The chili cheese combo ($6.99) looked like a hot seller. There was pastrami topped everything, chicken sandwiches, burgers, fish and specialty fries. Also, way too many hot dog choices. I come here often because I shoot photos at the Burbank Collection for my job. So I come here for lunch from time to time. Their menu offers great deals on chili dogs and burgers. All of our meals were "sealed" by closing the top of the bag with a sticker to keep it closed - maybe not the most elegant but it's nice! The store itself looks dirty just from age but there is plenty of standing room and I've never had to stay inside for more than 7-8 minutes and there is hand sanitizer available on the wall by the door. Yesterday at 7:30 in the am I parked my car in the parking lot next to the dumpsters I have parked here on a daily basis for six months an in general almost a year .. when I came out of my house at 2 the car was gone .. If you grew up in the 70's and 80's, you know about this place. The dogs are good and not expensive. They do have some serious meal deals if you're jonsing for a dog. Parking is a pinch and there's usually a homeless guy or two at the door waiting for change but no biggie. They inside is crying for a remodel but then that would take the charm away. Yes indeed they serve beer here! But too bad for me because I work down the street in the Pinnacle buildings, and we don't drink beer at lunch. However, for cheap food this is the closest walkable place for lunch. Right now they've got the $3 deal going on, 2 chili dogs and a chili cheese fries for $3! Really, the regular price on their chili cheese fries is $2.39, so figure it's a pretty good discount. And I can't seem to walk out of here after eating without having a 79cent kiddie cone of soft serve. The only weird thing about getting an ice cream cone is that the cashier won't just grab it for you immediately after you order it. They actually let the order go through the computer system, and one of the cooks will get your ice cream, so you end up having to wait with everyone else getting their food orders. grrrrrrr! The food itself was fine. Typical junk food on the go, in a shabby looking location where the trash cans seem to be constantly overflowing. TERRIBLE customer service, though. I wanted a small corn dog combo because I thought it would be fast, but was told I could only buy medium or large. What's that about? I sat close to the counter, watching, waiting, talking to the TV audience members that had come there with me from Burbank Studios... then realized 20 minutes had passed and people who ordered after me were done eating. I inquired about my order and the woman behind the counter was super rude! She accused me of leaving the eating area and then not coming when my name was called. 1) She never knew my name. 2) My order NUMBER got skipped. 3) I was near the counter the whole time.
