6 kinds of sauce on the table! But the meat was so delicious that it almost isn't needed. I had the big plate full of food with brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Three sides...Cole slaw, baked beans and potato salad. All were yummy. I did squirt a bit of sauce #5 in the beans. The slab of ribs was huge and the rub on them was so good that no sauce was used. We got our food quickly and were back on the road. There wasn't much conversation, just nose down eating. I didn't realize Whole Hog is a chain, they aren't in my hometown yet. read more

Such a great place. Food was wonderful and staff was friendly. Really enjoyed our lunch.

I made the choice to keep driving another 2 hours after already having driven 9 just so that I could end my long work day with a beer and a pulled pork sandwich at the whole hog cafe. Great service. Fantastic food. All 6 sauces that are on the table are delicious. Absolutely worth stopping in and filling your belly. read more

Traveling thru, so maybe I'm not familiar with a 5 star BBQ place, but I was not excited about their food quality. I had loaded fries with chicken & cheese. The fries were frozen from a bag & the cheese sauce seemed to be Cheese Whiz from a can. Spouse got brisket meal with same fries. His coleslaw did not appear to be homemade & the roll certainly wasn't baked fresh. His brisket was tender with good flavor & my chicken was moist & well seasoned. The meats were good. The rest was ok. read more

Worth the visit. A variety of BBQ sauces. Stopped on a cross country road trip for lunch.

Sausage was a little dry, so was the brisket. Nice selection of sauces. Sides were not bad..

We came on a Sunday afternoon. Missed the lunch crowd! Unfortunately the lunch crowd ate them out of chicken and sausage :-( , so I got pulled pork and brisket instead. Pork was great but the brisket was sliced way to thin and was a little tough. Decent portion sizes and the plates came with 2 sides and a roll. Got the green beans as one of my sides., WAY to peppery for my taste and chips. My husband got the brisket plate, baked beans, which he loved and the potato salad which had a lot of mayo in it. They have a selection of sauces on the table, for you to choose. Try #1 and #5 mixed together. read more

Wow! When we got there they were out of all but pork loin and pulled chicken. I can see why! I wish I could do a pork loin half as good as theirs! Every thing was wonderful. From the chicken and pork loin to the potato salad and beans. The price is more than reasonable. One word to describe our dinner- Perfection! read more

I went in on a Friday night and ordered the burnt ends. It was so good! Highly recommended! Staff was great and the restaurant was clean. They have 6 BBQ sauces on each table to try as well, I liked #4 and #6. read more

The catfish was absolutely delicious, fresh and made to order. The restaurant concept is not average. Staff needs more training on welcoming. Can't assume everyone walking in knows the process of the restaurant especially if your restaurant process isn't the norm. My friend and I felt lost and basically watched the regulars to see how the flow went. BUT great food and the loaded potato is a must! read more

I love the food. I always have used their drive-through. The last five times I've been through to order it has took forever. The last time I went I waited thirty minutes to order and when I got to the window. I waited another ten minutes. I finally drove off. Unless you have a hour to go through their drive through, I would go inside to eat. read more

How this got 4 stars is beyond me. We stopped for lunch, hoping for some decent if not good BBQ. Brisket was tough and had no seasoning. The pulled chicken was chunks of chicken breast with no seasoning and just a tiny tiny bit of smoke flavor. I will give some credit because it wasn't dry. The smoked green beans were cooked to mush with some kind of meat in them and again, no flavor. Cheesy corn was just ok. Fried okra was typical deep fried, and credit for not being slimy. Soda machine yielded tasteless sodas. We did get our order quickly, served to our table by a nice enough kid in pj pants. I sincerely hope we just caught them on a really bad day and this isn't representative of Missouri BBQ. read more

What's better than being in BBQ territory, then getting your barbecue on? I find myself at a hotel down the street and when I asked the bellhop where I should go to get some BBQ, there was only one answer - the whole hog. I got To Go a platter consisting of burnt ends, pulled chicken, coleslaw, and oven baked potatoes. The burnt ends we're good. The pulled chicken was fantastic. The coleslawwas good. The oven baked potatoes not so good (Cold?). So kind of an overall mixed review from me on this joint. Traditionally, it would have earned three stars. So why four stars you might ask? The service was fantastic! So here's the real test: Was I satisfied? Yes Will I go again? No (so many bbq places, so little time!) Will I advocate? Yes if you want great service! read more

Maybe bring from Memphis makes me a little biased, but this is mediocre barbecue at best. The "dry" ribs were actually dry - no seasoning or anything...just dry. The beef brisket was moist but flavorless. The sides were bland. Not worth the time or money. read more

Whole Hog on Glenstone is a great place to get a BBQ fix. The meats are cooked to perfection while keeping them juicy. The sides offered are just what you want with a BBQ meal. I would definitely recommend the potato salad and beans to go with your plate. You'll get a fairly moderate serving for the price. Which is exactly what you need. You'll find your table dressed with quite a few sauce selections ranging from sweet and tangy to thick and spicy. The location is clean. The staff is friendly, professional and courteous. Not much more you could ask for if you're looking for BBQ in Springfield. Highly recommended! read more

Great service, great food! We stopped in while road-tripping and enjoyed a quick and delicious meal without wandering more than two minutes from the highway. The place was dead, but it was mid afternoon on Easter Sunday..I imagine that this place bustles most days of the week. Great selection of sauces at every table, and self-serve water...can't really go wrong here. Patio and TVs outside look inviting for a warm afternoon! read more

