Airport food is hard to evaluate in that none of it is that good. White Sox Sports has the inevitable task of following Harry Carays perhaps one of the best restaurants found in an airport. Plastic cutlery, plastic beer cups and truly uninspired food. It really wasn't very good. read more

Well it was a hot meal. That about says it all. Got the pub burger, which you can order medium, medium-well, or well done. I ordered the medium-well, since I didn't want pink ground beef. It was really dry, and not a whole lot of beef flavor. These are obviously frozen patties, from the shape and consistency, which means they are going to start out fairly dry to begin with - so perhaps medium would at least have a little juice left. The bacon and tomato were fairly decent, though. It also didn't help that the "pub sauce" (essentially a thousand island type sauce) was a tiny dollop that was absorbed by the bun. I added a bunch of mustard, but it didn't really help much with the dryness. Did add some nice flavor, though. The fries too were fairly flavorless. Surprisingly, there wasn't much grease on them. Which actually would have helped. There wasn't much salt on them, and when I tried to add more, it didn't have anything to stick too. At least there were a lot. Oh well, not like I expected gourmet at an airport. But I expected better than this. I will say that the workers were all pretty nice, and the place was well decorated. read more

The service was bad. The waitress was either rushing past us or ignoring us. Wait, is that the same thing?? The Cubano was not bad but the fries were much less than optimal. Also, the grilled chicken sandwich was dry. This place benefits from a great location in the airport, but you should do yourself a favor and resist the temptation to stop at the first spot you see. This place is great!! Best place I've veer been to in an AIRPORT!! I had the 2nd best chicken sandwich (I added bacon) I've ever had, and best one I've had was in Beverly Hills. Service was punctual, friendly, and everything you'd expect (a little pricey, but duh, it's an airport) This place is a MUST GO if you have a layover, or just need something to go!! At the airport (Midway). You would think they understand travelers are on a time budget! Looked inside and saw a number of open tables - but was told it will be a 10-15 minute wait - because they had to 'wait' for the servers to catch up! Never heard of such a thing. Horrible. Bad service and worse food. Spend your dollars elsewhere. I'm sure it's only busy because it's one of the few sit down restaurants in The Concourse. We ordered the fried pickles, and chicken lettuce wraps. Our Waters were empty by the time our food came, never refilled. We saw and interacted with our waitress only one time which is when she approached us after we had been seated for about 10 minutes and her only words were "Do you know what you want?" About 20 minutes later on a food came, there were a total of maybe a dozen fried pickle rounds, and a nasty tub of mayonnaise to dip them in. The chicken lettuce wraps were supposed to be hot, they were room temperature. We took our time and ate the dog crap food. Our Waters were never refilled we left cash on the table and walked out. Pros: It is right after the TSA gates. Cons: It can be super crowded. Many of the employees have tombstones in their eyes. On this occasion our waitress was efficient and food was decent. We had sliders and blue cheese dip chip nachos. My Blue Moon was $8. I overheard the table next to us as he was asking about his Moscow Mule which was $18. So I guess beware of the up-sell. Overall ok, but you should be aware that there are more options in the adjacent food court and down the gate concourses. read more

This place is awful. Waited for about 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us, and then they have ridiculous pricing for some of their drinks! Another place that just takes advantage of location to hike up prices. Also, the bar area was sticky and dirty and the TVs look older than me. They're playing two TVs with lines going across the screen as well. If you're ever in this airport, it's better to just go to the Dunkin Donuts next to it and grab a coffee -- skip the beer! read more

Do I ever miss Harry Carrys that used to be here. They had a much better selection of beer and food. Service has gone downhill...and did I mention their beer selection suck! So the food was OK...they have an Old Fashioned list as one of their featured drinks...but ran out of bitters.....BEFORE NOON! What???? And the glass was half full...a splash of Bourbon and splash of Vermouth with an orange and cherry. Wow. read more

We waited 15 minutes to be sat. Happily. We had a table of 4. They sit us in the back with 2 on each side. 2 of us in the isle. We moved one person to the end, out of the isle and the smallest person on the isle side. The table is sticky and visibly dirty. The waitress, Nina, gets there and with no greeting wants to know what we want. We ask if the table can be wiped down. She wipes down one side and then says is that good? We said the other side was still dirty too. So she looks at me and says excuse me. I was already pushed under the table and this is where they sat me. This replaced Harry's Carey's in location only. Food was average, at best, but nothing to get excited about. We ordered drinks, out of four orders, one the restaraunt did not have despite it being on the menu. The second order was unsweet tea and the tea was so strong as to make the tea nearly impossible to drink. Had to rate and up the star quotient at this establishment! Was here at Midway on a layover a few days ago and had one of the worst service experiences at Reilly's Daughter restaurant. Slow, rude.. didn't want to review directly to negatively effect their business, but I was so grateful for have top-notch service here at the bar today!! Two part review: Service and food. The service was absolutely 5 star! The place was packed and I asked my server Ralph if he could help me get my food and be out of there within 25 minutes so I could catch my flight. Ralph made sure they cranked out my order and I was walking out with a few minutes to spare. Now the food. I've had a soft spot in my heart for Monte Cristo sandwiches ever since the Bennigan's days. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a really good one. The one here was lightly grilled, and it was actually a bit on the soggy side. I know no one can match Bennigan's deep fried version, but this version falls way short of even a run-of-the-mill Monte Cristo. The fries were ok; the draft Stella was excellent and cold. Overall, the quality of my 1-star meal drags down this score. It's sucks that we have such meh airport food in Chicago, especially when you compare it to some of the great options around the country (and world). read more

Stopped in for coffee and omelette before my flight. After hostess seated me, I waited 10 minutes for a waitress to notice I was sitting at the table. Another 15 minutes after I placed my order and no coffee. Apparently her priority was to put away a stack of silverware before serving coffee. I only stopped here for a drink before my flight, so I don't have too much to review. What I can say, is that you can order a drink to go while in the airport which is fantastic! It's nice to be able to have a seat by your gate with a drink and not have to rush from the bar. The bar itself was packed, with no open seats (another positive to the to-go option), but the bartender was super helpful and served us quickly so we could be on our way. I can't speak for the food but the restaurant definitely was packed! I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again while on a layover for my flight. read more

The food was good for airport food overall except the hash browns. They take tatter-tots and smash them to make hash browns. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. I would come back there next time I am in the airport. read more

She never came to check on us, she cleared tables next to us without ever looking toward us to see if we needed anything, which we did. The service and host staff were reasonable. The food quality was poor. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich and the vegetable pasta. The vegetable pasta was the only vegetarian option on the menu. Quite possibly the worst 'bar' at an airport. The food was absolutely horrendous. They have a few small TVs. It looks like they were about 10 years old. Decor was horrible, beer was on tap was about only thing they had going. Why bother to have something under a major league team without putting any effort into running a bar? Great chili .. beers selection is awesome.. Berger was amazing... it took 35 min to get a table and another 15 to get out drinks .. if you have lots if time it's worth the wait. The kale salad was pretty good.. generous portion and very large shrimp were hiding under the greens. Overall recommend it but really slow service. read more
