I've always been a huge fan of Williams-Sonoma stores. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've visited their stores when I lived in the Seattle area for 25 years. I've gotten a TON of items there, and I've always loved to browse their shops, too, getting inspiration for cooking and dining decor and more. My daughter and I stumbled across this shop in the mall, as our eyes were caught by the most gorgeous display of deep red trays and dinnerware with dragons, celebrating the Year of the Dragon for the Chinese New Year. As with all their products, the prices were super steep but, boy, are their pieces stunning. Just stunning. As with all WS stores, this one carries all the usual kitchen gadgets, cooking and baking tools and foodstuffs, dining service ware and accessories, seasonal giftware, hand soaps and lotions, and gourmet ingredients. And the store lay-out is the same as the others, with their central counter and cash, sale and seasonal stuff in the back, appliances at the front, etc. Perhaps my memory is foggy, but I remember the after-holiday sales at WS being fantastic. (I used to get a lot of seasonal items for a steal after the bigger holidays). But when I checked out the sale on Christmas items in the back, I was a bit disappointed; the sale prices weren't great, and the selection was somewhat meager. (And not even one Hanukkah item, too. Strange). But, admittedly, again, my memory may be playing tricks with me on this. I will add that no-one greeted my daughter or me while we visited the store and, in fact, two women employees on two separate occasions during our visit were rather brusque as they passed me, moving or stocking various items, bringing them to the back. They made me feel as though I was in their way, when I was simply browsing the wall of kitchen tools and, later, the beautiful olive oils. We didn't exactly get the warm, fuzzy feeling of being welcomed in the store. (Perhaps we just caught the staff at a particular stocking time or something. I don't know). My kid and I didn't purchase anything during our visit, but we sure did appreciate the gorgeous plates and table linens and specialty foods and spices. This'd be a great place to get a hostess gift, or for a foodie friend. (They used to have samples of specialty foods and beverages at WS. Not sure if they do this anymore). Just don't expect to be embraced by the staff here; from what I gather, from other reviews, it's hit or miss, what type of reception you'll receive. But the product line is top-notch, there's no denying that. read more

I knew my mom liked to drink tea in the morning and was specifically looking for decaf teas and they were able to point me to the right products that didn't contain any caffeine. Phoned the store to see if they had a product BEFORE driving 45 min in. The clerk checked and said yes they have it and then took my name down so as to hold it there for me to pick up. Two hrs later, once at the store, the piece of paper with my name on it was at the cash register but not with the product. SO, after at least 20 min of waiting while they looked and looked and looked...oh, sorry, don't have it! Waste of my time and to say frustrating is an understatement. Ridiculous. read more

We were try to spend less out on meals and coffee. We decided to get our own espresso machine. Our daughter was a Bautista in college and said you need a brevell pro. So off we go to William Sonoma to look at them. Of course it liked the big shiny one with all the bells and whistles. This was right before Christmas so we wanted to think on it. David was the first to help us and he knew his espresso machines so well. We decided to go with the Oracle $2700 this thing and it's amazing! And by all calculations it will pay for its self in 9 months. Don't judge me. We were back in this evening for a la crucet tea pot. And David he was great even though he was busy. I purchased a steak sauce for a barbecue dinner party thinking it would be better than A1; well, it tasted like vinegar so I returned it to this mall location. Rude women who berated me for describing the sauce as s____y and took the comment personally plus talking unprofessionally that I didn't need to speak further since they were giving me a credit back. Here's how shopping goes at Williams and Sonoma for this thinks-she-can-cook girl. Catalog from WS arrives in mail. Hubby hides catalog. Girl finds catalog and is later found in corner, drooling, fliipping pages rapidly, with blinking eye, heart rate up. Hubby ponders taking girl to ER. Last year, it was a nonstick wok pan with a coating that wouldn't kill me. He got me a gift card for it, and it's now in my cabinet. I've used it ... maybe twice. But I love it, really I do.I love it. I've made stir fries in in and paella. When we went in the store they were super nice helping me figure out which nonstick thing I really wanted. ( Orginally I thought it was the frying pan, but I was wrong). This year, it was the photo of the Staub dutch oven... bright green in the photo, oval, with some kind of delectable meat and wine concoction inside with a recipe next to it. And the photo of the Le Creuset "Dutch" oven, burgundy in the catalog pic, deep, with yet another falling apart meat item in it. Some kind of chicken thing. Williams Sonoma people are so crafty like that, sending out glossy food porn photos of meat I can't get in a Beaverton restaurant. They know my shallow pyrex baking dishes aren't gonna cut it. I now an the proud owner of a dark red one of those Staub thingies, and a purple ( eggplant colored really) one of the other thingies, but shallower. Hubby explored them in the store, figured out what to get with the people's help and then they had them shipped to our house,whereupon they arrived on Christmas Eve. They cost hubby a lot of money. (Although, of note, they have "special editions" of both kinds of pots that only they carry, and they were quite on sale from their usual sticker shocking price. ) Santa didn't put ME on the naughty list this year. When I opened the boxes, I hugged them. No, really, I clutched that Aubergine dutch oven to my heart like a newborn. Mine. I made a roasted pork shoulder in it over the weekend, and then from that pork and vegetables over polenta, and then pulled BBQ pork sliders. Right now there's chicken cacciatore simmering in the Staub pot. Yes, they are expensive. If I treat them right ( and I'm going too,my pretties) they will last until my daughter inherits them. She's going to have to yank them away from me ( I will clutch them harder than car keys)... I imagine I will be about 80 by then... they're so sweet. I know William Sonoma has lots of things you don't need, but if you want really nice cooking tools, and are willing to invest in a couple good pieces ( after a lot of pondering and drooling and in my case, hubby waiting patiently for me to make a not insane decision)... it's a good place to do it. P.S. If you think Hubby was being too extravagant for me, don't even get me started on the All Clad double boiler he decided he had to have last year to make custard for ice cream... it cost so much they threw in a gift card ( which is how I got my stir fry pan, amen). read more

