The barbecue here was one of my better experiences eating in Canton in November. Walked in and the wait staff seemed a little confused that I wanted to dine by myself. I was directed to a table and then reseated at the bar where a patron had only gotten up momentarily, and then moved again. This feeling of confusion and a little bit of unsettledness defined my experience here. Server took a while to get to me and didn't seem to notice when I was ready to order and when I was ready to wrap up. Maybe this place is better with a larger group, but solo diners seemed easily forgotten here. Wait staff was also hanging out and discussing their day near where I was seated. I wanted to enjoy the ambiance and not necessarily hear the dynamics of the restaurant. I'll be back for the barbecue, but I'll bring someone or I'll just take out next time. read more

WOW! This the BEST, all- around barbecue restaurant I've been to, and I've tried many "top bbq" places throughout the country. We had the smoked wings, sausage, chicken and multiple sides and each and every item was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Okay I have been here many times and only once or twice has the service and food been anything less than amazing. I love their Fox5 Burger. Oh my goodness. It's so good. Hands down our favorite bbq restaurant. There are plenty to choose from, but you can't beat Williamson Bros! The decor is spacious and friendly. The service is quick and also friendly. The food is yummy! I always look at the menu but always get the same thing - bbq pork platter with cole slaw and Brunswick stew (which is the best I've ever had and I've tried a bunch!). Overall, this is the best BBQ spot in metro Atlanta. The food here is amazing, everything from the entree to the sides and the desserts are beyond great. My favorite here is the beef brisket plate with fried okra and green beans. Their fried okra is a must have as it's fresh and the breading on its fantastic. I described this as the best all around bbq spot but the best ribs in Atlanta is still Fatt Matt's in my book but the ribs here are really good. The service here is always friendly and helpful and I love all the double checking they do to make sure to-go orders are accurate. Speaking of to-go, they sell a jarred bbq sauce with cherry juice in it and it's amazing and you can't find it in stores so be sure to grab one while you're here if you bbq at home. This place is the best bbq/other place I have been since I moved to Georgia. I got the bbq baked potato....mind blown. Was so huge like this spud was the size of the plate and fully loaded with pulled pork and cheese and flavor. I like that you can add butter and other stuff you want especially your choice of their bbq sauces. Ate it for 3 meals this thing was so darn big. The appetizer sampler is the thing dreams are made of. Everything on the plate was so good I find myself on random days wanting just parts of it and will go and just get it. Their wings are the best and I can't recommend them enough. Also, the chicken tenders are beyond good too, get these if you want amazing tenders cause you will get your moneys worth for sure. The sides that come with their meals are essentially meals of their own, especially that Brunswick stew (you need this in your life) also the mac and cheese is so darn good. Service is good here, they are attentive and friendly, sauces come in lil containers but if you want more they will bring them. Ambiance of the restaurant is typical sit down, lots of stuff on walls and has a good feel to it. Smells so good inside and will make you hungry. Williams Bros has been around for a while so they should have BBQ on lockdown...sadly, it just doesn't do anything for me. I went in for the 1/4 quarter chicken white plate with mac & cheese and fried okra (predictable, I know)...my food came out like an al a carte' meal at a cafeteria. 3 individual plates with my chicken and each side. I asked if I could have an adult plate (some of us like to mix our veggies). The food was boring... there's nothing that made me think it wasn't a Kroger or Publix rotisserie chicken that had been pulled out of the bag, sat in a smoker for a few minutes and plated. When we walked in...there was a huge dessert case of key lime pie, chocolate cream pie and pecan pie. The slices looked so good and I don't even like pie, so I opted for a slice of the chocolate pie. It wasn't overly light but it wasn't overly heavy either - it was rich and had a good balance of whipped cream and chocolate...it was the best edible part of my meal. The very best part of our meal was the fact that one server stopped by thinking we had just been sat in her section and then realized we didn't belong to her - we