First time we wondered into this location. Had to drop a package at UPS next door and thought we'd grab some beverages for our upcoming hotel stay. Man! This place is big and it is clean! Very nice selection of wines and spirits (if you are into that stuff) and you get a discount if you are a Stater Brothers member and buy a certain quantity. Prices are very good compared to other supermarkets. The door we walked in was right next to their freshly made sushi. Great selection there as well and very well prices. Some of their older cashiers are just racist. Only people who have experienced racism know the feeling when those type of people treat you very differently from just the person in front of you or behind you. They find it very satisfying to just not acknowledge your presence or even help you with groceries after swiping your items.. and it's never a few items.. it's always a half cart full of items. They just start ringing the next person with a smile and start bagging their items, then they just stand and stare at us.. Or they just randomly shove items in bags with no care in the world and toss it to us without saying a word. I also don't get some of the baggers, some help but why move to a cashier that is ringing up 5 items to a cashier that's ringing up 30 items. No common awareness? Don't you want people in and out quickly? I've come here many times with many similar incidents and it's always the older cashiers. read more

Staters is supposed to be known for having a great meat department. However, I recently bought some tri-tip and realized only after opening the package how they hide the amount of fat and discoloration on the bottom of the package. After visiting a fabulous Stater Bros. Market in Winchester CA, I was anxious to try out the one in my hometown! Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as great as the other one. This Temecula market is located at Temecula & Redhawk Parkways across the street from Kohls - a convenient location with lots of parking. Produce section was great - fresh and nicely organized. Deli meats were so-so - I got some of their premium brand "Cornershop Cuts" turkey breast and it wasn't nearly as good as the Boar's Head deli meats that I usually get from Ralph's nearby. I've heard that their selection, quality, and price of butcher meats is great. I wasn't shopping for that this time, but may check it out in the future. My biggest complaint is that they don't have self-checkout lanes and the woman checking me out was incredibly SLOW. I wanted to jump in and do it myself; I could not believe how much time she took to handle and scan every item. I was trying to expedite the process by bagging things myself, but that too was slowed down by having three different baggers step in at various points to bag one or two items before they were pulled away to price check or some such task for someone else. Seriously, they need to revamp checkout to include self lanes and speeding up the scan process. I observed other lanes taking as long as mine! I always do self-checkout and the absence of this would keep me from coming back unless I had nothing to do and nowhere else to be - it was that painful! Stater Bros. does not have a customer rewards program, although there is a sign-up to get digital deals. My checkout person started to explain it to me, but I was so desperate to speed things up that I told her I'd just look it up online. read more

I have shopped at Stater Bros. on Temecula Pkwy for over 10 years. very disappointed the last couple times. Don't seem to have baggers any longer. I packed one bag, he bagged one bag, then he left them set. I'm a darn fit gal in my middle 80's but it would have been nice for the guy cashier to put them in my cart. Today's trip to Stater Brothers in Temecula was a real disappointment. When I reached the check stand, I was faintly greeted by the cashier who proceeded to ring up my items. I indicated that I had a bag, but didn't expect to be working as a box boy during this visit. After she rang me up and I paid, my groceries were left on the counter belt for me to box. At age 16, I was a very hardworking, extremely efficient box boy. But, in my mid 70's, I didn't expect to be boxing my groceries at Stater Brothers where I thought customer service would be of importance. There are so many choices of grocery stores in the area. I understand that when I shop at Winco, I bag my own groceries. Even at the self service line at Walmart I bag my own groceries. And their cashiers and employees are animated snd helpful. On this trip to Stater Brothers, I was actually standing in the box boy position putting my groceries in my bag as the uninterested cashier began ringing up the next customer. Just as I had finished, a gentleman, who I believe was the store manager, approached and asked if I needed help and stated that I shouldn't be bagging my groceries. That was a little late. And I don't blame the young lady who was at a different cash register bagging other customer's groceries. She was busy. It was my cashier who appeared to be unmotivated with her job. Follow-up to my original review: I received a phone call from Bill, the Store Manager. He expressed on behalf of StaterBros sincere condolences for the loss of my father & apologized for the way I was treated at the store. My husband & I spoke with him for about 15 minutes and towards the end of the conversation he invited us to come to the store to meet him in person. We did go to the store and my husband & I both felt his sincerity & his kindness. StaterBros is lucky to have a Manager like him. He did give me a gift card which I accepted not because of the cake, but because of how poorly I was treated the day before. We also met the bakery Manager who was equally as kind & sincere as well. Bottom line, all we wanted was for them to acknowledge they dropped the ball on the cake & their employees need some costumer service training and, both of those items were acknowledged. We will continue to shop at StaterBros as long as they have great Managers like Bill & the Bakery Manager. read more

I remember when Stater Bros. advertised as being the "low-price leader". They have abandoned that because they are far from the prices at Winco or Walmart, or Food 4 Less. Meat is good, but be aware that when they advertise steaks most of the time it's select grade and could be better. Of course, they have a choice grade right next to the sale item at a much higher price. Their marketing strategy of buying more to get a lower price does not work for me either, I don't need four 12-packs of soda or 4 dozen eggs, etc. etc. So most of the time I'll go elsewhere. read more