Fantastic BBQ, had the Pork pulled sandwich w/ side of sausage w/ bit of cheddar & jalapeno in it. The sides of which there many make for a wonderful journey into your inner taste buds myself gravitating to the potato salad and baked beans. It's quiet inside, chilled (as in relaxed) and the staff very polite and friendly. I highly recommend coming in, I don't feel you will be sorry. To begin, I believe this establishment has been crippled by all of the road construction in the area, so it may be an unfair time to review. We arrived around 6, but the place was dead. All of the people working there were friendly and accommodating, and the prices are very reasonable. The food took way too long to be served considering that there were no lines of patrons. The kitchen produced the food in a sporadic, one at a time method, which made eating in a small group somewhat awkward. A survey of my group indicated quite a variation in quality; ribs were rated excellent. Brisket was OK but dry and overcooked like roast beef. Pulled pork was good but dry. Sausage had good flavor but looked old and re-heated. None of the meat dishes or sides arrived hot- only barely warm, which is troubling. Potato salad and coleslaw were both excellent, and served very cold. Beans were good. Fried potatoes were horrible- nobody touched them. My conclusion is that Whole Hog could go either way. All of the pieces are in place to have a great restaurant, yet the experience still falls short on a number of levels. My instincts tell me that there is a lack of management presence which is contributing to these inconsistencies. If you catch them on a good day, you will get some great Barbecue. read more

I am from Texas and this is some of the best BBQ I've ever had. I visit once a year and look forward to eating here. The ribs and brisket are amazing. The potato salad is delectable. Overall 5 stars for sure! read more

Half slab of ribs was dry and too salty. The brisket was tender and sliced well, but not seasoned. The potato wedges were wonderfully seasoned and crispy. The salad was generous, and the dressing was good. read more

I went back again, before I leave Springfield. I had the burnt ends instead of the brisket and the potato salad instead of the beans. Both were outstanding choices. I like the fact that they only have the burnt ends at certain times. That means it isn't sitting around because they made so much for the day. I called ahead and I was told that they were bringing out new burnt ends in an hour. Great place to eat!!! read more

This was my favorite bbq place at one point. I was so excited to take my family here after church because we hadn't been in a while. It was so disappointing. The employees were unfriendly and not patient. Even though there was no line, the grumpy cashier seemed irritated that we weren't ready, and we were waiting for my daughter, who was using the restroom. We ordered our food (almost $70). we had a couple of pulled pork sandwiches, a two item combo, and my daughter ordered bbq fries. The food came out fairly fast. They gave my daughter chips instead of fries, but we let it go. All of the sides were hot and tasted good. They still have the best cheesey corn here. The meat was cold and flavorless. It was only made better with tons of bbq sauce. We have been here many times in the past. It was always good but yesterday was unacceptable. I am only writing a bad review because I am hoping they will fix the issues. read more

I used to like this place, but their service has gone downhill in recent years. Last night I decided I wanted some BBQ when to their drive thru, waited 10 minutes, gave my order and paid. I then waited for 20 minutes with no sign from the restaurant staff. I had to call them to get someone to come back, Chris came back, and told me that the person who took my order never gave my order to the kitchen. I asked for a refund as at this point I didn't want to wait any longer. Chris didn't say anything just zeroed out my order, thrust a small strip of paper in my hand and slammed the window. At this point in time I have not received any food, or had my money returned. Food is ok, service is crap. read more

Restaurant seemed fairly clean as we entered. It was just opening for the day. The food was very expensive for what we got. I had a small amount of beef brisket a few potatoes and a brownie and a soda and it was almost $17. My friends had the pulled chicken and it was an edible for both of them. They thought that it was possibly not cooked all the way. It was very rubbery. I was very disappointed as I had always wanted to try this place. The potatoes and brownie were OK but obviously you go here for the meet. It was poor to say the least. read more

A Saturday at 4 pm. In town for a business trip and am trying to eat low carb but didn't want to cook in my hotel. $11.99 for a pound of pulled pork is a steal. I ordered a pick up with a half hour time frame. When I didn't know which sauces to get the woman on the phone said I could try them when I got there . My order was ready at the exact pickup time and wrapped in cling wrap so nothing would leak/spill in the car. Got sauces #3 and #6, delicious. Pulled pork was tender and moist with large chunks of pork. Highly recommend this BBQ joint. read more

After 12 hours on the road the last thing I wanted to do is go out somewhere to eat, so my husband being the amazing man he is logged onto one of the food delivery apps and ordered me food to be delivered to my hotel. When it got to my room I was so excited, and dig in! The brisket I got was AMAZING, and the baked beans were some of the best I've ever had! I realized that the side salad I had ordered wasn't in the bag! (The delivery guy neglected to check the order before leaving the restaurant) I called wild hog, unsure what the procedure is for this situation. The woman who answered, while also unsure, said she would take care of it. She hand delivered my salad to my hotel! Food: 10/10 Customer Service: 20/10 If you're in town definitely come in here! I'm definitely stopping in to actually sit and eat on my next trip through town! read more

We walked here from the conventions center one night with a group of people for dinner. The menu is great and the pricing is even better. The lunch special is served all day and is a great deal. Yehaw partners, let me done tell you about this place. If your name is patty or you like to be a fatty, Whole Hog Cafe is the place for you! You done got them southern Bell waitresses, that showed some great southern hospitality from the time we were seated. Our food was fan-freaking-tastic, like I'm still holler and hooting about it. 6 different BQQ sauces at each table! Whether you're mild or wild, darling, this is place for you. Our food came out of the kitchen faster than green grass through goose. My opinion is get it while the getting is good! read more
