This store is our local grocery store. We visit this store quite frequently each week. This has been the store we prefer for over 18 years. The store features well stocked shelves, a friendly helpful staff and a wide variety of goods. Their produce section has a decent selection of organic fruits and vegetables and usually well stocked. Though they do keep products well stocked, its not unusual for the store to run short of certain goods, but this only happens on rare occasion and sometimes during the holiday season. They have plenty of check stands and always seem to have enough personnel operating the check stands during peak hours during the busiest times. Though inflation is alive and well, the prices at Stater Brothers seems to be a bit lower on most products in comparison to Vons or Albertsons. Overall, we highly recommend this store. It has a great atmosphere, management and employees that care and good value for the money. read more

I've been a regular customer here (pretty much daily) for almost 15 years. The quality of produce, overall inventory and customer service has steadily declined to the point where I actually felt compelled to come to Yelp specifically to write this review. I'm going to start with the experience I've had multiple times recently that is really the cause for my writing this. Checkers are starting to passive-aggressively push bagging responsibilities onto the customer in the most awkward way. Now, I'm all for pitching in and helping if you're busy but the company eliminated baggers for the most part (except for the occasional employee who just decides to help out). Look around next time you're there -- are there any dedicated baggers? Not likely. They pushed the reponsibility onto the checkers, who are now pushing it onto the customers. Instead of bagging groceries, your checker just casually pushed all of my items away from her towards the end of the table. As was doing that, she asked if I needed bags, to which I replied, "Yes, please". She pulled a couple paper bags and just set them on top of my groceries and handed me my receipt. If I'm going to be doing your job for you, and if your checkers are going to be passive-aggressive about it, the least you could do is post a notice about your updated policies and waive the charge for the bags when the customer has to do the bagging. This has happened MULTIPLE times to the point that I have to believe checkers are being trained to do this, in an effort to cut costs for baggers, while simultaneously trying not to increasing wait times for customers in line. Just like everything else in this economy, prices go up while service and quality take a nosedive. At least be transparent about it for your customers. What your checkers are doing is awkward and really rubs customers (at least this one) the wrong way. On top of that, inventory at this location is terrible. This store is regularly out of items (items they carry, but are out of stock). Shelves are bare/picked over and I find myself having to go to another grocery store anyways just to complete my list. Might as well just go somewhere else to begin with. Also, the produce quality here is mediocre at best. If you want REALLY good produce at MUCH cheaper prices, go to 88 Ranch on Ynez Rd. I'm constantly surprised by how cheap my grocery bill is there for such high quality. Conversely, I'm constantly surprised by how high my bill is at Stater Bros. for...what? I fully expect a canned, generic, non-response from their PR department on this review. Nothing will change - they'll just try to mitigate a negative review with the usual "we're sorry you had a bad experience" response. I've been coming here for almost 15 years. Dear Store Manager, Today was very disappointing, I can feel my heart palpitating because of how the Cashier Stephanie treated us. This is not about the .10 cents but how they treated us feels demeaning and embrassing. Today, we spent $243.94 at your store and while we were shopping every staff was smiling and friendly except when we were towards the end our shopping experience-- this particular cashier STEPHANIE! We brought our own bags and since you took out baggers, I was the one busy bagging our groceries while the staff would talk to themselves or chat about anytbing. i used my own bags as intended. Then we finished paying and realized that I would need ONE more bag, and this STEPHANIE was like, NEXT TIME TELL ME YOU NEED A BAG SO I WILL CHARGE YOU! I was like, WOW! Girl, i didnt know my bag would be insufficient, you dont need to tell me that. I guess looking at the situation, she could've just be considerate coz i didnt intend to be short of bags?? Also, she couldve just ask me to pay instead of embarassing me infront of everyone else? Girl, i paid $240+ plus and did business with you. It was such a bad experience after leaving your store! And i will never look at your store the same way anymore! stop insulting people! I told her, nevermind dont put it in the bag, and of course she did put out the stuff outside the paper bag. Unbelievable!! What a shame. You are my local grocery store but im glad to drive a little further because i dont deserve to be treated this way. Next time, hire people who have good customer service skills, all she did was ring the items and we did everything and still she treated us that bad. You wont go bankrupt with .10cents and i dont think it will be deducted from your pay as well. Typically not my normal store but ladies at checkout and bagger carried on a whole conversation with themselves without acknowledging me until she gave me my receipt, no customer service is this store Except this young man named Kayson acknowledged multiple people throughout whole store! I was so impressed with his work ethic and his hustle throughout the store. He ran circles around everyone else! Nice job kid you can teacher the older ones a lot in that store. this is my 3rd time purchasing a 16 piece dark meat, and everytime i give this location a chance, they always let me down, given that its right by my kids school, my recent encounter was when i have requested fresh chicken to be dropped and no other staterbros location has given me trouble but this location, i requested for fresh 16 piece dark meat chicken, and i know the wait time for them,the first woman i encountered was pleasant, to which she had informed a woman named kimmie about my request and kimmie informed me the chicken is fresh, i simply declined and kindly asked for fresh chicken. I thought it was over already when i did one walk through around an aisle and came back and kimmie then stated my order is ready, mind i tell you, this was only about 5 min in, and i informed kimmie that i am kindly requesting fresh chicken and she was not having it, another woman, Renee, stepped in and kindly informed me she will drop the chicken for me. i do not appreciate the service that kimmie provided she is rude and does not deserve to work in this industry if thats how she treats customers, thank you renee, i appreciate you read more

