I've been going here for a long time. I usually get a Buddha Bowl. The food is pretty great. However the last few times I've gone in there I have gotten the weirdest service. And this stems from far before COVID-19 and labor shortages. The staff seem distant, cold, hard to relate with. Lastly, the entire place smelled of mildew so bad that my to-go, in my car... on the way home...smelled of mildew. I thought of calling the place to let them know, but really didn't want to offend anyone as they seemed unapproachable. Anyway, the food is pretty great. And since I'd like to see this place stay open for a very long time, I'll bump up from 3 stars. Maybe they have been hit really hard with labor shortages. read more

Wildas is a hit or miss place for me. Their budda bowls are famous in Redding but when I tried one is was okay. Good but not amazing. The cabbage didn't seem super duper fresh. But it's a good place if you're in the mood for some fast food style onion rings and that type of thing. Their falafel wraps are pretty good too. I think a little updating and freshening up their menu would take it from good to great. read more

This place is so good and original! They have a healthy option for their Buddha bowl and online you can adjust so many things to your liking. Then if your in a mood for a hot mess that's more of a divulgence it's amazing as well. Don't forget the Hot Pastrami tho!! Stopped by on our way from Bend, OR and Davis, CA. Looked up on Yelp and it had great reviews and we know why. Wife and daughter each had a Buddha bowl and loved it. Super fresh, great ingredients, and good size. The wait was a bit long but when you have super fresh food that tastes outstanding we can understand why. I didnt know what to expect from this place, I came around 12:30pm and it was crackin! The moved quickly and my order was out soon enough. I got the buddy bowl just the way it comes, wow it was so good! I love the sauces they put on it. I was intimidated by the fact it came in a tall take out box because I like to mix my food first, this was no problem at all. The cool chopstick fork they give you really helps with that. I would like more chicken in my bowl but I'm a protein freak. This place is great and while they have other options available I would come back for that bowl! read more

My review is actually a little late coming. We go to Redding once a week for groceries and other incidentals . We happened upon Wilda's and decided to give it a try . My boyfriend ordered the Budda bowl and I got the chili dog. We were excited because of all the five star reviews . Disappointed can't describe the way we felt about the food. It was the worst thing I've ever tried to eat and my boyfriend felt the same . The salad was a bunch of cabbage with a dressing that tasted like bad cole slaw . The chili on the hot dog was tomato sauce warmed up and thrown on a bad hot dog. Don't waste your money or time eating there . read more

I literally cannot say enough about the Buddha Bowl and Sweet Potato Fries. This place is so addicting. I've been in Redding for 7 weeks and I've tried many different places, but Wilda's never disappoints. I keep coming back again and again! The food speaks for itself because it is INCREDIBLE in terms of taste and quality, but I also really appreciate the fast and friendly service! I had the Hot Pastrami and it was pretty darn good. There was just the right amount of pastrami, grilled onion, yellow mustard, and pepperoncinis. The bun, it was perfectly toasted and soft, just the way I like it. My co-worker had the Hot Mess and he said it was pretty good. As for the service, the service was a hit or miss. I received my food in a timely manner but my co-worker's took longer. They also forgot to give him his drink and asking for a to-go fork took them a bit to provide him with one. Wilda's is one of my favorite places to eat in town! There's honestly not many dynamic restaurants to choose from when it comes to good food options in Redding, especially compared to the plethora of options in larger cities, but this place is an exception! I absolutely love their Buddha bowls which is the sole thing I come for every time. It's on the healthier side, is super tasty and filling, and doesn't leave you feeling like crap afterwards. Their service is also notably quick and the food comes out fresh and hot. A must try! I hope they expand and get a location in Sacramento soon (one day hopefully!), otherwise I'm going to miss this place! read more

I ordered the falafel sandwich. The bread/naan was excellent and the falafel itself had great flavor although it wasn't as crisp on the outside as I normally like and ended up a bit soft by the time I finished the sandwich. The majority of the sandwich was shredded lettuce with A LOT of sauce on top. The sauce was ok, but not fantastic and there was way too much of it. I suppose I am more of a traditional falafel sandwich sort of person, in the traditional Mediterranean style or Middle Eastern style. This was essentially some halfway decent falafel lost in a pile of shredded lettuce and sauce. It's OK it may even be considered pretty good for the area, it's really just OK. If I come back I definitely tell them to cut the lettuce and the sauce and at least half. read more

