pretty standard home-cooked style plate lunch. while they dont have any social media or online presence (that i can tell) to find their menu/specials for the day, they can text you the menu in the morning. that way you can order in advance and pick it up when you're ready for lunch, and not have to wait. so super convenient! food is pretty tasty and they give quite a bit. much better pricing than zippys. def on the cheaper side as far as plate lunches go! when we're working at the airport we always go there for lunch. only place we eat now!

Monday thru Friday from 1000 - 1100 AM, the big green Why'z truck is parked at the airport car rental area across the street from the overseas baggage claim. We know that good food takes time and we know how much people LOVE the ono grindz here and the reasonable prices so we call in our orders to help the brudduhs out who strive to please their crowd! Sure the wait can be bothersome for those who are impatient, but if you can make it work around your schedule and afford the guys enough time to perfect your dish, they will not disappoint!! **I've read some of the few star ratings and most was complaining about the wait yet still enjoyed some of the portions, had they not felt rushed I'm sure every portion would've been awesome.** I work at the airport and frequent the truck on weekdays. The guys send us a menu for the day and we submit a group order ahead of time so that when we break for lunch, our order is hot and ready! At times when it gets really busy, we wait a bit more but totally understandable. It's typically just the 2 brudduhs working the truck and they work hard to bring their best. Every different entree I have tried was delicious, their sandwiches are big and tasty, the guys are friendly and since the government shutdown they offer the federal workers credit. Our CBP, TSA, and USDA families at the airport impacted by the shutdown can still enjoy a good meal until the White House pays back what is owed. Big hearts these guys! Mahalo plenty for the hospitality and kanak attacks Why'z!!! We all appreciate you!

I found this truck last night at Kapolei's Eat The Street. Since they had a line and ton of people surrounding the truck, I thought how bad can this be? Trucks with the biggest crowds tend to have the best food. I ordered the sampler, which consisted of half a lobster stuff crab, a dinosaur bone (large pork bone), two pieces of garlic butter shrimp, and 4-5 small pieces of steak...all for the bargain price of 20$ (that's sarcasm btw). The stuffed lobster was actually quite tasty and moist...priced at 16$ (price without all the other stuff)..is not worth it. The shrimp was ok as was the steak. However the dinosaur bone had flavors that were just way too strong. It was a bit dry. I took exactly two bites and had to dump the rest. Their biggest fault? Nope..not the dinosaur bone. It's the wait. I timed them..and it took exactly 15 minutes from the time that I paid to the moment they called my name and gave me my order. I wasn't the only impatient one. Everyone stood with arms crossed and saying "this is ridiculous" while staring at the folks in the truck. Normally 15 minutes isn't a long wait at a restaurant, but at a food truck festival, it's really too long. Folks like to buy a bite, eat and move on to the next truck. Since my family was hungry, they went on to see what else was available. By the time they had come back, they ate and were full. So much for eating together as a family... I'd be a bit more forgiving if they had told me it was going to take 15 minutes. Just sayin...

    Their hamburger steak is onolicious!

Great local food at a very decent price. The food truck is in the airport area next to the car rentals, from 10 to 11am. Aurite!

Takeout dinner from Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Heaven's Soul Food Cuisine (food truck) was two trucks away from Chicano's taco truck, across from the Convention Center. We were right there, so I ordered a Smoked BBQ Rib plate. It came with 2 sides. We chose Baked beans and Green beans with smoked turkey. Service was very friendly and efficient! I believe that they worker said, "I appreciate you!" Wow! That's very nice of him! We took the plate home (it was too windy to sit alongside the busy sidewalk) and discussed the tasty ribs, sweet (molasses?) Baked beans and yummy green beans with smoked turkey. Mmm! I would return and get the catfish plate, Po Boy sandwich, and walking tacos!

Unfortunately, they were out of collard greens, so ended up ordering a fried catfish plate with Mac & cheese and green beans. Man, I don't know if it was because I was hungry, but this was one of the best classic Mac and cheeses I had in a long time, and by far the best green beans I had. The catfish was freshly fried after ordering and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. At $26 per plate it is a little pricey, but it was about a meal and a half and the taste was excellent. I would suggest calling ahead to see what they're out of and to ensure you don't have to wait.