There is something so comforting about this store. I feel right at home with all these high end kitchenware and cutlery even if I can't afford it. A girl can dream right? And when I dream of making those sumptuous 5 course meals, I'm thinking I need all of this. In reality, I come here when one of my kitchen equipment breaks down and I want to replace it with something of quality instead of cheap tools. Yes, they have lots and lots of unnecessary, one function tools but they look nice. But I swear, those kitchen towels and apron has lasted almost a lifetime. They also have variety of gourmet foodstuff items such as sauces, mixes and cookbooks which I think you can't go wrong with. So until I win the lottery, I'll still stopping by this place and picking up my item or two. read more

My experience at this store was anything but pleasant. The very rude manager Danielle is very snobby, I had proof of a defected item(within return window might I add) and she was trying to convince me it was not... with lots of attitude and anger towards me she continued to argue, saying to go directly to the manufacture In which I said I definitely would. She changed her mind at some point and returned the item because obviously it was defected- I'm not dumb and have eyes to see and well as asking friends for their opinion on the defect matter. All the employees were trying to side with her.. saying they don't see anything lol.. very rude and unprofessional. Will not shop at this location anymore as I won't be spending the big bucks to then have to deal with a disrespectful manager acting like a teenager. I'll stick to crate and barrel. read more

I like and have purchased many things over the years at William Sonoma but I do not recommend shopping at this store. I purchased Nespresso pods and indicated that I saw 2 signs that provided 2 different discounts. I wanted clarity and ensure the discounts were applied. Cashier Thania was not aware of what I was talking about. She escalated to someone else and then that person was rude to me and told me that there was fine print that stated what I was purchasing didn't include a discount. Both originally told me that I would get one or the other other discount and then they were short with me and then didn't give me ANY discount. I would not recommend going to this store. read more

Really disappointed in my experience with this company today. If I could give no stars I would. As with any person I received some gifts for Christmas which just didn't work for me. I intended to return these gifts to Williams Sonoma and was faced with a very frustrating experience when I attempted to do so. This is a digital world we are in now, where most people don't keep receipts and for that reason other business have put policies in place to prevent these issues from happening. As with most gifts you receive from other people, I did not have a receipt for the gift I wanted to return. I anticipated this may be an issue and I went in expecting they might be able to give me store credit for something else. With most other high end stores this is the norm. They error on the side of customer service and a good customer experience over prioritizing business profits knowing in the long run the good experience pays off even if they take a small loss on the issues associated with returns without a receipt. This is not the case with willams sonoma. They left me without an option but to get a receipt from the person who gave me the gift. Unfortunately this was not an option. I shared some feed back understanding that's the businesses policy and an employee has no control over changing it, but expected they could pass the feedback to corporate in hopes it may urge the company to reconsider their policy. The reason for this review is not necessarily the business policy, but rather the horrible attitude of the staff which came to light after my comment. They made it abundantly clear they could care less about my frustration and further more had a snarky attitude about it. Danielle was her name. As a manager in another retail business, if any one of my employees acted this way I would send them home on the spot. As a business, the most important person is the customer and no matter what the circumstances you should never treat them poorly. The tone of voice used by Danielle in addition to the comments made and the way she handled the situation has helped me reconsider shopping with Williams Sonoma. I will be sure to share with all my friends and family my experience and most certainly will never do business with them again. read more

