just cash or debit. Another gripe, the discounts are not much and in some cases Stater Bros is cheaper. The one plus with this store, yes it was not all bad, is that their st louis pork ribs are cut good and very affordable. There, I had something good to say about Winco. Will I venture back to this store? Time will tell, perhaps yes, perhaps no, the world may never know. read more

Oh, heck no. If you've never experienced a Winco, then the best way I can describe it is to say that Winco is a grim, more depressing version of Costco. I wasn't prepared for the bleakness when I stepped into this Winco in Temecula. The lights in this grocery store are stark and bright, and not unlike the lights in an interrogation room. The food is displayed in the boxes that they were delivered in, so you feel like you're gathering rations off of a delivery truck. Winco only takes cash or debit -- not credit cards. What the heck? Is this 2022? What decade am I living in? Also: There are no bags. You need to carry your items out in your arms, or gathered in your shirt like a peasant, or in bags that you brought from home. I think people visit Winco because the prices are cheaper if you're buying things in bulk, like at Costco. But I didn't find the prices for non-bulk items, like a gallon of whole milk, any cheaper than a regular grocery store. And it's kind of annoying to be forced to buy bigger versions of items when you just want a regular size. For instance, I just wanted to get a regular 24-pack of bottled water, but Winco only sells bottled water in packs of 36. So, of course, I'm paying more for more water that I didn't want. It's all just incredibly annoying. The whole vibe of Winco was strange, and I just wanted to get out of the store as quickly as possible. That being said, I know there are some Winco stans out there, so if you're not as concerned about grocery store ambiance, then you might like Winco more than I did. The store itself was very neat and clean, and things were tidy and lined up. I think if you're a Winco head, you would enjoy this particular location because it was very organized. read more

For basic staples Winco is a good choice, at least price wise. Just expect limited choices and lots of generic store brands. Bakery items are sub-par and deli meats are low quality, especially the Bar-S brand. Produce is just okay also. My biggest gripe is that selection is very limited. This place may have the worst customer service in Temecula. I am a local business owner and have spent thousands of dollars at this god forsaken place (regrettably). Each time I come in it seems to get worse. Tonight I came in around 8:15 pm, picked up what I needed and wanted to go through the self checkout lane. There's was LITERALLY no one there. The employee who was manning the self checkout was literally dancing at their post (I am not kidding). She sees me and runs over like there's a fire and rudely kicked me out of self checkout bc I had more than 15 items in my cart.....perhaps I could understand if it was peak hour and there were ppl in line but that wasn't the case. If you have never been inside a Winco you are truly missing out on grocery life. Winco has been one of my favorite stores and so sad that San Diego does not have 1 still. The bins are back, where you can buy whatever (well almost whatever) you need in bulk... From coffee, to candy, to flower, to nuts, dog food, pasta you name it it is probably in a bin to buy in as big as you need or as little as you need. I have never had an issue with any of the employees as they've all been friendly encounters, and while the store is extremely big and the parking lot may be full at times at times you will not be toe to toe with somebody down the aisle. They have self check out some that accept cards only and some that accept both cash and card. Not everything is a steel deal at this location but most items are a lot cheaper than you would find at your local brand named grocery store. This location is off the main strip in Temecula and busy no matter the time of day. Give them a walk through! You won't be disappointed. The have a hot food case and pizza meal deals in the front of the store! read more

Probably my last trip to WinCo ever thanks to Corinne who works at self checkout. I had about 25 items, had waited in line and walked to a self checkout as I have social anxiety and prefer it. She tells me self checkout is for 15 items. Ok, how do i get to the other line? She tells me to walk back through the long line of customers. The girls about three people behind me had just as many items and she was allowed to check out. Next time see what is in your customers best interest, not your own, because tonight's customer service was NOT it. Do better and don't embarrass your customers next time for a simple mistake. I was just buying multiple packs of the same halloween candy and would have taken me minutes. And if one person gets in trouble corrine, everyone has to, or it just seems targeted. read more

Stopped by here omw to San Diego but went to their Perris location first. Perris didn't have the Skrewball whiskey I was on a mission for, so I called Temecula as I left Perris. The lady said they do have it so ended up getting them here. Was hoping they had it in stock because it's a long party weekend and with that the good stuff usually goes fast. I saw it here before a few weeks ago so I was hoping they would have some. Arrived about 15 min later and yay! They had about 8 stocked on the shelf so I grabbed 2. Price went up by a buck since the last time I came a few weeks ago, but still cheaper than anywhere else at 20.98 a pop! Grabbed some Reese's to go with them and checked out easy as pie. Glad it wasn't crowded as I got there around 8pm. Lots of parking in the huge lot and prices are lower than other grocery stores. Bring your own bags and bag your stuff, or pay for theirs. read more

This review has been way long overdue. We have been doing our grocery shopping here since the store opened on 10.18.2004. Sharing a brief historical background of WinCo, in 1967, the warehouse-style grocery was started by two businessmen Ralph Ward and Bud Williams from Boise, Idaho. At the time it was called Waremart. In 1985, when the founder of Waremart passed away, the employees were uncertain of the future of the company. The company structure of offering bulked goods from a variety of selections at a reasonable price was later turned into an employee-owned company. This new business concept allowed loyal employees to have the opportunity to join the Employee Stock Ownership Plan; also known as the ESOP, thereby saving the company they learned to love and continue to serve their loyal customers. Around this time, the company was named WinCo. Fast forward, WinCo became very successful and started branching out from Boise and later opened stores in California in 2002 then one opened in Temecula in 10.2004. Everything we can think of buying is always available at this WinCo. The shelves are organized and fully stocked. The store in itself is 5.0, but sadly, a few of the staff lacked the motivation to offer customers that extra pleasant approach to lend them a hand. We mostly come here to buy the meats, seafood, vegetables and a few other food items for the house and they mostly have unbeatable prices. read more

This is my go-to place for groceries, at least once a week. You won't beat their prices especially on pantry staples and produce. The deli meats are excellent for sandwiches and very reasonable as opposed to deli's in other supermarkets. My favorite corner however is the bulk section, where you'll find anything you need in whatever amount you want to buy. I replenish my spice rack from their selections every November as I can afford to buy just what I need as opposed to a jar of a well known brand that costs 3 times as much and that I won't use all of. Then I am ready with fresh spices every year for holiday baking. I've even gifted young brides a set of common spices from their selections, as they have the containers for them as well. read more

Excellent prices on food and especially adult drinks! Bring cash... Parking is easy. Location is two lights off from the freeway exit. Lines move quickly and their associates are all super friendly. I'll be back again when in need of something quick. A much better option then hitting up a convenience store and their convenience store premium prices. I really prefer shopping this Winco than the one on Ethanac in Perris. It's further out & kinda a hassle w/traffic both freeway & side streets but worth the pain getting here to avoid the long long lines at Perris. Plus this ones a lot nicer, clean & organized. They seem to have more fresh foods as I got similar deli items at the other & this was way better quality. I thought they were all equal, but nope locations make a big difference. Parking lots big & it's safer area, no sketchy people roaming behind the cars. read more