For those local to Redding and points north you know what I'm talking about. You can get hella lost in the Trinity Wilderness. And I'm thinking that since we're going to be wanting to be hella lost for at least four years why not the Trinity's they're so close. OK. Good. Established. Now this and maybe even more important because there isn't much time left. You need to be getting your Wilda's on. For my Bay Area brethren you can stop here each and every time you come up these next few months while looking for the place with the proper exposure for the panels and water. And you'll be all oh my look at what they have such delicious choices then you'll end up eating only the Buddha Bowl for days and you're cool with the rest because that Bowl is pretty near perfect. For locals I'd just say what you know already may as well eat at Wilda's every day because you won't be wanting grid soon and even Redding counts he knows where you live. You'll be hanging w my homies in the woods. And for those of you that have made it this far and are still what the f is he talking about what I'm talking about is this - Wilda's is good people serving up some pretty amazing food. I've been going to Wilda's for the Chicken Flipped Extra Sauce Buddha Bowl for several years. Since the COVID closure, I've had the best bowl ever in the afternoon by the lady with short dark hair ;-), but recently they have hired some young ones that have no idea how to cook. The beans are par cooked and terribly grainy, the cabbage is now bagged and wilted sort of brownish tinged, chicken tastes pre cooked and microwave reheat (you know, like dirty hair), not enough jalapeño and too much rice. No more folding chinese food box, now its a cardboard sandwich box which caused everything to be served cooled off. The sauce is the bomb, otherwise I would give only one star. read more

I was driving for hours and just wanted something to eat. Well that's exactly what I got! Just something to eat so wont starve. Nothing special. The food was so oily that I could only eat half of the pastrami sandwich and I had to use three napkins while I was eating to clean all the oil that was dripping from the sandwich. This was not "yummy oil" it was just greasy food that you would feel like crap afterwards for eating it. I also ordered the CHICKEN salad (Buddha salad) but they said that they ran out of chicken! It was still 3pm and they ran out of chicken! Can you believe that! They gave me the spicy tofu which tasted more like water than anything else. The only nice thing I can say about this visit was that the cashier was a nice and polite and that is why I gave the review a two stars instead of one. Creative restaurant in Redding! We were driving back to Oregon and as vegetarians we were kind of skeptic about food in the area. Got the Buddha bowl and falafel, and both were awesome. The veggies were fresh and the Buddha bowl lived up to the hype, interesting combinations with beans avocados, etc. The bowl tasted refreshing and sized correctly for one person. The falafel could have been better , it was very dry and hard on the outside. The sauces on top made it easier to eat. Couple of small improvements could be made though, the disposable bowl sizes are difficult to eat from, I kept spilling everything time I tried take a spoon out of it. The falafel wraps could also be done better. The whole thing falls apart before you even take the first bite. read more

Not a lot of options out here in this small country town but after scanning thru yelp reviews I found this little gem. Definitely try and call your order in if you can, it makes it a little quicker. This place is pretty busy no matter what time of the day you go. I came here 2 days in a row actually!! Noon and 2 and both slammed! I had to try the chicken Buddha bowl the first day since like 90% of the reviews are about that. It was really good! Great value for only $6 I was able to have lunch and a partial dinner! It's full of cabbage and avocados and rice and beans and chicken. Only thing I was sad about was it wasn't a huge portion of chicken. If you like lots of meat might want to order extra chicken. They have siracha and their homemade honey mustard which I added both to the dish and it helped spice it up a little for me. The second day I wanted to try two different dishes in case it was my last visit since I'll be flying back to Austin, Texas soon. I had the hot pastrami sandwich and the falafel dish. The pastrami was very tasty. The bread was very soft and it was loaded with jack cheese and peppers and onions. Very flavorful, I didn't even use any sauce which is not like me. He falafel had to be my favorite! I'm not sure why more people haven't raved about those! They weren't too dry like some. The thing I enjoyed most about the dish was the yogurt cilantro dressing omg it was like liquid crack! If I go back I think I'll try the Buddha bowl with the cilantro dressing added!! Wilda's Grill, I like you but I don't love you. I like how approachable and friendly everyone was, but I really hate the miniature parking lot and the tiny seating area. Driving from Ashland, OR to SF.... Wilda's is six or seven minutes off HWY 5, and is a mostly outdoors restaurant with outdoor counters and seating. Food is a healthy take of truck stop food. I ordered the Buda Bowl. I did not like it. The top part of my Buda Bowl was bombarded with thousand island dressing. The dressing made my stomach feel bloated after eating six or seven bites. The Buda Bowl was strike one. I went back a few weeks latter. I ordered a pastrami sandwich. Strike two. I will never go back. The pastrami tasted like it had been marinated in sawdust. The meat had no flavor. The pastrami was paper thin. I could not taste Wilda's "famous" mustard because the sandwich was drenched with way, way too many grilled onions and yellow pepperoncinis. I give Wilda's grill a two star review because my side order of onion rings and exotic dipping sauce tasted superb. read more