Came in with my family to purchase a 10pc shun premier knife set for my wife on Mother's Day. We stood at the knives for ten minutes as the employees greeted anyone else who promptly said they didn't need help with the products that are set out. We however got no such treatment over with the knives that must have a employee to access. Multiple times did we try to find an employee to help us. Alas we finally gave up now that my children now know what it's like when you don't dress to what people expect in a "high end" store. Not that they will care as one customer is not going to hurt their bottom line but I will never set foot in one of their stores or shop online with them again. Your dreams can come true! I've mostly purchased their fancy drink-ware because drinking fancy scotch out of a $32.00 cut crystal glass makes the booze taste better. But seriously, their exclusive cut-crystal Triple Old Fashion glasses are amazing when it comes to soaking up those heavy handed pours. Being able to empty one bottle of Macallan 15 into 4 glasses is, apparently, a thing. I only need 3 more friends and 1 more bottle. Careful, though, the glasses will break when you hit them with metal silverware. My only suggestion is to place the cocktail olive or maraschino cherry gently into the glass and not attempt to knock the thing off your fork with the kind of force you'd find in a Walmart Managers meeting. I love this place. I always go in to peruse their kitchen gadgets, pots and pans, and appliances when I'm at the mall. Thanks for not calling security on the straight acting couple. Williams-Sonoma may not have the selection of Sur la Table but they make up for it in layout. They only carry the top of the line (complete with top of the line pricing). The lay out is nice the customer service is excellent. They really know their stuff. Note: in disclosure, I have lots of their stuff. My ex worked at the downtown store for a while and the employee discount was well used.... If you want something that will last longer then you do this is the place to buy it. Note: I have my Grandmothers La Creuset and it looks practically new (though they don't make that color anymore!). I always check out the sale tables in the back. There are good deals back there on their out of season or changing color items. The middle of the store has lots of food items. I skip those they are expensive and I have never been that impressed with them. read more

We didn't even get a hi when we entered. Poor customer service. We had purchase a beautiful bar ware set and coffee accessories on line . We were unaware of the 21 day return/exchange policy. When we had a problem with the "brass coating" on the ice bucket the manager told my husband she couldn't replace it. She went as far accusing my husband of damaging it himself. We would of been fine if we could of purchased a new lid. He had asked what could of caused this or how we could prevent this in the future and her very snide comment back was it wasn't her problem. As far as the milk warmer she had told it was over the time and that was all online purchases. Isn't it all the Williams-Sonoma company? I love this place. Wildly expensive, where you could save 30% at Bed Bath Beyond or Crate & Barrel, or... well.. most place. If you are thinking Sur La Table, and then want to save about 2.5%, come here. Haha.. I kid. We had some time to kill in Tigard before our Beaverton family got home from work last time we visited, so we took advantage of our time and registered for our big day. I know it is supposed to be fun, but it is. Ha. However.... mindless, time consuming, and exhausting. The staff, especially the middle aged British clerk, was phenomnal. Accessible, friendly, together... all while being short staffed. I was really impressed, because I thought this would be a 3 star "seen one seen em all....", but the selection here for cooking stuff was a bit expanded, and that staff made a huge difference. It's really expensive but really, really awesome kitchen stuff. Williams Sonoma is the seller of what I like to call "lazy cook tools" They have things such as Apple Corers, Tuna Can Drainers, Lemon Zesters. You can buy a roasting pan for a chicken AND one for a turkey. You can buy a mold to make your own popsicles. You can buy (tasty!) premade sauces, marinades, and dressings. To me it's worth the price, but I can see how some balk at it. read more

I.AM.DONE.WITH.WILLIAMS.AND.SONOMA. My husband graciously ordered a bread cloche for me for Mother's Day. That all went smoothly, we received it, wonderful. FOUR.MONTHS LATER. We get another pan and another charge. We call them, they tell us to return it. We return it, then they CHARGE US AGAIN! We call them, 46" later, they hang up on us after trying to transfer us to a department that is closed. So let me get this straight - you feel free to charge my credit card at your whim, don't work with me and hang up on me. This is so much of my life I can't get back. I have West Elm dishes, West Elm bar stools, pottery barn furnishing, and a Williams and Sonoma pan i never want to use again. I am so frustrated. You are all disgusting, and how you treat and abuse customers is something I never want to deal with EVER again. I needed a new bed and I love the pottery barn comforters but I'm moving on to something else. And celebrities who push this stuff without understanding how corrupt they are is mind numbing. You can't even contact them with an e-mail - they know they are corrupt and they make it hard to work with them because that is part of the money making strategy. read more