I placed a drive-up order and it was not a great experience at all. As soon as I got there, the website was not working. I had to call the store's number to let them know I was outside. The employee came out with my order and handed them to me. Before I could even check my order; the employee had already walked away. The roses that I purchased... 4 out of 12 stems were BROKEN. I spent almost $50 for this and it was not up to par. I had to take my sleeping infant out of the car and walk inside the store with the order to replace it. Instead of the employee apologizing for the broken stems... he had to go get his manager (who did NOT even say a single word to me) she just told him to replace ONE... there was four broken ones. There was no apology... nothing. The employee went to replace the broken ones; I am so glad I counted because he only gave me 10 roses instead of 12. Seriously? I'm spending almost $50 for basically a vase and these roses. At least try to give me nice customer service. To conclude this review... I do not recommend using the drive-up order unless you're planning on walking back inside the store to fix the errors. Customer service was lacking. read more

Save yourself time and drive to a different store. This store is terrible. The staff is not friendly. They always discontinue the items I use. So I end up having to go to another store anyways. There is no variety of products. I get better service and options at Albertsons. Which is why 99.9% of the time I would rather drive 10 minutes further. I can never get all my shopping done at this store. The meat counter sausages I use to buy look terrible in color. I use to be a big Staters fan until I shopped at this store and always have issues getting the products I need. They tell you oh we will order it for you and then it never shows up. read more

Young man (teen), blonde hair, Kayden (sp?) is a great asset to our Stater Bros. He's always personable with a smile and a greeting EVERY TIME. While looking at flowers a couple days ago, I noticed another employee, older woman, cleaning up a large water spill near the front door. Kayden came in from outside and took initiative to help. He told her she could go do what she needed, "I got you". It was so refreshing to see his good and energetic attitude, ready to step in. This young man has leadership in him 100 percent. My family and I have been longtime shoppers here now, and a big contribution is because of one outstanding worker. Every time we come here, we always look out for one checker to check out our groceries. Even if we have barely any items in hand, we'll wait in the longer lines just to make conversation with her. Damareeana is amazing! She's kind, friendly, and always puts a smile on our face. I never leave reviews, but I just had to share what an amazing worker this location has. Treat her well!! Having switched to a carnivore diet, finding quality beef at an affordable price is paramount. Stater bros has filled that need for over a year now. Most especially Butcher Josh. He cuts my steaks perfect, pa kages them extra careful so they stay fresh and has outstanding customer service skills.. Don't get me wrong, every butcher there is awesome, but Josh with his perma-smile is a pleasure to deal with. Wow, I was so impressed at what a beautiful grocery store this is! It's conveniently located in the French Valley Village Center with plenty of parking. The store is immaculately clean, brightly lit and well-stocked with fresh produce, meats, seafood and a great bakery section. They even have a cool Krispy Kreme kiosk! Very nice Stater Bros. in the French Valley/Dutch Village area near tail end of Murrieta/Temecula & Winchester. Not sure if it's actually Winchester, but I could be wrong. Huge, clean and well stocked store in a small busy shopping center. My review mainly reflects the very helpful cashier that tried to find me a clean unsmashed set of Halloween cupcakes-were smashed but sealed tightly. I told I appreciated her concern & help but I still wanted to purchase them as they were the last ones left & too cute of Halloween theme. It's people like her that make a difference and the reason I keep coming back. And to the people standing in line looking perplexed at me for buying smashed baked goods, "Why do you care? By the looks of my photo, my intentions were good - you obviously can't tell too much they're were thrown around & I still paid full price; I wouldn't expect not to. read more

This Stater Brothers Market gets 6 stars for customer service. In fact, most companies should video tape the employees at this store and use it for training on how to interact with customers. From the moment we entered the store until the time we departed every employee we came in contact with greeted us with a smile, asked how we were doing and if we needed help with anything. Wow! Besides great customer service the store is well stocked, very clean and has a great selection of products that we tend to use. The location is in the French Valley and a bit of a drive for us but we are retired so what else do we have to do... The Temecula Staters Brothers is being remodeled and is a bit of a mess. We will drive the extra miles to this location, passing Albertsons and Vons to shop here. Easy 5 stars and as I said in the first sentence, 6 stars for customer service. read more

