Food truck adventure in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... If you want dinner or late night eats, go to Mops Central! They have free parking and an outdoor dining area! The menu is interesting! I got one of the sspecials: the Mum Mum Noodles Deluxe; and the Pork Chops with Garlic Kake (garlic Furikake) sauce. Yum! The Mum Mum Noodles Deluxe was topped with easy over eggs, French Fries, and a sweet mayo (?) sauce. I liked the chewy Noodles, but I prefer a more savory sauce - I'm sure I could have asked to change sauce if I knew. Note: Ketchup at home helped a lot! The pork Chops were delicious and tender! Corn was a nice side, along with two scoops of rice. Service was okay. I asked what "Mops" stood for - it's slang for "eating". The cashier made an eating motion... LOL!

We love trying new places, and Yelp always comes to the rescue! While searching for cheap eats in the Waipahu area, we stumbled upon Mops Central, a food truck located in Tropicana Square (right alongside Arby's and Jack in the Box). This little hub has a few food trucks and a shared tent with tables, perfect for enjoying your meal although we opted to take it back home. We easily spotted Mops Central's very decorative truck and joined the clearly popular line. You could tell immediately that they have a huge following, but thankfully, the line moved surprisingly fast, and the wait wasn't bad at all. The menu is quite extensive, which for a first-timer, felt a bit overwhelming, but in the best possible way, because everything sounded delicious! Lucky for us, a sweet, kind Aunty behind us generously offered some recommendations. We also subtly listened to what other customers were ordering to help narrow down our choices. From what we gathered, you pick your main entree and then get to choose up to three different sauces to elevate your dish. There's also an option for a two or three-choice plate. Since it was our first visit, we all tried different things and shared, which was perfect! I went with the ahi katsu, topped with garlic sauce and garlic parmesan, all thanks to the Aunty's suggestion. It was absolutely perfectly cooked and incredibly savory. I savored every single bite! They also have different specials every night, so definitely check out their Instagram page for the latest updates. Next time, I'm absolutely going for the two or three-choice plate to try a wider variety of sauces. Very excited to come back for more!

Ono late night grindz! Cook was friendly and da food was ono! Really love that 94 block sauce! I can eat that over ANYTHING! Fries stayed crunchy til we got home (15m away) and it was probably da best crinkled fries I've had in a long time! Mahalo for the yums!

A truly excellent pork chop should be thick-cut, juicy, with a flavorful crust, and cooked to a perfect medium, ensuring tenderness without dryness; ideally, it's a bone-in cut that provides added richness and texture, and is seasoned generously with herbs and spices to enhance its taste. These chops are all of that and some! If you didn't know, now you know! Hats off and BIG MAHALO to @fatburns @mopcentral The absolute BEST pork chops ever! Check 'em out! #supportlocal #waipahu #94blocc #bestchopsewa

Hubby chose this place and we came here after we did our grocery shopping at Costco in Waipio the other day. I was so excited to try this place because of the 5 stars, but then again there's only several reviews as of now. I really tried to like this place but it wasn't for me. My husband and I both each got a plate. And there was a side of bland corn for each place. I got shrimp fiyah crackah and chicken kusisi. And my husband just got the chicken kusisi. I felt that the protein itself, especially the chicken lacked flavour, and it relied heavily on the sauces. And the shrimp tempura seems like it was just from the packaged ones. We also ordered large tater tots with fiyah crackah, I think or was it the kusisi? I forget already. That one was a generous portion, but that one we didn't finish as well. There was no flavour, it was just straight up heat coming from the red pepper flakes. We came about an hour after they opened, so we didn't wait too long on our food. We ate everything it at home as we had groceries that needed to be refrigerated. But the following day, I was literally in the bathroom the whole entire day. I'm certain that I got sick because of the food I ate from here because I was fine before I had their food. Not for me. 2 stars was for the parking and the convenience.

Went to try it out last night, we got the combo korean chicken w/ Teri meatballs, fried noodles and fried pork chop. Food was a thumbs up! Go check them out when you get that late night craving!

