Dynamite chicken katsu w/ rice and mac
    Elsa L.

Ordered the Dynamite Chicken Katsu w/ rice and mac- katsu is crispy and drizzled w/ I believe mayo and sriracha (not too spicy); comes w/ 2 scoops of rice, mac salad is sweet and not too mayo-y (my made-up word). They ran out of the noodles, but my coworker was able to get the last order- it tastes like fried saimin; similar to Zippy's fried noodles but not as much as toppings. I also ordered the veggie pork lumpias and they're good with the vinegar dip- almost close to what my sis makes. They're crispy and filling is plentiful.

Okay..I pass this wagon all the time and this is the first time I stopped. I had the Dynamite Chicken Katsu with Aeole Sauce. It was so ONO! I couldn't stop eating it. Also ordered a side order of fries.... which are my favorite kind. It was better than L & L Crinkle Fries. And I love L & L Fries. The food came fast and people were stopping by non-stop to order food. My friend had the wraps and he said it was ONO as well! GO CHECK EM OUT!!!

I was told the "young girl" seems to now be running the lunch wagon. Loved my plate lunch because the Pinakbet had a lot of pumpkin & eggplant. Also included some okra, long beans bittermelon. I actually like bittermelon so could have used more and appreciated that it did not have a lot of lechon. The rice was a bit mushy though. The Filipino items are only available on certain days. Rotating menu, but a lot of standard daily menu options.

Looked it up in yelp and found this food truck. Thank you Iris T. for your review and picture we ordered the Filipino mix plate. Had chicken adobo, sari sari, and dingaguan. Well they had 3 people working in the food truck so food came out fast. Reasonable prices too. Came home and the plate was full overly spilled into the other compartments but its OK. The chicken adobo was missing the vinegar shoyu taste. The sari sari was good taste and the dingaguan was a little watery my husband said. But it was ok. The pork was tender. SORRY NO PICS FORGOT TO TAKE. But it was full and over spillage into the other sections.

When I found this food truck, I immediately wanted to stop by and see what the hype was about. I visited about 30 minutes before closing. The only thing they had run out of was the chop steak and one other protein, which wasn't too big of a deal for me. My eye was on the beef stew. Growing up in a Filipino household, I knew this dish as "caldareta." My dad would make this for me all the time. I asked for a bowl to go so I could enjoy it for dinner later. The first bite instantly sent me back to my family's home kitchen, where I would come home from school and find a pot of beef stew waiting for me. What I love about Hawaii is that it has a blend of cultures that I truly appreciate as a foodie, and experiences like this feel like a nostalgia tour. Thank you for this delicious meal. It made me miss my mom and dad a little more than I usually do. Food not only nourishes us, but also brings us back to a moment in time. I thank Laverne's for that.

This is the food truck in the Home Depot parking lot in Kapolei. They have several tables to eat at. We ordered a pastele stew and squid luau combo. The spicy garlic furikake chicken is crispy, saucy, n' brings the heat. Give a good amount of pieces. The braised shortribs are so juicy, tender, n' flavorful...a must order. To add even more flavor, the chili peppah watah makes everything next level with a slight kick n' tang. The egg Mac salad is a nice balance to the whole meal. The food ordered shows up in plastic containers and every table has a huge bottle of Chili Watah... staff is friendly and quick. In terms of food I went for the Garlic Furikake Chicken with a side of Mac salad. The portions are enormous here, enough to cover a couple meals! Taste was great, especially when you add some of the Watah to it. I ate as much as I could, but probably ate only three quarters of the dish. Later in the evening I was still full, skipping dinner. It's a good spot to go in Kapolei for some Filipino-Hawaiian Grindz!
