Just tried Willy's yesterday, my friend told me about the place and invited me to go. I had a bacon and sausage omelet, with a load of hash browns on the side. The meal was delicious, and filled me up. Willy is very friendly and even talks to you not like other places where they treat you like crap, I will definitely return again. read more

I definitely think this place is a grrreat deal but to chalk it up as the "best eggs benedict in the OC" is a pretty big statement. I've had too many delicious eggs benedict breakfasts in NYC [Yes, and *even* at the $8 price] to think this is superb. I ordered it to-go and it just looked so sloppy... too much hollandaise sauce spilling over everywhere and the bread muffin was all soggy as though it had been sitting under the poached eggs for an hour rather than 15-minutes. A good suggestion would be to separate the hollandaise sauce and/or bread for to-go orders. The lady who handed me my order was nice with instructions "to enjoy." Willy better live forever! The Gyros are incredible! Their combos for lunch and dinner are priced well and have so much flavor. You can taste the freshness as well as see the food cooking when you order. Ask for extra cucumber sauce, which makes the salad and Gyros more awesome! read more

Thankfully my buddy found this place and knew about it and made me check it out. I have just moved into the area right down the street from here and thankfully this place is not open on the weekends or I would be pigging out here all the time. When you step into this family run place you feel like the busy streets of NYC are right outside. These kinds of spots are few and far between in Orange County. But Willy's comes through big time in some of the best greek food I have had. I have only been once, but I will try and get back here to try more off the menu. If you are a first timer here and don't want breakfast just go with the Gyro. You won't be disappointed. I grabbed the chicken gyro with rice combo. Super great flavor. Had the chicken wrap and hummus and a bite of the gyro plate. DELICIOUS! Meat was so moist and full of flavor. Pita was perfect thickness and texture, hummus tasted fresh and pure. Didn't give it 5 stars because they mixed their menu with hamburgers and other sandwiches... kind of insulted the deliciousness of their authentic dishes creating a less desirable place to be. I absolutely LOVE this place and it's very clear a lot of other people agree. The owners are friendly (they know most customers by their names) and the service is great (food is ready for take out or dine in within 10 minutes). The menu has a variety of dishes to suit anyone's taste (burgers, cold cuts, salads), but my absolute favorite is the Greek Chicken Wrap made with hummus, shredded chicken and rice in a pita bread (and the gyro, and the greek chicken plate, and the chicken lemon soup, and the tuna melt... I can go on and on!) I work close by so I'm there almost twice a week if not more. I've noticed a lot of people who work close by phone in their orders, or even have their food delivered (but for delivery I think you need a minimum order amount). Above all, the one thing that makes this place worth going to (if nothing else grabbed you) is the baklava, made fresh daily by Willy himself. Make one trip and I guarantee you'll be hooked. This is as good as it gets for Greek. Owned by the most adorable Greek couple, they really make some good authentic greek dishes. And they seem to remember most of their customers. My co-workers and I usually do take-out once in a while. Depending on how busy they are, they may or may not take your breakfast order. I like their gyro sandwich, Chicken Caesar Wrap and Willy's Greek Chicken Wrap. Their rice isn't that generic rice pilaf like Daphne's but more like chicken rice. I'm completely confused about all these good reviews! I ordered through Postmates. I always give consideration when ordering delivery for the fact it is not fresh out of the kitchen like when you are dining in. I understand the temperature of the food will be off, but this was not the issue. I ordered the steak eggs benedict since they were recommended so highly. The description says juicy steak pieces. For $15 it was not worth the try. The steak was a thin piece of a roast beef like meat. The thickness was comparable to a piece of store bought lunch meat. It was chewy, not juicy or tender. The poached eggs were done correctly so that was the only good part. The hashbrowns were greasy and left an unpleasant oily aftertaste. The hollandaise was your basic but nothing out of the ordinary. This place is the bomb! It's the best flavor you will taste. My favorite is the Second Best chicken sandwich. It is tender, juicy, marinated, shredded chicken on a toasted bun that they coat in melted butter. It is to die for. Just thinking about it makes me have to go there to get one. Their macaroni salad on the side is also super tasty...and in a generous portion. I highly recommend this tiny little hole in the wall run by an amazingly wonderful couple. Update... Willy and his wife retired. Their nephew took over and is updating the place. They have new tables and chairs, new flooring, but the same tasty food. I used to live across the street in the apartments and would go over to Willy's and have the "beefeater" sort of sandwich. Delicious! I haven't lived there since 1998 so I am glad to hear the restaurant is