Wow! What a great place. My husband and I stopped here while passing through and were super impressed. We had the BLTE sandwich and German Pilsner. Best BLT I have ever had - loved the addition of the egg and the spicy sauce. The Pilsner was also a great light beer - perfect for lunch. World class beer! Seriously everything they brew is delicious. In addition it's a great place to grab a bite to eat or just hang out. They're very family friendly with some arcade games, pinball machines, and mini bowling. I often bring my 3 year old daughter and she plays while I enjoy a beer. read more

Food: 4/5 I ordered the brew house burger and it was delicious! Cooked excellently and the flavors were amazing! The potato chips were pretty bland with no seasoning or salt. My friend didn't really enjoy his sandwich, saying it was plain. Service: 4/5 All the staff I met were super nice and welcoming. The food came out slowly, but was warm. Decor: 3.5/5 Nice large indoor benches to sit on. There are arcade games outlining all the walls of the restaurant including a small bowling alley, which kind of takes away from the clean modern feel both the decorations and food give. So we have been here a couple of times to check it out and see if it would be the same thing both times. And I understood it to be family friendly before we went. This place is like Dave & Busters meets Chuck E Cheese meets a Brewery. Walking in it's a children's playground on the left, a bar/brew pub on the right, with two (2) MINI bowling lanes toward the back. It's more geared toward families with kids. If you are wanting to come relax and have a beer, you will need to go somewhere else, unless the screaming kids relaxes you. I can't speak to having to order from a specific place as we have always sat at the bar and received good service. The Beers: Have sampled all pretty much all of the beers and though maybe not blown away, they are pretty good. There is a variety to choose from. Light to IPA to dark. Staff: A couple of the staff there are great, friendly, truly gems to have with a company. But unfortunately not everyone there is friendly. This place is cool. The fact you can come here and try all different varieties of in house brewed beer, wine from local wineries or ciders from local houses is just so cool. I like the fact they strive to make it a safe and family friendly environment with lots of toys and pay to play arcade games. I wish the arcade games were slightly cheaper because at $1.00 a play, my daughter can only do about 5 tries on her beloved stuffed animal claw machine before mama says sorry chickadee, no more. They offer paint nights (for a charge), and have shown sporting events on a large projector out front. Only had some of the appetizers from here but they have been tasty. Definitely grab more than one to share with your crew. read more

This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY brewery just so everyone knows! It seems that some people are unaware about that and are surprised when they see kids. I haven't tried any food yet, but their beer is fantastic and there is a lot of variety! The owners, Ryan and Jacquelyn, are super sweet and helpful when deciding what beer to try. Our table got 4 flights so we could try every single beer! There is plenty of seating in different forms: picnic style tables, booths, and bar seating. You will see a kids area along the left wall when you walk in and some adult arcade games in the back which is pretty cool! If I had one suggestion, it would be to put up some type of divider between the kids area and bar area. Maybe have the kids area with some seating for the parents and then have another area for people who don't have kiddos. All in all, love this brewery and cannot wait to go back! read more

Absolutely love this local brewery in Atascadero low key very relaxed. We came here with my daughter and her BF. She recently moved to SLO so we come over on the weekends and find new places. The food was great lots of Nathan's hot dog options I got the chili dog which was fantastic. My daughter got the veggie one since she is vegetarian. We all enjoyed every last bite. read more

There were a nice selection of beers categorized by flavor, good value too. 4 Castoro wines in tap and a very large family area with arcade games and indoor picnic tables. We were especially impressed by the sausage offerings and veggie hot dogs. Food for every dietary need. Non-intrusive music played in the background. They have assumed the mantle of leadership among our local brewery community and it shows. Thinking outside the box, offering alternatives to the shoulder shrug and defiance other breweries have resorted to, I feel safe ordering any of the family meals, to go food and packaged beer they offer. We had the Jumbalaya the other night along with several beers and it was all outstanding. Thanks for providing a great alternative for those of us with a conscience about helping to not add to the pandemic. Nice ambience, especially for kids, the beer is good but that's it. Four of us ate there and each had a different item. Two took their food back immediately for a refund. The food is extremely bland, their cheese sauce separated/broke, bacon under cooked, and the Bratwurst was the size of a Vienna sausage, potatoe salad, extra$, was a small ice cream scoop and was bland and under seasoned. Their house sour kraut was something weird I've never experienced before, and I've lived in Germany and know the product. They was a fun menu, they just need a good chef. read more