were Kevin's table. Kevin was an AMAZING server and was hustling throughout the crowded dining room. He was personable, quick, attentive and was working those tables like he had a rent payment due tomorrow and his life depended on those tips. Kevin kept our table area clean, our drinks refilled and promptly processed our payment while ensuring us we had plenty of time to sit and chat. Hands down he was the very best part of our meal and if we go back, it will only be to sit in his section. Really good food and since their reopening this place is busy at all times of the day. But we've always been able to find a parking spot in the small lot and the wait inside isn't terribly long. Service has always been friendly and attentive and the dining room is large, comfortable, and welcoming. The food is good and I've tried a variety of their proteins: brisket, chicken, pulled pork, and ribs (with the brisket being my favorite). It's a large menu and their are good selection of sides. I tend to favor their steak fries and the grilled green beans are worth the upcharge. The weak spot in their offering is the Brunswick stew, which has little meat and is more of a vegtable stew. read more

Thank you for the best anniversary meal tonight, it made our evening. I loved the combo platter with cole slaw and baked beans. While my hubby had the honey bbq chicken tender platter with a side of mashed potato's and Cole slaw. We added a side of crisp corn fritters with honey butter. This restaurant smells amazing when you just walk in the door! I've tried Williamson Bros at a number of festivals in the past but never went to the restaurant. It was fantastic! We sat at the bar area on a Saturday because it was packed. Service was fast and refills were plentiful! I ordered the Brisket plate (lean) with 2 sides: Brunswick stew and fried okra. Everything was so delicious! The Brunswick stew was a bit too soupy but the fried okra was perfect. It came with a great bbq sauce on the side for dipping. My wife always laughs at me when we are just driving by this place because I roll down the car windows to take in the bbq smells! We usually order the chopped pork plate and it's awesome. Our sides, between the two of us, are fries, onion rings, okra, Brunswick stew or green beans. All are delicious. Also can beat their sauces! This particular location of the local "chain" is located off of Marietta Parkway in Canton, or off of exit 18 on 575 which is the way I traveled to get here! While Williamson's doesn't have the best BBQ I have ever had, it does have some really good, quality BBQ! To start, you know you are a good country, down-home bbq joint when you pull into the parking lot. You are greeted with the smell of wood and meat in the air, a smoker and piles of wood in the parking lot and big wooden building that screams "bbq"! Then, you walk in...and you get the faint sound of the Beverly Hillbillies theme song playing in your head. This place is authentic from parking lot to back door! The hostess stand sits near the pastry shelves, so you can see what all sweet southern desserts you can end your meal with. Just like the outside, the inside is all wood with big chandeliers and gaudy southern art throughout. All in all, it is exactly what you expect and desire out of a down home, southern bbq joint in Canton, Ga! Now, enough about how the place looks...let's get to the food! I have sampled a few things here from the pulled pork sandwich to the polish sausage, along with a few sides. While I enjoyed the sausage, it seemed less southern bbq and more "any casual southern restaurant-ish". I don't mean it wasn't good, I just mean it was underwhelming. The pulled pork sandwich was hefty in size, moist and tasty overall. I, of course, lathered it in their house made sauce which made it even better! For both items, I went platter...this is easily your best bet and best price as you get the meat(s) of your choice along with two sides and bread. As one knows, the sides is what ultimately makes a restaurant and Williamson Bros has no shortage of sides! My absolute must have every visit is the fried okra. It is crisp, well salted and perfectly fried...every single time. In my few visits I have had the mac and cheese, brunswick stew and onion rings. All of which were tasty! Service has always been spot on here! All the servers live the southern lifestyle when it comes to service. You are greeted with a smile, sat with a smile, delivered food with a smile, provided a check with a smile and thanked for coming with a smile and a "come back ya hear". In addition to the attitude, the service has always been on time and efficient during each visit! Overall, Williamson's is more than just a BBQ joint - it's an experience.