My five stars are for a specific employee. I've ordered curbside grocery pick up twice recently first thing in the mornings. The courtesy clerk young lady, Chastity, that has helped me both times is extremely thorough and always comes out with a smile. The store doesn't allow their courtesy clerks to take tips which is ridiculous. But they said if you leave a Yelp review and mention the employees name, the employee gets a gift card or something. I'm new to the area and this store has become instantaneously one of my favorites. It is always full of great quality food and great ambiance for the shopper. Today, two of the younger workers, Jasmine and Jocelyn over at the fruit cutting station, went out of their way to make me a fresh fruit bowl because I mentioned that fruit tray that I grabbed had that didn't look super appetizing to me. They offered to switch out the fruit that I didn't like or to make me a whole new tray.. didn't realize how much effort came into a whole new tray when I preferred it. Thank you ladies. I also want to mention that Scott, the cashier that helped me, gave me great service and was able to answer all of the questions I had for him. Large grocery store reminds me of home in Madison Alabama. Store layout was very similar to our Kroger grocery store. Prices seemed a bit high but this was California. Good selection of tuna and Salmon. Happy thanksgiving with our grandchildren! read more

Just had a fantastic experience at Stater Brothers! I needed rainbow sprinkles and they were out of them in the shopping isle. My 6 yr old grand daughter would be very sad. After asking if they had any, Tina (I think) hunted the isles for me and confined they were out. BUT she didn't give up. Without me even asking, She tracked down a colleague in baking, and found a huge box of them and made a special container for me. THIS IS HIGH QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE! Went into the Temecula, CA location on Benton Rd July 3, 2022. (Store #177) Sure they were a little busy - It was the day prior to a holiday, after all. USDA Choice bone in New York Strip is on sale for $6.99/lb. A good buy, even though I usually don't mind springing for prime for a special occasion. July 4 is my daughter's 5th birthday and she asked for a steak dinner. How do I tell those gorgeous brown eyes, "no?" She asked, daddy buys. Cooking for 5, and the pre-packaged, ¾"-1" thick steaks just aren't gonna cut it. We need nice thick slabs of meat for this one. I wait patiently at the counter until the disgruntled old dude in the blue shirt asks what I need. I ask if he has any thick New Yorks. (Already checked the counter, there weren't any - they were pushing their rib-eyes.) He tells me all the New Yorks are out in the reefer. I tell him they are too thin, and I am looking for some nice 2" cuts. Dude rolls his eyes and says, "I'll go check." He comes out with the box, throws it down next to the saw and tells me, "It's gonna be a long time." As if I am putting him out. Like, HOW DARE I ACTUALLY ASK A BUTCHER TO CUT FUCKING MEAT?!?!. I wait, he cuts the steaks, wraps them worse than the free wrapping at the mall come Christmas time and slaps a price tag on them and damn near throws them over the counter at me. Today, I get them out to start prepping them for dinner. (let rise to room temp, salt, black pepper). 5 steaks. Absolutely the worst cuts I have ever seen from Stater Brothers. Paid over $50. Trimmed 1lb 13oz, nearly $15 of thick, dry useless fat from them. You know, the hard, crusty part that adds absolutely ZERO flavor to the meat? And the steaks weren't even cut uniformly. The wide end started at 2" thick and tapered to 1" at the little end, indicative of a lazy or incompetent fuck that was just trying to zip through the slab with a band saw and not even trying to make parallel cuts. Like seriously, what in the actual fuck, over? This company used to be well known for their meats and competency in butchering. Shit, their slogan for quite some time was "It's our meat that made us famous." Need to change it to, "We can't be bothered to serve you." Congratulations Stater Bros. Let me star by saying I love Stater Bros. I've been shopping at Stater's since I was a child and it's my go to for grocery shopping. Pricier than Aldi or Winco but quality on par with the pricier national chains (Vons, Ralphs, Albertsons). Meat dept is always fresh and they'll cut it fresh if asked. Deli is always stocked with a good variety of meats, cheeses, and pre-prepped food. Produce is typically solid and lasts a good amount of time once home. They carry everything you could need and if alcohol is your thing, this location has a nice new refrigerated liquor department to fit your needs. There's usually plenty of staff on hand to answer questions or point you in the right direction (they're going thru a remodel now so directions are HUGE! Since most things have moved from their normal place) lines can be long on weekends but that's pretty normal everywhere around here. read more
