It's been more than a minute since we've been into Wildflower and I guess we should of stopped in sooner. We were looking for a good Reuben sandwich and from the reviews on yelp we decided to give it a try. The service was very good and the staff was very helpful and the food was delightful. I had the Reuben and French onion soup. My wife also had a Reuben and tomato basil soup. The sandwich was top notch and the rye bread was what you would expect from Wildflower. As a new Tempe resident I was looking for new places to go when I stumbled upon this cute joint! I'm a crazy for a nice lunch date! Me and my girlfriends in rotary came here last Thursday for our weekly meeting and I was so pleasantly pleased! This is for sure our new hangout spot. I ordered the blt with potato soup, a must try. Came here after searching on Yelp for a good lunch spot and Yelp came through for us. We were in the area and stopped here for an early lunch. I ordered a turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich, which was just great. Not completely unusual as the sandwiches are pretty common but if not done right, they can taste "off". This one was put together well, didn't fall apart, and tasted great. We also ordered avocado toast and a tuna sandwich and both were solid. We love Wildflower but today it was EXTRA good! My sister and I split a Ruben sandwich and Sean H. made it for us - BEST one we've ever had! The meat was cut thin and nice and hot, and the meat was well spread out with n the delicious rye bread (which was toasted perfectly) so there were no "empty" bites - each bite had perfect combo of meat, sauerkraut, and yummy thousand island dressing (hate it when the insides of a sandwich are all in the middle and you get a lot of bites of bread with no good stuff). I asked for extra thousand island dressing and our server Brittany brought it to us quickly. She was awesome and so helpful! Total yum! read more

I just moved to Tempe and was looking for a nice place to eat and get some studying/ work done and came across Wildflower. This is such a perfect place for lunch, they have large tables and booths perfect for getting work done since they have wifi. I ordered half a Turkey and Brie sandwich with an Asian salad it was so so good and filling. The dressing they used on the salad was so good. The staff at Wildflower was also really great they were kind and answered all of the questions I had about the menu. I will definitely be coming back, maybe next time for breakfast or their baked goods. read more

I was doing a search for a place that has a good steak and blue cheese salad. I came across WildFlower. I see them all around town but have never tried them before. As I was browsing online and examining the menu, many items appealed to me so I thought I would give it a try. Let's just say that I was not disappointed. This location is connected to a long time bookstore, kinda cool vibe. I was able to find a table immediately. It's a walk-in type setup. Today I tried the Meatballs and Ricotta Toast. Bam! Spot on and I was impressed with the rich pasta sauce. It tasted as if it was home made with very deep flavors. I also tried the mac and cheese. It was great but it was different. I kinda think that it had a hint of pimento as part of the ingredients. Never the less it was delicious. And I also ordered a garden salad and I added protein (steak). OMG! It was love at first bite. This garden salad was packed with all types of healthy ingredients and the steak was cook to a perfect medium rare. It was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back to order this one again. I think that I will try the steak and bleu cheese salad the next time. The restaurant is very well organized and the servers were very accommodating. I did not have to wait very long at all for my food to be served and when my food did hit my table I realized that I ordered way too much food!! Lol. No problem. Oh! And the food The food was super FRESH. I was provided with take out containers for the food that I did not consume. This was an exciting find because I have passed this establishment many times in many locations around the east valley where I live and I always thought for some reason that this place would not be for me. Wrong! Dead wrong.... I will be putting WildFlower into my regular rotation of places to eat. And trust and believe, that list is not a very long list, but I can easily say that Wildflower is THAT PLACE. Salute!!!!! read more

Well today was a miss for sure. My daughter and I came for dinner after dance and ordered Mac and cheese kids meal and I had an Asian salad. We ordered at 6:05, and 20 mins later I just have my salad and waiting for our kids Mac and cheese. I have a pouty and hungry 4.5 year old... not sure that I'll go here again with the kids. I know staffing is short and things are a bit slower, but Mac and cheese? Well they made up for it, the staff apologized and gave us double side of fruit. My family and I are normally regulars at Panera, but a friend mentioned Wildflower to me and after her raving review, I had to try. We all went in last Wednesday night and were greeted by the most pleasant staff! We had no clue what to try, so we went up to the manager Sean and he gave us some great recommendations. He had us try the chopped salad with salmon, the rosemary chicken pasta, and offered up Mac and cheese for our daughter. She's normally a picky eater, but she loved this Mac and cheese. We split the salad and the pasta and both meals were to die for. Sean came over to check on us and we raved about the food to him! Absolutely atrocious experience with this Wildflower and GrubHub. NOONE notified me that they were here to deliver the food-no text, no call, no knock on the door-NOTHING. I decided to go down to the hotel lobby and see if they inadvertently left it at the front desk and there the bag was sitting at my door. Food arrived cold (soup); salad was warm and the cookie I ordered was not in the bag. Yelp website for the order states to contact GrubHub and they could care less. Luckily the hotel I'm staying at had a microwave so that I could heat up the soup. Couldn't eat the salad and like I said, the cookie wasn't in the bag. For a $20 food order and $15+ in fees in this is what I get. I would NEVER use GrubHub again if this is the representation of their service and customer service department. read more

The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

I was super stoked to check a place with "retro" in the name out, and I gotta be honest here, I left with pretty mixed emotions about a lot of things. The restaurant itself is pretty boring inside, mostly just being black with a few small pictures hanging up. I was kind of expecting big retro movie posters or something hanging around, but I definitely didn't get much of a retro vibe from this place minus a small neon "bar" sign and a claw machine in the corner. The menus were very cool, right by the front door its a record shelf and the records were the menus, so thumbs up for that idea. I thought i was mistaken, but I don't remember seeing sandwich prices on the actual menu, but as I look at other photos on yelp it does appear that the sandwiches don't have prices attached to them, which explains why I was thrown off by the end price. I settled on ordering the "take on me" which was black forest ham, roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayo on a Hawaiian style roll. I also ordered a sprite and a chocolate chip cookie as a side. The chocolate chip cookie was okay, pretty standard cookie though definitely not worth $3.75. The sprite was $2.99, and the sandwich came to $15.58. I was also charged $0.96 for something called the advantage program which I have no idea what that is. I gotta say, spending over $25 on a sandwich, a small cookie, and a drink is not something I would care to do at a place like this. The sandwich itself was very good, I won't deny that. The meat tasted fresh, and when it was all together it was definitely a good sandwich, but when there's not combo option and a basic sandwich, cookie, and drink ends up being $25 it's gonna be a no from me on returning in the future. Staff were very friendly and the place was busy during lunch time so usually that says plenty. The Reuben was tasty, definitely not the best that I've had but I would get it again. The cheese wasn't melted enough and I asked for an extra side of thousand island dressing, so they didn't put any on the sandwich. Just little things that weren't done right. I tried it on their focaccia bread. Loved the rosemary flavor and it was a lot thicker and softer than your usual focaccia. I prefer the more dense and crunchy kind but that's just a personal preference. Their restroom was clean but when you open the door to the back, it smells foul. Almost like a sewer smell, very off putting when you are about to eat. Overall not a bad experience.

It's not often that I witness Cubanos on the menu and so that was my order served with French fries, extra crispy, please. My Cubano was near perfect let down only by sweet versus dill pickles. That's simply my personal preference and did not get in the way of my sucking down the whole sandwich and most of the fries. We will definitely return and I heartedly recommend to those who have not yet been. Cheers!
