I love Ace Hardware! Even though independently owned, all of the stores have the "usual suspects" for a hardware store, plus amazing finds in the housewares, kitchen and garden departments. Beautiful Caspari brand cocktail napkins in a variety of beautiful and artistic designs, perfect for elevating your entertaining game, can be found in the kitchen area. I'm all about cooking gadgets and they have lots! On this recent stop, I fell in love with the bamboo cooking and serving utensils, many with a subtle, yet interesting, tie dye style prints. The garden area has fun, whimsical yard art, lots of wind chimes, and really pretty hummingbird feeders along with flower & vegetable seeds, planters, gloves and tools. On this trip, I was looking for a small outdoor grill, but I need one that hooks up to natural gas. They include BBQ Grills in their name, but still no luck. I'll have to visit a store dedicated to BBQ grills to find one as I've tried the big box stores and smaller chains And came up with nothing. Trying to find a replacement spray bottle for my daughter during the heat of the summer, as Grocery Outlet directed me here, as they didn't have the $3.99 personal sprayer I was looking for. While Ace was VERY pricey on the sprayers they had, they did have vwey reasonably priced soil, compost, fertilizer and river rock. This Ace location is very nice ans spacious. As soon as I walked in, EVERY employee at the front greeted me. Then asked if I could use help and took me exactly where I needed to be. I did end up buying something but I can't for the life of myself remember what it was now. But this Ace location is great!! read more

I had small pools of water in my crawl space and bought a wet and dry shop vacuum from Ace to address it. As soon as I used the shop vacuum the first and only time, I quickly saw that it underperformed and wasn't going to do the job I needed. 9 days later, after making sure to clean and box it up, I brought it back to return. The employee declined the return due the item having been opened and used. I expressed disappointment as there was no disclosure on the receipt about opened items not qualifying for returns. The only printed policy was returns needing to be within 30 days. His response was that no returns on opened items was on the signage at the back of the store with the equipment. I have no gripes with the cashier as they are very friendly but their lack of transparency around their strict return policy is very frustrating. read more

For overall customer service, the store is great... they have helped me over the years with projects that required knowledge and information. Unfortunately in the case that I'm about to tell you about, they did not help at all. I had bought an O'Cedar spray mop, and I wanted to exchange it, but they would not exchange it. O'Cedar customer service refunded my money. I was very pleased with that because it had taken quite a while to get through to someone and I needed the item very badly because it's one of those things you can't do without in your home. The Ace Hardware store where I bought it in King city failed to inform me that I should've gone straight to the manufacturer and so things took quite a while. I used my gift certificate to purchase a Casabella infusion mop from target, and I'm quite pleased with it. read more

My first time at this Ace location. I'm familiar with this shopping center, but I never knew it was here from the parking lot entrance that I come through. A product I was looking for wasn't at the two Ace locations nearest me, but this Tigard location had it, and Becky, who was at the front, greeted me and was so courteous to look up the item for me and show me where it was. She was very courteous, professional, and efficient. It is a clean store, and I'm glad I know where it is now. read more

I purchased 3 items from the Newburg Ace hardware on my way home to Tigard tje parts did not fit so I took them to my face hard ware only to be Denied a refund . what I do not understand is if they are all one store why would you not take the item back still in package only bought an hour prior, instead I would have to drive them back to Newburg for a 20 dollar refund. Had the hardware i needed for a project, however the gentleman at the counter just didn't want to be there. I had grabbed some flat washers and a few smaller ones were caught in between. The guy basically told me to walk my happy ass back there and take a photo of the price? Your telling me he couldn't be assed to do so? Not a great experience at ALL. read more

Came into this store and was very impressed by the selection, and organization initially. But immediately I knew that I was going to be profiled when three different employees asked me if I needed any help, when the answer the first time was "no, just looking around." Loud enough for them all to hear. I guess they refused to believe that I couldn't come into the store, and browse some merchandise without stealing something. After I considered buying jigsaw blades, and then putting them back, I went to the counter and paid for the 3 items. As I was checking out the women asked me if there was anything else, twice, and I repeated no twice. She then something about trying, and trailed off while "mike" came up to me and accused me of having unpaid merchandise in my front right pocket. I emptied both my pockets, told him that I didn't have any unpaid merchandise on my person. He continued to accuse me, showing me a video of what he thought was me stealing. The video was simply me putting my phone in my pocket after sending a text. It's a shame that there is still so much judgment from some people. I hate to say it because not all are like this, but we will be able to evolve much easier into a more cohesive, supportive society this mentally dies out. Thanks mike. This store opening over the summer is the best thing that has happened in 2020! But, seriously. Curtis and Mike (owners) are always so helpful and knowledgeable when I have questions. They also own the Canby Ace Hardware if you're ever out that way! Staff remember my name and always greet me with a smile. If you want great customer service, look no further.