Not a fan of this place. The beers were okay, But I feel like I'm in a warehouse. I don't like the decor or the atmosphere and I do not like the food. No fries?? Get an air fryer! I know Covid happened and their locals just trying to make it through, I get that, but I feel like they could do better. The kid area with the games is a nice idea, especially for people with kids and nothing to do.. but it's dirty and no one goes over to pick anything up. It almost felt like the Goodwill toy aisle. A very unique place where families could come to enjoy the food and the various arcade games, while those who came for the beer could also enjoy their time. We were a large group of out of town family, visiting over the holidays. We had been told to visit Wild Fields because several of us are fans of craft beers. There was a very friendly vibe from the employees. We chose to visit on their Trivia night and were not disappointed. We sampled a variety of beers and enjoyed them all. I visited Wild Fields recently while they were doing beer-to-go only, but the owner Ryan mentioned they are looking to get food/patio operations up soon. I had to come visit because as others have mentioned, dude is pretty legendary in the brewing community and has earned some serious international accolades. I got to chat with him and he's really committed to the community and his endeavor at Wild Fields, which is awesome. As for the beer, wow...I was on something of a wilderness and beer-pick-up tour through Northern Cal and stopped at Wild Fields on the way back to the LA area, only to find that Fields Trip IPA was the best West Coast IPA I'd had all week. Without mentioning names, I'd had West Coasters from several other breweries known for world-class IPAs but Fields Trip was simply the best all around in my opinion- fresh, dank, deep, aroma & flavor for days...I also got the rustic saison and a pilsner which were very good, and the other standout in my opinion was the coffee stout- rich and bursting with roasted sweetness but well balanced and actually pretty crushable. Looking forward to visiting again some time soon! read more

These beers were outstanding. The Brown Ales were perfect me. The Vienna lager was nice and flavorful and the dry finish made it drink like a lighter beer, very drinkable. The Mexican lager was good and clean and light like you would expect. No fermentation flaws. If you have kids this taproom is perfect, with games, rollerball (bowling), pinball. I went here for a Relay For Life event and was pleasantly surprised. So when you walk inside it has an indoor picnic feel which I felt was really charming. The back wall has toys for the kids and there are games that both kids and adults can play with. Even a mini bowling thing that I'm going to try next time. They have bar food that is actually pretty tasty.. I think the neatest thing I had were these carrots that tasted like hotdogs. They have a large selection of beer that they brew right there in the building and they are very good. The staff are very sweet and the owners are really nice. I will definitely be back. read more

I work at a brewery in San Diego, so I know that scene well. I also know the owners of WF are formerly from down here too, working for some awesome spots. If I were rating purely on the beers, my rating would be much higher. They know what they're doing and it's good beer. I tried every beer and they have a great product going for them. Jenn the beertender was fabulous and knowledgeable on the beers. Keep her around, guys! I didn't try the food this time, so my rating doesn't include that. However, I can't rate on beer alone (that's what Untappd is for). The environment will need A LOT more work. I know they are brand new and I'm taking that into account. That being said, there's ways to have a kid/family-friendly place without it looking like a daycare or preschool. Unfortunately, WF kind of looks exactly that... but with alcohol. I understand the owners have young children and want a place for them too, but not everyone visiting WF will have children in tow. I came on a Saturday evening during soft opening. All the kids toys lying around is a little off-putting. Lots of kids screaming and running around, too. I went to a brewery in Paso shortly after and noticed a few guests there that were also at WF the same time I was. They mentioned the same thing about the space. The arcade games and mini bowling lane is awesome to have! It just looks like it's in the "kids zone" and I don't know how many adults (without kids) will hang out on that side of the space and utilize those games. Also for a place that promotes the mini bowling, there's no signage for it! It's kinda tucked away in the corner behind a wall. So in short: beers are good, needs a lot more work on the environment they want to achieve... and not cater solely to one group. More "adult" space on the bar side and sacrifice some of the open/"kid" space would be a good start. I'm rooting for them! read more

So ive read other reviews and they amuse me greatly. Ryan is among the best brewers in the country. He's legendary in southern california. The beers here are varied and quite remarkable. The negative reviews all focus on the atmosphere and not the beer. I reckon these are the same people who claim to be 'craft beer fans' but who discovered IPA 3 years ago and have never been to an actual craft brewery. Most craft brewers scrap for a space with a roll up door in an industrial park. Or they make mediocre beer but have a nice little property where no one seems to notice the hoards of soccer moms with bags of cheerios and toddlers on a leash. They clearly indicate they're family friendly which allows those who would not otherwise get out, have a night out. Sure it's a little bright. Sure it's a little loud. Sure it's truly epic craft beer. If you're not a fan of the independents trying to provide an experience there's a nice block with 'meh' beer and no kids owned by Duvel about 6 miles up the highway! read more