Authentic Mexican seafood n' ingredients so fresh, that right there is a definite yes!" SERVICE: friendly n' fully staffed INTERIOR: limited seating; can get filled up quickly EXTERIOR: same as inside, limited seating that is covered. Looks like it could have previously been a gas station. WAIT TIME: came at the right time, was helped out immediately. Line grew as soon as I ordered. Food came out staggered, but fast. Maybe 10 mins for everything. PARKING: few spaces to the side of restaurant n' a free lot to the right when facing OVERALL COMMENTS: the last time I had them was at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market in 2024 so we were due for a visit. The steak quesadilla is really good, has a nice char to the meat, filling is packed with steak n' cheese, easy enough to share, salsa that comes on the side is spicy; a lil' goes a long way. The mixed taco is yuMmmy n' loaded with 2 good size pieces of fried fish n' 2 large fried shrimp. The textures are crispy from the beer batter n' crunchy from the slaw. The chipotle aioli tops it off perfectly by adding in the creaminess. Da OG tostada is seafood freshness on a tortilla chip. The ceviche is very well made, has all the flavors coming through n' underneath that is the blue crab tobiko spread that adds another level of excellence. The avocado is the cherry on top completing the dish. Happy with everything we ordered!

Have been meaning to check out this spot for a minute but just hadn't been able to until today…read more I stopped by here at 11am on Saturday after a hike. It was "crowded" in that there is a very limited dining area and out door seating area. We managed to snag a table by asking another couple if they were using both of their tables which were put together. Fortunately they weren't. If you're outside, it's also super loud because of the traffic. Probably goes without saying but if you're on a first date or whatever perhaps not the most ideal spot. So we stood in line. Make sure to grab a menu while you're there if you don't have it pulled up on your phone. I ordered fish taco (singular)...i guess they don't do three for whatever like many other places do. That's fine. My date ordered the Tostada de Atun (tuna). And then I ordered a 16oz ceviche to go. I guess I assumed the ceviche would be fish, but i think it's shrimp. Everything was tasty, especially the ceviche. If it was regular fish ceviche, it would have been 20/10. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and it was still a solid 9/10. The fish taco was fine, if a bit under seasoned. And I think my date enjoyed her tostada. Would totally recommend this place to anyone.

They indeed seemed to be very popular as I could see how busy the place was when we picked up ours. It's also a to-go concept only so we enjoyed our pasta at the bench right next to the venue. The pasta was organic and all homemade from peculiar natural ingredients including moringa, taro, sweet potato, bread fruit, avocado, and local saimin. The one serving us was so nice and attentive, which indeed seemed to be needed here given how rich selections they offered. You got the option to pick your own choice of pasta, sauce, and protein or went for their combo. We opted for the latter as we got their Lechon Malunggay Pasta, which was Moringa pasta with roasted pork belly. Portion was HUGEEE and certainly shareable unless your appetite was so big. Meat to pasta ratio was also super general. The pork was cooked to perfection with flawlessly crispy skin yet juicy meat. The pasta came in just the right texture and was already flavorful on its own. You could pick spiciness level for which we took mild and we thought we should've gone for spicy. We also got Ube cheesecake for dessert that was also gigantic LOL. We finished it finally after multiple servings and it was still so good despite kept in fridge overnight. Dense yet not overwhelming and the ube flavor was so strong and I could tell it used real ube. This place was seriously MUST GO!

That's what I do love about this discovery at Makana Mkt at Ka Makana Ali'i where they have it twice a week and this Sunday from 11a-3p I found this cute little card and it was Aloha Poke Bar which is obvious is a mobile cart which is absolutely cute and does exactly that where the menu describes the offerings for the day which was Classic, Tornado and what I got is Volcano their version of the spicy ahi. Bowls come in two sizes and though my thoughts was large though I got the small which is just $13 and all bowls comes with white rice topped with the poke of your choice and it doesn't end there you get unlimited toppings and I believe there was six types to which I got the pickled red onions and crispy onions (I later realized they were both onions lol!) there was also ocean salad, pickled cucumbers, furikake. The gentleman asked if I wanted inamona and spicy sauce...uuuhh yes! Poke is obviously premade and the list of the ingredients are all in as well as my Volcano which I though for me personally wasn't spicy enough was made with mayo, sriracha chili sauce, sesame oil, and green onions and thankfully it didn't have much green onions which I don't like but hey it adds the flavor. Rice cooked just right and the toppings complimented it all to my happy belly and was a pleasant find on this gloomy rainy day as the service was nice and friendly which brought the vibe to another level at this cute little cart. Thank you!
