The food in this particular Wild Ginger is phenomenal. If you don't mind the horrible service... The 3 different women that served our quiet party of 4 were very nasty and unaccomidating. They we're impolite and muttered rude remarks under their breath in Chinese when we asked for the sake on the menu (little did we know they didn't even have any liquor). Service is bad, I asked for ice and the server looked at me and said we're a vegan restaurant, that's unhealthy. I was baffled. Then I ordered a meal that I saw from yelp and he just brings me out a seaweed salad. I asked him after what is this and he then proceeds to explain that I didn't order the right thing even though I showed a picture and expressed I wanted the exact thing. My friend also ordered a meal, they messed that up as well. We were also THE ONLY table in this place. We made reservations for a group of 9, for a birthday dinner. The staff was very ready to receive us, and easily accommodated a 15-month-old child by providing a high chair. Food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. Service was excellent, especially when a server was playing with the child! They didn't end up charging us for the birthday dessert (the peanut butter chocolate cake, which is phenomenal), which was a very pleasant surprise, and shows that they care about their customers. Also, having a 100% vegan restaurant meant we could simply order anything on the menu, which is great for us! If we lived closer, probably would go more often! read more

The food is fine. The prices okay if not a little steep for this sort of fare. But the one thing that they lose a star for and for which other Yelp reviews criticize them on is the service. It's functional but has all the warmth of a robot. I understand it's hard to do your job all the time with a smile but wow, these ladies no matter how much I smiled or thanked them would barely grunt a reply. Came in on a weekday afternoon with a friend for lunch as a first timer. The restaurant was super futuristic looking and pleasant to enjoy a dine-in lunch. We ordered spring rolls and the scallion pancake as appetizers and they were great! Although, I do wish there were more than two tiny spring rolls. Just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed the food here. My friend is a vegan so this was an opportune moment for me to experience a true vegan restaurant. My friends and I ordered the Scallion Pancakes and Avocado tartar as starters. I personally enjoyed the pancakes very much. They were light and came with a nice mango salsa on top. The avocado tartar was mediocre and the sauce tasted more like pure soy sauce than a lime-wasabi sauce. For the main entree, I ordered the Mango Soy Protein which was quite excellent and the "meat" specifically was very delicious. It was sauteed in onions, zucchini, bell peppers, and mangos in a nice plum sauce and came with brown rice. Overall, food was deserving of 4 stars. The reason I bumped it down to 3 was for the service. Our waitress was very cold, rude, and short with us for no reason. At first, we thought that we had arrived right at closing, but the restaurant didn't close for another 2 hours. But aside from the service the food was excellent and I'm excited to try out the other meat-free dishes this place has to offer. read more

Food, ambience and service were mediocre on a Saturday night around 9:30. Brought family here who were visiting from out of town and they were all disappointed. It wasn't even busy. Got the orange seitan (which I think was too soft and would have tasted better crispier), mango mint roll (could barely taste the mint and the roll itself was poorly put together), bbq ribs, and pineapple fried rice which seemed to have tiny pieces of fake meat and tasted bland. When I finished the order, the confirmation message stated close to 50 minutes of waiting time. When an hour passed away, I called to check on the status, and the woman who answers stated they just opened and it will take another 30 minutes. ( I was amazed no one called or notified us of the delay) after 10 minutes I called again, and then the lady told me that two items on my order were missing and I asked her why are you adverting on your menus that you have l items that you don't carry, and she didn't have an answer. Her dealing with me was rude. She didn't offer any compensation. And the food arrived close to 2 hours from the initial order time. Never in my life wrote a bad review, but I feel that in this case, the restaurant degraded me took me for granted. What a wonderful restaurant Wild Ginger was, for us to find, as our daughter is vegan. The menu is extraordinary, full of exclusively vegan options. We enjoyed Singapore Noodles, seitan with Chinese broccoli, scallion pancake with mango salsa, and a wonderful smoothie with banana, almond butter, and berries. We ordered eggplant with miso, it's not bad but I find it a bit on the oily side. Pho was good with mock meat, pad Thai was also tasty except I wish there's more veritable. I'm not sure what all the high stars are about for this place as I was far from impressed. Personally I won't ever come back and I even have money left over on a gift card. The food quality is low and the service is sub par (hope you don't need anything after the food is dropped as they won't return to the table). Also is appears the staff is most interested in sitting behind the register and playing on their cell phones then actually greeting and serving customers. When we first walked in I felt not welcomed, the entire place was empty except for one lady sitting alone, but I decided to give it a try as my husband has decided to become vegan recently. It was my husband and I plus our 15 month old baby, a high chair was never offered even though in my opinion a restaurant should always have them available. The food was good but the customer service was the worse I seen in a while, after the food was brought they never came to check on us or to even ask if we needed anything else. There was two waiters and no one else to attend as their one other customer had left. Their faces the entire time was like they didn't want to bother with any human interaction. Terrible. My husband even had to get up and go see them to be able to get our bill while he was doing that I was walking around and playing with my son, who happened to drop his hat on the floor in front of one of the waiters, she actually walked around it and kept moving. Unbelievable this was the last straw for me, needless to say I will NEVER EVER come to this place again. I guess their listing moved? Well I'm moving my review right with it! Here goes: My first impression was a pretty poor one. I went at 10:30 on a Saturday night (they have listed that they close at 11:30) and it was empty. Ok fine. They didn't seem very happy by their body language and demeanor as they said we suggest takeout because we're closing soon. Ok, there's an hour left. So I told them I came here to eat not to take out. They said our kitchen closes in half hour I said ok what does that mean? I can place an order in 10 minutes they said you sure you don't want take out? I said yes I don't live around here where am I going to eat on the street?? So at that point I felt that I should probably just leave because me and my friend were not welcomed off the bat and I was guessing the service and food would reflect that. But I was hungry and didn't feel like looking for a new place so I just said whatever let me stay since they eventually said ok sit here. So I looked at the menu and everything looked good then the waitress came very quickly again and reminded us that their kitchen closes in 30 minutes (as if that's not enough time to order) so I said ok give me 2 minutes and we can order. Then a different waitress came, and spoke very illegibly with a heavy accent and was kind of a low talker. We placed the order and then literally like 2 minutes later the food started coming out. The soup was pretty good but cold, I figured let me not make a fuss, the scallion pancake was small and cold and then the entrees came. One of the entrees was completely wrong so I told her this is not what I ordered she said oh that's what I heard and I said we'll that's not what I said, they weren't even close. So she said sorry we can't change kitchen closed this is tasty also. I was just frustrated and hungry so I was like whatever. Both entrees were pretty bland and not very good. The wrong one in particular was super dry like the turkey from national lampoons Christmas vacation, and I think it was like imitation duck maybe it tastes gross though. I am usually weary of going at the very end when a restaurant closes but I figured this place has good reviews and it was a Saturday night and there was a full hour before closing. So I don't know if the people reviewing have really bad taste or I was unfortunate and ran into an agitated staff who did not feel like working but it was a pretty subpar food experience and ridiculous experience. Not one to make a scene or cause problems I paid my bill and left a normal tip and left. I doubt I will ever go again but maybe during the day I will give it another try in hopes of there being better food. I am a vegan so it's nice finding a vegan spot and I really hoped I would like it but it was disappointing. The staff were incredibly rude and each course was brought out by a different person each one more bitter than the other. Really poor service. For everyone else if you want top notch Asian cuisine vegan/vegetarian goto red bamboo in the village. The food absolutely BLOWS this place away and the prices are actually better (putting aside terrible service based on the food quality and portion it eas very overpriced) with bigger portions.