I don't know what happened.... I'm baffled.... I love WS, I really do. That being said, I've noticed a lot of people that helped me before are no longer working there.... The friendly ones who were kind and very knowledgable about the products have been replaced by the "B team" apparently. I walked in knowing what I wanted but got completely turned off by the sales associate "M".... I was getting some water and he was just in my face asking what I came in for... I should've just told him "some free water actually!" but I figured I would be nice and let his initially off putting demeanor go. But when responding to my questions about the product, he was just really short and off putting. Maybe I'm just used to better service and treatment??? Anyhow, long story short, I walked out empty-handed and am now wondering where else I can buy the item. Sad.... read more

I went in here to buy a ton of things for our Thanksgiving dinner. The staff was beyond helpful. I fell in love with some Le Creuset pieces in a particular color. They didn't have anymore, but they went out of their way to find them for me from a different store. Someone even helped me load stuff in my car for me! A $9.99 return was like the world coming to an end with no receipt. I will not be back and I sure as hell will tell everyone I know about the horrible service. Extremely rude woman behind the cash register. The customer before us had to go find something else and told her to ring me up for my one item, a can opener while she looked around some more.......the cashier instead proceeds to glare at me and start ringing up the other woman's items and told me I'd have to wait. Which I did for over five minutes until a nice young man finally came over to the other register to help me. My fiance and I did our wedding registry here today with Cynthia. It was a PHENOMENAL experience. First off, we were able to get into the store an hour before they opened, which is amazing in and of itself. Ever been to Disneyland and had a Magic Morning? It's like that, but for home goods. There was fresh apple cinnamon bread, strawberries, and coffee made to order. Cynthia was super helpful, but not obtrusive, which was the perfect balance. She gave us a check list of things that we should select as well as some tips and tricks. WS also offers $20 off of a full price item $100+ (with some exclusions) on the day that you create your registry and a completion discount. As heavy cookers, my fiance and I love every experience at Williams-Sonoma, but this one was EXTRA. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a place to do their registry. read more

Horrible customer service!! I would give zero stars if I could. We purchased a Calphalon pan at Williams-Sonoma a little over a year ago. Lately we started noticing that the coating is coming off. Everytime we use it a black film forms on the ring - gross! I called into Williams-Sonoma and asked about their return policy because we couldn't find the reciept. The manager said that if it was defective they would take it back and issue a store credit. So, we brought it in. The manager looked at it, I showed him where the coating is coming off, and using a tiny bit of oil showed him how the black stuff would come off. He said that that should not happen, but then he said it was not defective and that they would not take it back!! Unbelievable!! Williams-Sonoma used to be a good company that stood behind its products - I guess those days are over. I'll be shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond from now on! read more

I'm a fan of this culinary dream store - when it comes to the accoutrements for the perfect meal, be it holiday time or not, I find myself seeking out the goodies they have in this lovely mall location. Easy to get to (since trekking about the mall is NOT my idea of a good time) - IF you park between Nordies and the Cheesecake Factory, you will find a beautiful assortment of bakeware, pots and pans, coffee makers (some are so beautiful, I just had to ogle them) and other useful stuff like Riedel stemware (the BEST!). And if you think this is only grown up fun, think again, I found my favorite STAR WARS cookie cutters here, a fat boy gingerbread mold and more fun treats than you would expect. The only downside of this store - I can't afford most of what I ogle and lust after, but, hey, that doesn't make it bad, just means I wish I had more dough (pun intended) to spend when I venture in. They have really good service and the store is impeccable. Come gape at the cool stuff you need and want! read more

Rant alert. Lots of friendly sales staff and some nice stuff. But also lots of old-school sneaky tricksy customer-unfriendly practices. Example: They were hyping a 10% credit toward a future purchase on whatever you bought before Christmas. But when we tried to use this credit, turns out that it cannot be used on sale items, cannot be used on about half the brands they sell, cannot be used on-line, etc. Example: In the online store they hype Free Shipping! Extra Discount! But if you try to use the Free Shipping! then you don't get the Extra Discount!, and vice versa, which you don't find out until you are trying to check out. Particularly at the relative high end of the market, other retailers tend to not be so heavy with the flim flam. read more

I always liked this store and purchased little things,however,I recently purchased an expensive breville coffee machine,and after 2 weeks of my purchase it went on sale,I called the store to ask for a price adjustment since it went on sale right after I bought it,and one of the managers Brittany was so rude to me,telling me how they dont do ,that like I've asked for a full refund back,and she sounded frustrated through the whole process,because she did end up adjusting the price ( the fair thing to do) al the big companies do that including Nordstrom,they just think they are it,they are so important,anyway,I don't think I will ever shop at this store again,I will not support that kind of behavior,and a company that doesn't care to help the customer at all.In the end she hung up on me and said the meanest Bye.Sorry William Sonoma,but you just lost a customer and I will make sure to tell people what kind of employees you have.pretty sad about it read more