I have to bring attention to the Stater Brothers Meat Department. I have considered Stater Brothers to be one of the best places to buy meat. I am yet to be disappointed, and with Christmas out of the way I am able to finally thank them. Christmas Day we decided to grill some steaks on the grill and Stater Brothers on the South 79 was much obliged. I order the Prime cut Filets and the Butcher had them ready Christmas Eve morning. They were to die for and could have possibly put any great Steakhouse Restaurants to shame. The cuts were top of the line and literally you almost didn't need a steak knife to cut them. "Where's the beef"? Tell Clara it is in the back of the store. Stater Bros has the beef and so much more. The butcher area is awsome. They will custom cut, season, whatever you want at no extra charge. Want to kick up your beef ribs and they will give you a slab of chuck ribs which is damn near the size of dino ribs for about 1/3 the cost. Double bone chops, no worry, just ask. Steaks, ribs, ground meat, chicken, it's all good. All the butchers are ready to help. Look for the specials. They have some sort of special each week in their weekly ad. It always has something from the meat department. If you are a friggen vegan, no worry, they have enough veggies to keep you and the rest of the rabbits happy. Stater Bros is my favorite market in Temecula. Remember to visit the butcher area. They are always willing to help and you will be rewarded with cuts much superior to that of other markets. Stater Bros has always had some pretty good meats, but after the remodel it is amazing! Let's start with the primo grades of wagyu meats.... Followed by the amazing preseasoned collection of carne and pollo asada. This is only my experience with your customer service booth. There is a young blonde girl working there who seems to need remedial training in customer service. Firstly, I don't even get greeted and she seems to have been inconvenienced by my presence. I asked her if I could buy a $30 gift card and she tells me they don't sell $30 gift cards. Okay what increments do they sell? She proceeded to say $10, etc. Then I asked her how about three $10 gift cards? Shaking my head & rolling my eyes in my mind. So she rings it all up with the body language that she's being inconvenienced. She hands it to me with nary a thank you or any other indication that she's providing any semblance of customer service. I've been coming here for years and it gets the job done for a great price. This place is clean, affordable and no gimmicks. The parking lot is huge which is nice and they don't have people at the door asking for money. The prices are always great and the products are good quality. The employees are always busy which means this this is a good place to shop. Yes this spot is busy especially after 5pm so be prepared to wait in long lines. Wow. What a breath of fresh air. (LITERALLY) i work in LA County and live in Riverside. I DO NOT wear mask. Throughout this bs plandemic I've literaly had to find places that are willing to accept that through trial and error. I work hard, make good money, and I will not spend my money anywhere that wants to infringe on my rights. Long story short I was passing through and needed some items for a birthday party I was headed too. I went in and I was expecting someone to make a comment about me not wearing a mask. I was surprised to see quite a few others were maskless. I was even more surprised and overjoyed to see that some of the staff weren't wearing mask either. I love that management made the RIGHT decision of letting their employees exercise their right to choice. Especially, since mandates are request not laws! In addition to that the store was immaculate. Spotless! Shelves were well stocked. (Minis ginger.) LOL Staff was awesome and very helpful. I will say this and its not to be biased but I noticed the unmasked employees were much more active and willing to help. I'm not sure if I was being discriminated against for not wearing a mask or if the masked employees were just exhausted from being muzzled all day and not getting proper oxygen . Either way I plan on coming back whenever I'm on the area. I come down this way about twice a month. Thank you for your excellent customer service. read more

In comparing the large grocery chains I have to give Stater Bros (this one in particular) a high mark. I don't do a majority of the grocery shopping in my household, but when I am delegated to pick up a few items I try to venture over here (which is actually out of my way) due to decent prices; and I always cruise the meat department and end up leaving with more than I planned. They have, for a grocery store, a great meat department with some really good prices most days I swing in. If I hit it at the right time I usually walk out with some nice cuts of beef. Two thumbs up for the butchers here. I have picked up some fresh produce a few times and its always been good to go. They also carry a few miscellaneous items that other grocery stores do not. The staff has always been courteous and helpful when I needed to make an inquiry. If I lived closer I'd probably "volunteer" to make that run to the grocery store more often. read more

Stater Bros has been around for a long time. This store is not my regular go to store. They have two stand out sections. The produce department is good sized. Most items are priced appropriately but for some reason the bell peppers are kinda spendy @ 2 for $4. Avocados are 4 for $5. The meat section is what I like best. Usually 2 or more live butchers and counter clerks. Makes it great for live help and custom orders. Lots of choices, fish though not so much. Wine selection is good and you get a deep discount with 4 or more bottles. Usually I can find something I like. Deli is so so, not much there for variety. Salads, some pasta and meats. It's like meh....nothing really appealing to me. Meats and cheeses pre sliced so it doesn't have a freshness to it. Check out could use some updating. No self check out. I could see myself aging as I wait in the lines. Everybody has self check out now....what's up with that Stater? All in all it is a clean well lighted store and you could probably find whatever you're looking for here. No customer rewards programs. read more