So far every time I came here the food was always great. We usually just eat in the parking lot but ever since they moved down the street from us we just take our food home and eat there. Most of the time we go we usually get the meatballs that's been the best so far and there fries are also good. My favorite is the Tama Moko but I have been trying the different ones they have. Can't wait to go again and try something else new!

We decided to finally give this food truck a try and let me tell you they do not disappoint! Let's just say we finish everything on our plate! The food is delicious! The pork chop was cooked just right, my mil really enjoyed her food and she is a picky eater! If you're around Waipahu around 6 pm to 1 am you must give this place a try!

Wow, this place is legit!! Happened to come here because Leeward Drive Inn was closed (even though it wasnt 12am yet)... and glad they were!! So we decided to "live on the edge" and cruise through the Pupus (Pupuole) and head back to the food truck. Staff is very friendly and let us sample their chicken. We ended up orderibg 3 plates and 2 kinds of fries. The chicken is AMAZING! It has a light, crispy batter... and the sauces are gooooood. Also got the steak (garlic butter style) which was grilled to order, a nice portion and ONO!! Plenty ALOHA from the workers/owner... you can tell they appreciate the business. Will recommend to all my friends and family... already looking forward to the next time!

Passed by this place several times, always rolling down my window to smell the smokey goodness. Finally decided to give their huli huli chicken a try and we did not regret it. The chicken was so delicious. Seasoned and smoked to perfection. It was so tender and juicy. Opted to go for a chicken plate which came with half a chicken, 2 scoops rice, corn and a side of their sauce. It was $18 which I gladly paid for because of how delicious it was and how big the portion was. It was good enough for 2-3 people. The staff was really nice. Shoutout to the braddahs working the smoker. Showed so much aloha with their smile and throwing shakas all around. Mahalo to the Braddah who without hesitation lent us his fan when he saw my daughters. In his words, "it's hot, keep the kids nice and cool". So good. I'll have to come back and their other food!

I didn't get the side of potato salad but wanted to try the pickled ung choy $10. for container. I loved how the chicken is cooked, fire roasted huli chicken. My opinion, Wow- so Ono! I loved the fried pork, super tasty, I loved the dipping the pork with vinegar sauce and the chicken, so tender, juicy and loved it. I love the flavor in every bite eating fried pork, chicken, rice and ate it with the ung choy instead of corn. The best huli chicken here at Waipahu side. I am so glad I saw the reel, would have not known about this Gem! Supporting local and will be back here for sure now that I tasted this goodness!

The service was sufficient (low contact - could be off-putting to some.) The food was cooked on the spot, at least, the fried part was. My thing is, I've had different preparations of both the lechon and sisig before. I have to say that the ones I got from home-cooked versions versus commercial versions are different (at least for me it has.) It seems as if the sisig and lechon were initially boiled to cook it thoroughly, then they fry it before they serve it to you to get that crispy feel from the skin. The thing is, the jello-like/slightly slimy texture of the fat leads one to believe that it was boiled first or at least not fried thoroughly. There's nothing wrong with boiling as long as the skin and fat come through as crispy. The skin was crispy, but the fat wasn't. Perhaps, they just need to fry it a little more. Other than that, if it was crispy throughout, I would've given it 5 stars. I'm looking forward to trying the other things on the menu like the beef pares.

They're located on the corner and once you see a tent & smell bbq, you're at the right spot. This restaurant gave karinderia vibe to it! Karinderia is basically like those food stalls they have in the Philippines, where they have a bunch of dishes and you sit out to enjoy the food. Home cooked & affordable eats. They have everything from bbq sticks, adobo, lechon, kilawan, lumpia and more. I got the bbq stick & chicken inasal plate. The bbq stick was packed with so much flavor! The chicken inasal was more on the huli huli side & was served with Filipino dipping sauce. They also offer free sabaw with your meal. Ordering was a little complicating, they have a menu outside with food and also more food inside. The bbq items were cooked by order and the inside food had more of the Filipino dishes like (adobo). But next to the cashier, you could also find other fried dishes as well. So a little complicated. You also have the option to sit outside under the tent or inside the restaurant with AC. For this type of place, if you're dining in, you order & eat first then pay. Like any karindera. Overall, this place was VERY good & SUPER AFFORDABLE.
