These beers were outstanding. The Brown Ales were perfect me. The Vienna lager was nice and flavorful and the dry finish made it drink like a lighter beer, very drinkable. The Mexican lager was good and clean and light like you would expect. No fermentation flaws. If you have kids this taproom is perfect, with games, rollerball (bowling), pinball. The only reason we are giving 3 stars is because we didn't realize this was a place set up for kids. 1/2 of the brewery is set up as a kids arcade and it can get very, very noisy. Not our kind of place as we prefer "21 and over" breweries. I did read all of the 5 star reviews and everyone really liked the fact they could bring their children. This is such a gem of a spot that I don't know where to begin! I'll start with the environment- IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN GO TO HERE!! It's revolutionary. Kids think they're at a special place for them... meanwhile you can actually talk to the adults you're with AND finish a meal AND have beer! I didn't know this could exist ... but it does! It's big enough that our kids didn't get bored, but small and open enough that you can see them from wherever you're sitting. Second- the customer service/staff is phenomenal. We threw a large family birthday party there for our 7 year old and they stayed open an hour later than closing time (no one wanted to leave ) ! The kids in our group really partied in the way that 7 year olds do, and I literally watched 2 (younger) staff members clean up after them an hour after closing.... wait for it... with SMILES. It was like nothing I've seen before! Every single person working was overly friendly and accommodating... making the overall experience a total success. The menu is fun and offers something for everyone, the beer is great, it has a great aesthetic that fits the family friendly brewery vibe. I should also mention that, despite the "family friendly" environment, it's extremely clean and feels like a great place for ANY occasion (we just happened to have a lot of kids in our party THIS time) including adult only party nights or date nights. We had such a pleasurable experience here for dinner with our kids (4 and 10 months). Seating right now is outdoor only but Jacque was so kind to bring a basket of toys and a big connect 4 outside for our son to play with. The beer was amazing (Dry Hop Ya Dont Stop highly recommend). This place is great for a hot day. The beer is good, and there's a decent selection, so something for everyone. The adults got to hang and have some beers while the kids played video games. Wild Fields is one of my favorite reasons I live in Atascadero. When they opened, I thought I was in heaven: delicious and varied selection of beer, great food, largest arcade in town, and a surprising amount of toys and games for the preschool-age kids too. When the first lockdown hit (just a few months after they opened), their delivery and curbside pickup meant I became a virtual regular. Amazing beer, a great food selection, and the games are so much fun! There is a beer for everyone, and they even have alternatives for non-beer drinks (cider, wine, alcohol free beers). Some of my husband and I's favorites were the Clearly Departed, R2J2, The 4101, and the Desert Willow. The same variety and deliciousness goes for their food menu - the elote burger and the A-Chopped salad were both full of flavor, the pretzel with cheese sauce was perfect, and the lime pie was to die for. The fact that they have gluten free buns for their hot dogs and hamburgers is awesome, and they even have vegan ranch! Having food sensitivities, I was so grateful that they could make accommodate my needs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they made great suggestions. Last but certainly not least the games are blast - bowling, air hockey, hoop shooting, and foosball are just a handful of all the options. We don't have kids yet, but I can imagine this place being the perfect spot for families and couples alike with the huge amount of space and variety of things to keep you entertained. I usually come here often as it's a nice place for friends and family, I don't always purchase food but I did today and was extremely disappointed. I ordered a carnitas taco salad and ate about half of it before realizing there was a bunch of raw pieces of meat. When I took my salad to the cashier I again explained to them that there was raw meat. She said everything was precooked and that those were just fat pieces. I know the difference between chewing on fat and raw meat and that was definitely not fat pieces and even if it was who would want a salad with a bunch of fat pieces in it. The lady didn't offer a refund or to make a new salad she just said I'll let them know and apologized. I'm now extremely nauseous and feel like my stomach is in knots. Extremely disappointed, please make sure to check your food before eating to ensure everything is cooked properly because this was disgusting, and unprofessional. I don't believe I'll ever be able to eat here again. Customer service was poor, quality of food was trash. read more

Very odd vibe, from the padded bar stools straight out of the 60's to the ding ding ding of arcade games, all in a "strip mall" location. Service was inconsistent, assuming everyone in the front of the house was family/related. Menu was beyond uninspiring, nothing local, and ridiculously over-priced. $10 for a Nathans hot dog with no toppings and some bagged potato chips. Ok, honest opinion. This place is great when it comes to the staff and establishment itself. The staff is friendly, and the place is spacious. It has a lot to offer for entertainment, which is great. The "ONLY" thing I was unsatisfied with was the food. The BrewHouse burger to be exact. I paid (apx) $20 for a Burger and Drink, which is never a prob as long as it's worth it. And when I walked over to pick up my meal, it "looked" like a $20 burger! Lol but it was all bread. The second you grip the burger, the bread smashes down, and you realize there's an itty bitty patty in there....pretty disappointing. The "extra" grilled onions I asked for didnt taste grilled either. Again, not knocking the place at all, because all in all it was great.....just not the BrewHouse burger. As for my other buddies who were with me, their meals looked Full and delicious, and aside one of them complaining about over eating, they were pretty happy with their food. read more

