    Ahi Katsu

First time trying out this popular food truck. I heard the ahi katsu was good so I had to try it. It did not disappoint. The owner was very friendly and ran a one man show. Very impressive.

Portions actually equal the amount you pay. So, though a bit pricey, it is plenty of food. Owner is cool. Friendly. I go to this truck during lunch time right in front of the Mililani Self Storage over in Tech Park. Nice shaded area to wait.

I drive here out of my way for their kalbi fries, it's that good. But today I decided to go with some of their specials. Blacked ahi salad was good, also got their Korean fried chicken and added on their kalbi. Service is always great but their lines are long for a good reason so just gota be patient. I'll skip the Korean fried chicken and try something else next time.

    Crab-stuffed opah. Unreal ono.

Braaaaah. Just had the best plate lunch in a long, long time. I keep forgetting about the food trucks in the Mililani Tech Park area, I'm so glad I remembered today. For some reason I gravitated towards Flyin' Ahi. Despite a wide variety to choose from, I got the crab-stuffed opah plate for $18. Photo does not do it justice. It was absolutely ONO. It sat on a bed of rice with their truffle cream sauce drizzled over it... heaven. Pure heaven. The supporting cast of mac salad and apple/tomato/lettuce salad was also on point. Worth the price, this is a sit-down restaurant quality meal. And I was met with a very friendly greeting, which somehow makes the food taste better. It's all street parking, and lots of it, but don't be the dummy that parks in the median in the middle of the road just to be close. So unsafe and idiotic. Lots of other food trucks to choose from, go and support local. Make the effort.

Probably my favorite food truck in Mililani. And I hear they're also in Kaneohe now. Located in Mililani Tech Park, right in front of Spectrum; there are also 3 to 4 other really good food trucks right next to each other that are worth eating at as well. On this momentous occasion, I was running errands in Mililani and saw them post their daily specials on their IG. I saw Blackened Nairagi Salad as one of their specials and decided it was time for a lunch break. Got there right when they opened so I think I was the first order before the lunch time rush. Everyone working in the area comes to the food trucks here for lunch and sometimes there's a little line but orders are taken quickly and promptly and orders come out pretty fast. Nairagi (Hawaiian Striped Marlin) salad was delicious!! I paired it with their Tsunami fries and their fries are so good too! I didn't get their Kalbi fries this time but I would recommend getting their Kalbi fries if you've never tried them...you won't be disappointed. Everything is good here. Their menu is nicely curated, fish-centric and every item is quality. Might stop by tomorrow again! Lol

Amazing, tender, delicious sweet and spicy Kalbi fries 10/10! There's not a thing I would change. Delicious and fairly priced!

This blue food truck at Mililani Tech Park is worth a stop. We tried the ahi katsu and the kalbi fries. The ahi katsu was pretty good, crispy and fresh, though a little on the dry side and it could've used more sauce. The kalbi fries on the other hand were the standout. The sauce they drizzle on top ties everything together perfectly. Easily my favorite, and I'd definitely come back just for those fries. There isn't really anywhere to sit since it's just a line of food trucks on the street, but we brought beach chairs and set up under a tree which worked out perfectly. Overall, a solid spot to check out if you're in the area.

Baked stuffed Ono w/ truffle cream sauce, kalbi fries & spicy ahi, blackened ahi salad

I am a firm believer that some of the best food you can get in Hawaii comes from small, local food trucks like Flyin' Ahi. I finally got the chance to try them after wanting to go for years. Usually I wouldn't be able to because of work but I took advantage of the Veteran's Day holiday to make my way over. Located in Mililani Tech Park next to other food trucks. The baked crab stuffed Ono with truffle sauce caught my eye. But I also wanted to try their signature kalbi fries, plus spicy ahi poke... Luckily the kind owner was able to combine all that into one fat plate. Everything was amazing! The truffle cream sauce is to die for. The fries were fried up perfectly crispy with a generous portion of kalbi on top. And the spicy ahi was great too, I liked how it wasn't the usual mayo-based sauce. Service was super quick and friendly. The owner was generous enough to add some spicy ahi into the blackened ahi salad we got too. I'll definitely come back to this spot when I have another day off and want to treat myself.

Kahlbi Fries! OMG! The fries are super crispy like how I like it, the sauce in the Colby just adds another dimension! This is a must have!
    Olivia N.

Awesome! I'm bummed because I thought they were closed and I wanted to try their blackened Ahi salad. I already bought a Poké bowl so I settled for their khalbi fries. It did not disappoint.!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer the phone and taking my order even though you were working alone and about to close! I am so happy that I was able to satisfy my kalbi fries craving today thanks to the wonderful owner Leroy. He was so gracious to serve me after closing even though he just finished working his lunch rush alone. Amazing Aloha spirit. The kalbi fries are my fav but everything is good and totally worth the price! The owner is an awesome guy. The food is amazing. Support this small local business.

Teri burger and kalbi fries!! If you haven't tried them yet what are you waiting for?! Their food is so good and the amount of food you get for the price is so worth it! They're super nice and food service is quick! I highly recommend checking them out.

Ahi katsu (add fresh ahi poke)

Short and sweet review (there's football, American and World Cup, and it ain't gonna watch itself). Local bruddahs cooking up auction fresh fish in a little popup community of food trucks at the Mililani Tech Park. It's better than most brick and mortars charging much more. The simply grilled ahi, cooked medium, seasoned with nothing except the sauce you order (soy butter or ginger scallion). Opt for the soy butter. The ginger scallion has hints of bitterness from being so concentrated. The ahi katsu, oh so good. Deep fried ahi, cooked mid well. The "sticks" are flash dunked in a Korean chicken sauce (soy sauce, sugar, cayenne pepper) that both maintains its crunchiness while giving it the perfect seasoning kick. Props for their fresh ahi limu poke (shoyu and spicy also available) that can be added to any plate. All plates come with rice, mac salad (gotta have the double carbs in Hawaii), gently dressed greens and apples, and teagu. Inexpensive (currently $14 - $16/plate subject to market movement) with non fresh fish proteins being less. 100 percent local service, pidgin sta da talk. ESL. Everything cooked to order so expect a 15 minute wait. Cards through square. Seriously good eats.

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.

Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!
