The naming of this place is certainly entertaining but I think 88 ranch falls much more than 11 points from 99 ranch. It's pretty old in here, everything looks quite outdated but still functional. Lighting is more yellow and dark, and it just looks like this place is due for a remodel. Otherwise, they have a lot of good options for drinks and groceries - not super comprehensive but good enough! I picked up a Pocari sweat - it was $7.99 for a big bottle. read more

The ONLY place l can buy Banana Kick. Which I appreciate and haven't been able to find outside VA. Unfortunately I cannot review the claw machines on their own merit, or it would be a 1 star review. But do yourself a favor and skip the cute claw machines in front. Such a scam. The claws don't grasp anything. You could have it entirely over the prize and there is still no way it will have the strength to grab it and hold it. Such a frustrating scam. No wonder why no one was playing them. I also put $10 into the machine for the tokens so if I had known that before doing so, or only after sacrificing $1 vs $10, it wouldn't have been as bad. But alas, I lost $10 because l had no idea. It wasn't one single machine either. I gave my kids most of the coins and helped them but it was clearly set on ALL the machines to not let anyone win. Whoever owns these machines should have their business taken from them. It's false advertising. I say this as someone who wins at these machines all the time but if the claw has no strength, you'll lose EVERY time. That's the situation here. Avoid the machines. This grocery store has really improved over the last year or so. Cleaner, better organized, lots of Asian staples and options. Decently fair prices. The new owners really turned this spot around. I'm so grateful to have this grocery store locally. We come here often to stock up on all our pantry items, Asian ice creams, Korean corn dogs. I buy kaffir lime leaves often from here too. The shopping cart set up is like Aldi's. You need a quarter to get a cart. Kind of a pain since I don't carry much change on me anymore by someone's there will be carts in the cart return area and you can grab one there. They have everything you need to find here for Asian groceries from seasonings, condiments, fresh vegetables, frozen items, a butcher section that also fries fish for you, a hot takeout food store inside, dried goods, anything you need. It seems they're the only place around here since it's the biggest and only main one. I come from San Diego where you can simply go to plenty of grocery stores. I will say they are pricey and if you can, stock up on your items elsewhere. Other than that this is the only option for now that has everything. The 88 Ranch Marketplace, not to be confused with 99 Ranch, is a sight for sore eyes especially living far away from all the stores between LA and San Diego-I don't believe there are anything close to these stores in the Inland Empire. That said, they have most of the Asian staples you need to make those special dishes you crave. Lots of treats you won't find everywhere and a huge seafood section fresh! When there is no 99 ranch and Hmart, this is the next best store! It's not bad, has a good variety of all your asian needs. Between this one and Island Pacific - you can generally find what you need. I haven't tried any of the meat/seafood here, but we have bought produce for hotpot, got our instant noodles, sauces and KIMCHI!! For some reason I'm so in love with Mama's kimchi. It's sooo yum. This is right next to 85 degrees, so it's a perfect one stop shop. I loooove seeing this oriental store here in Temecula! I'm sure they're very popular with the Asians here so they don't have to drive out to LA/OC. There's a small Filipino bakery inside the marketplace as soon as you enter with so many options for ready made goodies to go. I was blown away by how much they had available for the size of the building everything was in. From fresh produce, seafood and meat counter, ready made foods, to home goods, 88 ranch has everything. I was able to pick up a few staples for my household while here vs driving all the way to San Diego for my regular restock of Asian products. Pricing was also very reasonable, I feel some of these markets tend to have higher prices the further from most Asian districts you go, but 88 Ranch was extremely comparable to other staples. If I'm in the area I absolutely will be coming back! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at 88 Ranch Market and felt compelled to share it so management and other customers are aware. First, I went to the seafood section to purchase Manila clams. There were two employees behind the counter and only one customer ahead of me, yet I had to stand there for quite a while before anyone acknowledged me. I eventually had to raise my hand just to get someone's attention. When the employee finally started getting the clams, he was taking his time chatting in another language with the other worker while I was clearly waiting. It gave the impression that customers waiting didn't matter and that if you couldn't wait, you could just leave. Second, the experience at the checkout was just as frustrating. The two female employees at the counter I selected-- a cashier and a bagger. I told them that I needed bags and also asked the bagger not to make the bags too heavy because I would have difficulty carrying them to my cart. Unfortunately, my request was ignored. The first bag had about 12 cans of coconut cream and was extremely heavy for me to carry. Despite explaining my concern, the bagger continued packing the rest of the items carelessly and was placing the bags into my cart with obvious attitude, almost banging them down. It felt very disrespectful. After paying, I decided to look for a manager to report the experience. I approached another employee who was stocking shelves near the office area and asked if a manager was available. His response was simply "I don't know," said in a rude manner, with no effort to help or direct me to someone who could assist. Customer service should never feel this dismissive or disrespectful. I understand that retail environments can be busy, but basic courtesy, professionalism, and willingness to help customers should still be expected. Unfortunately, during this visit I experienced the opposite. Management at 88 Ranch Market should seriously review staff training and customer service standards. No customer deserves to feel ignored, dismissed, or treated with attitude while simply trying to shop. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so improvements can be made. Our first and perhaps only visit to the market would easily qualify for 1 star if not for our cashier, Elizabeth. She was the only employee in the entire store that showed any professional courtesy to us. Every other employee we saw never looked at us or acknowledged us. They all walked around with a permanent frown. Before Elizabeth finished checking us out a very annoyed employee reluctantly came to the register with that permanent frown, did not acknowledge us but only grunted when Elizabeth made her way to complete our transaction. This store easily qualifies for the worst customer service award. I thanked Elizabeth for showing kindness and she apologized for our experience. The store has a lot of spices, pastes, seasonings and other items for my Asian fusion creations. However, good luck finding items as it is not organized well and no employees to help. The people working and stocking in the aisles are very rude and unhelpful, the cashiers you had working today were also giving the same attitudes. It's one of the few Asian markets in Temecula so prices can get pretty expensive for certain items compared to surrounding areas such as San Diego and Orange County. Workers aren't always the friendliest, but they do their job. There are various Asian food items to select from but sometimes I question the freshness of the food. The store could be much more cleaner and organized; however, it appears they are trying to rearrange the store at the moment.. They also recently added a crane arcade, which I plan to try out sometime with the kiddos. The good: This is a good Asian market to buy Filipino goods. It's like 99 Ranch except less Chinese. I got my kids Yan Yan-like hello kitty crackers wkth chocolate dip and they loved it. There's a Filipino bakery attached to this market. They had exotic fruits like durian. They also had a huge selection of ramen. It was fun to browse this market because I haven't seen too many Filipino-centric markets this size. The bad: The check-out area is a bit cramped. Not perfect, but helpful when you're in need of certain Asian ingredients. This store is a lifesaver for when my mom needs something for a dish and the American grocery stores don't have it. There are also a lot of foods that they don't have, but they have a majority of them. We discovered the store when we badly needed this Korean BBQ sauce and called to see if they had any. Someone there picked up the phone right away and we were able to stop by just before they closed! The shop is fairly clean for an Asian grocery store, but the workers aren't exactly welcoming. We went to the butcher and the guys there just glared at us. The prices are a bit higher than the Asian supermarkets down in Orange County, but it makes sense considering they're the only Asian market within 50 miles. Not as large and bright but still the familiar Asian groceries, cookware and bakery. A few items we purchased were priced a little lower than 99. Moving from San Diego where there were many choices for Asian markets, I thought I would not find one in Temecula. But we have and it's great. Being able to get the treats fresh fish and food. The store has a little sit down restaurant inside. The Sisig and streamed buns are tasty. But wished they had more options. Only thing that is lent cool is the prices are higher out here , but it's expected when not a lot of these specialty stores are in the area. I bought these ribs on Friday, made my own marinade of fresh ginger, garlic, soy sauce , brown sugar, and teriyaki sauce. Flip the freezer marinating bags for 2 days in the fridge and grilled to a medium rare doneness. They came out really good. Plenty of delicious char. You can request a special thickness for your ribs from the in house butcher. I have done that in the past. This batch was made with what he already had pre-sliced inside the glass cabinets. They have fresh rice noodles, a nice produce section and a huge variety of sweets and treats. Each isle has a variety of Asian food ingredients to take home and try. This place pretty much have everything that we would look for in an asian market. From vegetable oil to sauces to snacks to spices to instant noodles. I normally get my Asian groceries when in the Orange County, Little Saigon area. But, the 88 Ranch does have a fair variety of Asian groceries when I'm in a pinch. This review isn't key for the grocery store, NOT the attached restaurant / bakery named "Trinning," which is eons above with customer service, store appearance, and payment technology. The store is inadequately lit and gives it an eerie look. For an Asian store, they are extremely backward in technology: they refuse to take mobile payments like Apple Pay. Come on! It is 2025 and a lot of customers probably don't even have their physical cards with them. I mean, I get the preference for cash - may be a cultural or IRS thing, who knows. But kinda sketchy they don't take mobile wallet payments, which are much faster and more secure. Finally, I've been to other Asian stores that sell, clean, and cook fish and THEY don't smell like 88 Ranch. I suppose the fishy smell is the theme that describes this place and customer experience. What a gem of a find! I've been looking for an Asian grocery store that's within an hour's driving distance of me and alas, I found 88 Ranch. The store is well-organized, clean, and has a myriad of ingredients in every section. I am a feen for a great Asian food market, so I took my time perusing up and down the aisles to see all their offerings. I could've walked out having purchased $100+ worth of ingredients, but alas, I chose to behave this time around.