doing so well. Nice couple running the place. Hidden gem in Anaheim. Willy and his wife greet you warmly when you come in and the gyro/salad combo I had was very good. They even gave my friend and I free baklava to try since it was our first time visiting (excellent, by the way). Willy's wife came over during lunch with a steak knife and regular dish, saying she saw me having a hard time cutting the gyro with the knife they gave me. Such great service! I'll definitely come back. We got there around 11:35 for lunch and right after we got in, a flood of people followed. Visited Willy's on a Friday for lunch with two others. Two of us ordered a chicken wrap, which was served with either rice or a side salad. My other quest ordered the gyro...which included a side greek salad. Both selections were very tasty...chicken was shredded and very tasty and I was told that the gyro was delicious as well. The only setback was that the service was a little slow...but we did arrive at the primetime of the noon lunch hour. Overall, prices were a great value for the quantity and flavor. Went in for breakfast and was disappointed service was slow. My boyfriend got the eggs Benedict and they were amazing I got a breakfast sandwich which came out 10 mins after he got his food and also a family came in 15 mins after we ordered and they got there food when I got my breakfast sandwich. When visiting Southern CA, as I am prone to do, I often look for off-the-grid places to eat. I visited Willy's on a Friday (2/4) morning, not fully prepared for what to expect. It was recommended by a local who raved about their eggs benedict and gyros. I was not expecting a strip mall location nor a true family affair. Moreover, I was not expecting a big YELP sticker on the door (but, boy, was I happy to see it). My friend, daughter and I walked in to what looked like an empty restaurant. Within seconds, the owners came out from the back of the restaurant to the other side of the counter. They offered us their table, which was marked "RESERVED," as it was the largest table in the place. It was rife with crumbs and newspapers, but Willy quickly offered to take the newspapers and we sat down. Ann offered to make my daughter a Mickey Mouse pancake (which was clearly off-menu). I agreed, also ordering my DD a plate of sausage (her favorite). I chose to order a peppers and onions omelet, with the house potatoes called "Those Potatoes." They were fried potatoes with onions and green peppers. My meal also came with toast, so I chose sourdough (my favorite). Willy started cooking our meals right away, while Ann chatted us up about where we we live. She said she mostly gets regulars in the restaurant, save for the recent influx of Yelpers. She said for the last 25 years the same people had been coming in until Yelp found them. Wow. I noticed a line of trophies on the beverage case. Ann explained to me that Willy was a table tennis champ. He'd played for years. The food came in waves, with my daughter's arriving first, mine second and my friend's last. At small shops like this, I am used to getting uniformly chopped, (perhaps even previously frozen) vegetables in my omelet. This one was filled with huge pieces of delicious fresh grilled onions and peppers. "Those Potatoes" were just as delicious, echoing the omelet. I took one bite of the toast (which came served as 1 piece of bread sliced in half), but I was turned off by the spread. Hey, I am a butter lover! My toddler gobbled up all three large links of sausage and the bulk of her pancake, a rare feat for a then-2-year-old. The food was slightly better than average breakfast fare. The beauty of this place is the history, which the owners were proud to talk to us about. We asked about the pictures on the walls and they were happy to give us the stories behind them. All in all, I'd definitely visit again. Be aware that Willy's is not open on the weekends. Everyone needs a little rest, right? read more

Lunch at the hotel was just cold cuts, so we went exploring. The place was busy when we arrived just after noon, but the line kept moving. I was disappointed to see the gyro meat cooking on the flat top instead of on a rotating skewer, but it came so highly recommended that I went for it anyway, getting a gyro with a greek salad. Lucky for us, a table opened us as soon as we all had our drinks. Someone came to clear the table after they saw us sit down. My salad came first, then all our sandwich plates came together. The salad was pretty good - fresh ingredients, but a little too much crumbled feta and a little too much acid for my taste. The gyro was also pretty good, particularly for pre-cooked, pre-sliced, heated on the flat top meat. I like the flavor of the tzatziki, and the pita was nice and soft. I absolutely hate feeling like a gringo when I walk into a restaurant. Happens at King Taco, happens when I try to get some meat from the local carniceria and it happens here too (mostly middle aged white folk). But not a problem, as the owners (the elderly Greek couple) are very warm and welcoming to folks of my color. Located behind Puddles Car Wash (in the heart of the East Anaheim hood), and super close to my house, you would never know that this place was any good if it weren't for Yelp. Chicken sandwich was delicious, super moist. Looking forward to trying their famous Eggs Benedict, gyros and maybe some baklava when I get another chance.