We went to Wild Fields after excitedly learning that this would be their Grand Opening weekend. We had high hopes for this place, knowing that Atascadero has precious little in the way of nightlife for the family. It seemed like the best of all worlds - beer, food and even games for the little ones. As we arrived, the place was bustling. We grabbed a central table (they have bar seating, booths, small tables and picnic-style tables), and immediately realized we would need to join the ever-growing line at the end of the bar to place all orders. Also, from our vantage point, it was nearly impossible to make out the names on the cleverly designed signs indicating the current beers on tap. I had to go the bar, read the signs, and decide from there. Not a huge issue, but it seems like it would just be better to have clearly written signs. Then my husband waited in the line while we decided what to order. My daughter initially wanted a soft pretzel, only to be told that they were out. Again, not a big deal, instead she chose the chips, pretzel sticks and onion dip. We decided to have the pickled vegetables, toast points and Brie. The husband ordered a coffee stout and I had another Irish Stout. Both were slightly on the bitter side, but oddly - they were served in different size glassware. I believe that because mine was foamy and his was not , we had the same amount, but the optics are bad on this, and quite frankly - nobody else in the area does it this way. Seemed odd. I can't say we were wowed by our beer choices. We've just had far too many others in this highly competitive beer region that far surpassed what we had tonight, both in smoothness and in creaminess. Again though, it wouldn't deter us from returning, but it wasn't knocking our socks off, either. Then there's the food. It came out on metal trays not entirely unlike what they use in cafeterias, which seemed...odd. Out of place, even. Our pretzel sticks mixed in with the pickled vegetables and quickly grew soggy. The toast "point" were actual slices of toast, but only toasted on one side. The Brie was nice, but the ratio of Brie to vegetables to toast was so off kilter that we found ourselves having to eat the Brie by itself. My daughters chips were good, and our favorite part was the onion dip - which clearly came from a mix - and was such a big portion that the few chips she was given didn't even make a dent in the dish. Seemed silly. Our daughter loved the games, but it is crazy to expect patrons to continually go up to the bar and wait in a long line to break change for the Mini rollerball game (which isn't set up properly to score for only 5 frames), and a couple of the games were already out of order. The thing is, Atascadero NEEDS places like this, but they need well-executed plans that attract and keep people coming. It wasn't that any single thing turned us off, it was that too many little things seemed odd. Yes, it was just the grand opening and things will certainly smooth out and change over time, but this places already had its soft opening, with time to smooth out the kinks. I overheard complaints ranging from frustrations over kids being allowed and catered to (as a mom this really frustrated me. This city NEEDS to embrace families or it will most assuredly die), to the way the food and bar service was managed. I hope Wild Fields is able to benefit from some critique and continue improving. read more

This review is a bit behind but who isn't. Went to the WF opening weekend with a few friends and it was abysmal. The beers were not up to what I know the brewer is capable of doing, the service was fine but the "wait in line to pay or order a beer" wIll not fly. I had to wait 15 minutes just to pay a tab, so I haven't been back since. I like that it is family friendly, however while I was there I watched a two year old escape his parents gaze and make his way into the brew house. Lawsuit waiting to happen. They need to figure out how to separate the two areas better, because being there left all of us confused. Will have to go back and re-do my review at some point to see if things have changed since. read more

Amazing selection of beer here! Some are award winners and others should be. We got a burger which was good. There are pinball machines and a mini bowling area. Fun!!! A great stop on a road trip for us but honestly I wish I lived nearby because I like the variety of beer. Made the Trek up to Atascadero to check out wild Fields brewhouse. I've heard a lot about one of the Central Coast's newest breweries and wanted to see what the spot was like. The environment is interesting and I think it's gonna take some time to figure out who their main audience is. It seems to be attracting a lot of young families with kids as there are plenty of activities for kids at all ages to do. From a mini bowling alley to kids play equipment and arcade games. It leads to being a little bit of it interesting feel with one side feeling more like a traditional bar/brewery and one being an arcade studio that serves beer. The charcuterie plate needed a lot of help because the pita chips included chips not bigger than a finger nail but the sausage was good. Beer was tasty. read more

Went here last night with some friends, it was pretty slow for a Saturday night. This might be my fault since I don't drink beer, so paying for a local cider that I can get for way cheaper down the street. My review is really about the food. I was very clear at the register that I had a dairy allergy, and then was pleasantly surprised when the gal pulled out a list of all the ingredients. I ordered a salad. But when it got to me there was cheese all in it. When I took it back to the food pick up, the young man behind the counter didn't know how to respond and then the chef made noises (that I heard) about having to get rid of the salad. It took 15 mins to get a new one with no dressing and then another 5 to get dressing. It was just okay. Probably wont be back for food/drinks, but the atmosphere didn't bother me and my fiance liked the beers. read more