Like a lot of the other reviewers, I'm going to say that the beer was excellent. However, also similar to a lot of the other reviewers, I think the food needs some work. We ordered beers and a sausage sampler. The sampler came out on an aluminum tray as is the trend in bbq joints lately, but the presentation was just kind of odd. There was no liner, so everything was just kind of sitting in the tray. With this dish, you get three sausages, two toppings, two sides, and three dipping sauces. The sausages were cut up into small rounds, and just kind of jumbled in a pile mixed together and sitting in their own grease. They were also a little overcooked and dried out - some of the medallions were fairly charred on one side. For our sides, we got coleslaw and potato salad. The potato salad was warm and good, but the coleslaw was a little too saucy for both our tastes. For toppings, we chose bacon and chili beans. The bacon was hot as hell and served in a metal ramekin. It was... crunchy. The chili beans were lukewarm and served in a little glass dish. They were tasty though. The sauces were good. We got roasted garlic aioli, wild sauce, and BBQ. The wild sauce was very tasty. I'm hopeful that they can work out their kitchen issues and perhaps provide a little more variety on their menu. Then this might become a favorite haunt. For now, I would come back for a beer and maybe a game. read more

Wild Fields Brewery stepped up to serve the community during the COVID19 situation by providing a commissary program to help supply people with basic food items. I ordered a few things over the phone - including a variety pack of IPA's of course - and they brought it out to my car. Easy! They service was great and the beers were very tasty! We walked in and found what looked like a daycare center with loud children running around and bright fluorescent lights. Wild is right but that just describes-most of the clientele. Brewhouse NO! Wish we had read the other reviews before visiting but sometimes you just want to try the new local tap room regardless. It's too bad as we were hoping to add to our list of local eateries. We can't comment on the food or beer cause daycare dining is not our thing. I have nothing against parents and kids going out but don't they have those playland things at McDonald's anymore? First off, the beer is fine. No problems there. But as a food place, a big nope! You have your choice of 5 sausages, with or without bread and sauces, and then a bunch of vegan choices. Carrot dogs, Mac and cheese, pretzels, etc. not a decent protein in sight. We came, checked out the menu, settled for a couple of beers, and left. If you have kids, and want to down a few beers, I gave it 3 stars, if you are hanging out with a few friends looking for a couple of beers and conversation, Zero stars. On top of everything else, the decor is bizarre, a single small flat screen over one corner of the bar. A bunch of fluorescent lights that look like they were snagged from some other closed out building, random tall chairs up against the windows without either a table or ledges. The menu and decor is baffling at best, noisy and unwelcoming at worst. I wanted it to be great, but like a lot of Atascadero, it just, somehow misses the mark. I found the food to be adequate to good (not bad at all, but also not particularly exciting), and the beer was tasty. I'm sad to report that the vibe, decor seems pretty haphazard. There are spots that indicate they were going for some kind of particular look, but whoever is doing decor for them needs some kind of support to better execute the vision. The beer was great for a decent price. The food menu is limited and a bit over priced for what you get. The loaded potato was on the small side with minimal toppings and was served lukewarm. The chicken apple sausage sandwich for $13 was a bit tough, possibly over cooked, and served with 1/2 cup of potato salad. However, the service was friendly and prompt and there's entertainment for kids if you want to bring the little ones. My husband and 7 year old came here for lunch today for the first time and we were all super pleased! Very friendly service. This is a great casual, comfy place that's big enough where you feel like you can linger and eat/play/drink/socialize. Order at the bar and then your assigned "puck" device vibrates to let you know when your food is ready to pick up. The ambiance was better than I was expecting based on other reviews & photos. I feel like this is a great place because there is such a variety to the seating depending on if you want to be closer to the bar or closer to the area with games. We saw plenty of adults playing the games today too, so don't think it's just a kid zone. The little mini bowl area looks fun, so we'll try that next time. My daughter had the $5 kid's hot dog with pretzel sticks, and she (the picky eater) loved it! Said it was as good as the best hot dog she had (at a party, cooked on a BBQ). Hubby had the Brewhouse Bahn Mi, which he loved. The carrot dog isn't some processed thing, it's a super tasty marinated and grilled (until soft like a hot dog!) large, sliced carrot. He said it was very flavorful, and his side of macaroni salad was good too. I ordered too much since I wasn't sure on sizes, so went with the bean chili and the hummus/veggie platter. The bean chili was vegetarian, and a steal for how much I got (would be enough for an adult's entire meal). It is not heavily seasoned, and tastes homemade - with tons of beans, and some tomatoes and onions too. I got the cheese and sour cream on the side, so would have been super tasty with that added too. The hummus platter was very large and came with pita chips too. The veggies were all very crisp and fresh. It would have made a great lunch for a kid that likes veggies. My husband also got the $2 pickled egg (served with a pickled onion and a pepperoccini, over pretzel sticks). It was pretty fun and tasty, but only for those who like strong and spicy flavors (tastes like a mustard-type heat). Again, another great deal! My husband (a beer lover) also tried a 2 tasters of their beer, and liked them all. All in all, we are very excited for this place to open, and in such an incredible location. Walk to the theater, library, Sunken Gardens, middle school, etc.! I happened to see an article that Wild Fields had recently won 4 Gold Medals for the beer. We stopped for lunch and a beer. We were immediately greeted as we walked in. My wife ordered the chili cheese dog and I ordered the Blue Cheese Patty Melt. Both were tasty. I ordered two of their IPAs and really enjoyed both of them. Grabbed a 4 pack to go and tried two of them when we got home. They were both very enjoyable. We drive past Atascadero often and plan to make this a regular stop now that we've found them. read more
