Nice place to get lunch if you are driving through Redding. Their Falafel Pita Wrap and Lemonade were excellent. The wrap is served like a taco with pita as its base and includes three pieces of falafel topped with shredded cabbage and creamy cilantro dressing. Had the eggplant sandwich and it was excellent! Eggplant is one of those vegetables that can be tricky to cook. There is very little time on the grill between raw to soggy but these cooks knew exactly how to cook and season it. Friendly employees. Fast service. I'm a big fan of this place. I admit that I always get a version of the Buddha bowl, but someone I'm with usually orders one of Wildas delicious hot dogs. It's all good! The onion rings are also a yummy surprise and something we always have to get. The service is quick and the workers are always nice. The place is clean and has plenty of seating inside and out. I honestly have no complaints! We've eaten there more than a dozen times and never had a bad experience. We were driving down from Oregon and decided to stop in Redding for bite to eat. My wife looked up Wilda's on Yelp. The menu sounded great so we dropped by for lunch. The place was clean, neat, busy, and had outdoor seating as we had our dog with us. I ordered the Buddha Bowl with chicken and Julie had the Falafel sandwich. The dressing for the Bowl on top of the cabbage was excellent. The Falafel was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spices. Wilda's is the Besttt!! As a vegan of 5 years, and someone with lactose intolerance and severe food allergies, I have experience with how to order in restaurants. But I still have to worry about the restaurant not making my food correctly, either unintentionally, by mistake, or sometimes, sadly even on purpose. That said, Wilda's is consistently amazing. I have not ONCE *knock on wood, haha* had a negative experience with them messing up one of my vegan orders. (And I order from them a lot). I cannot say the same for really, almost any other restaurant! That, and their food just simply kills. The food gets the 4 stars!!! The Buddha bowl is the best I have tasted bar none! Their service is quick and friendly. The only complaint is that the place is very small. It can only seat about 10 people inside (that's very crowded already). There is outside seating but definitely not the best when you're in the middle of the Redding summer or as this winter is proving, a very wet one! Parking is also very limited (room doe only 3-4 cars if that). Get your food to go and enjoy is so where else. Tip: Order 10-15 minutes ahead and your wait will be minimized to a few minutes. Update: This new spot they have is so much better. Even though it's a little farther than where we live, I will definitively drive the extra mile or two for their food. Increased to 5 stars!!! PS I was told that they will be opening another Wilda's downtown Redding close to their old spot which is going to be great!!! PSS Avoid the lunch crowd. Chicken Buddha bowl was ok. It would have been so much better if it wasn't so tightly packed in the container. It was very hard to mix. I really liked the creamy spicy garlic sauce on top. Could have used more of that, especially when I got to the bottom and it was just bland rice and beans. The falafel was amazing. My husband ordered a hot mess and that was pretty good too. Passing through and looking for a dog friendly, real-food option. Ordered two Buddah Bowls --- these are large portions - we could have shared one between us. I ordered "for here" but these still came in a Chinese Take Out box style container (with very cool fork/chopsticks--a contender for bumping the mighty spork). This means you have a hearty portion of cabbage to navigate to get to the meat, rice, beans, cilantro -- I would prefer a reusable bowl so that I could mix my ingredients with ease. I hated to do it, but could only give one star today as menu items were missing. My hot dog was to have sauerkraut, etc. I had a huge pile of onions, but couldn't find the sauerkraut. My friend ordered the Hot Mess, but found the serving noticeably smaller and he could not find a single onion ring. The food we were served was good enough, but glaring omissions on each serving are not not really forgivable. Im not completely sold on this place yet. I love the falafel wrap and thats all I'll ever order here. When I come with friends usually they want nothing on the menu. I dont blame them either, wildas needs a wider variety of choices and more cohesion between the menu items. The food is good. My problem is the service with an attitude- always. If being trendy and attracting a specific crowd is important to you that doesnt mean everyone on your staff needs to be under 25 and hate their lives. Note: just changed it to two stars, when realizing that they don't even recycle their trash. There was only one big trash bin. So, the three stars are for the taste of the food and the service. My husband and I both had the Buddha Bowl and the taste was great! BUT when the menu says it has avocado in it, I kind of expected more than three think slices. The same goes for the falafel - my bow had two small pieces in it. But what made me give only three starts is actually that fact that all their utensils are of plastic. Plates, cutlery, glass - every is of plastic. And not the recycled ones. Even if you eat in the restaurant everything is served on or in plastic. Their Buddha bowl is a weird dish. Every ingredient is unseasoned- bland rice, beans, boiled chicken and flavorless tofu. The only little flavor is in the slaw and tiny bit of sauce they pour over. Don't understand why it's so popular. read more

I love the budda bowl with chicken. I also get extra sauce but I was told my last order I would have to pay extra for a little container of sauce. Supply chain issues. Really. Thats the reason everyone uses to raise prices. So that's why 4stars. I would be happy to pay for that little extra sauce just don't make lame excuses for now charging for it. Obviously if a lot of customers need extra sauce that should tell you to include extra sauce. Nice strip mall storefront with tables out front. Pleasant server who was nonplussed by our rearranging of the menu. Had 3 dogs, onion rings and fries. Good toppings and a nice bun. Mine had the homemade chili on it and it was tasty and the bun was soft but didn't fall apart. The other two dogs had bacon bits aplenty and were very much consumed. The fries were excellent - crunchy with good flavor. The onion rings were good and super crispy but would benefit from a more flavorful onion (could just be the time of year). Menu is short, but very easy to make your own. Overall, I will be visiting them again the next time I come through town. Think I will try the Buddha bowl next. I recommend you give them a try. read more
