The best pub in town for White Sox fans and approximately two blocks from the stadium. Their burgers are fantastic and in the Top 5 of the city's best burgers! It does not matter which burger you order and I suggest trying them all. The kitchen will cook the beef patty exactly like you ask which is a plus in my book. I always request mine to be medium rare. My personal favorite burgers are The Southside Irish, The Latino, and The Chicago but not necessarily in that numeric order. Solid Sox bar! The bartenders are friendly and welcoming. This is a great place to go before or after a game.

Sat outside for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come to the table. Only one table outside with people so the waitress saw me. People inside but not crazy packed. We stopped in to Cork and Kerry after a White Sox game and had a pretty decent time. To be honest, we were just looking to kill some time and have a few beers - this place delivered. It is a smaller place, with a decent-sized bar, that has a good selection of drinks (liquor and beer). Additionally, it looked like they had a decent menu as well (though we did not eat). They play some average music and have a couple TVs. Really, nothing about the place stands out to the positive or negative. Well, except for the bathroom - they take great care of it and that is a welcomed relief from a normal bar bathroom! We only stayed for a few drinks before moving on but we still had a good time. Obviously & perfectly located directly North of US Cellular Field, Cork and Kerry is ideal for the baseball season - but when the Sox are not playing, it is a lovely neighborhood spot. Not too crowded, great drink selection, awesome bartenders & waitstaff. I might be a little biased, but Cork and Kerry at the Park is stationed in my near-to-my-heart Bridgeport; close enough to walk to & from my apartment. I enjoy the undoubtedly South-Side Chicago Bridgeport feel of the bar. Cool, kind staff all-around. Nice people from the neighborhood always in & out. When Cork at the Park first opened I would sing their name from the top of the smoke stacks. It happens to be walking distance from my house and quickly became my favorite bar in the neighborhood. Since then our relationship has considerably soured. Don't get me wrong, the space is fantastic. I love the openness that is hard to find in the neighborhood, the large windows, the ample seating that could easily accommodate a large group and the little front patio in the summer. I also can't say enough about the burger here. It's definitely one of the best burgers I ever had EVER! They are super juicy and flavorful and always cooked to the correct temperature. (I usually have an issue getting my medium rare burgers to come out any less than medium well anywhere else.) I like the latino which has pepper jack, chorizo and avocado piled on and finished with a pretzel bun. Seriously, you MUST try this burger. Those two things aside, I have lot of problems with Cork. The main issue I have is that they NEVER have ANY specials. I realize this is a bar near a baseball stadium but their competitor a block away manages to offer daily specials on drinks AND food. The beer here is ridiculously overpriced as it is and to not ever cut anyone a break is outrageous. Those of us that live in the neighborhood and give Cork and Kerry our money when there's not ridiculous crowds from the games take this very personally. We're the ones that keep this place running the other 284 days of the year. Show a little appreciation. The service is hit or miss. A couple of the guys there do a great job but a lot of the staff is misinformed, lazy and inattentive. They also run out of liquor a lot. Who's doing the inventory over there? On several occasions I've ordered a round of shots to find out half way through them pouring it that they're out of a key ingredient. Not everyone solely drinks Patron and Jameson guys. Some of us like a variety. And the Yelp offer? You can forget about it. I was told once by a bartender that Yelp is a scam and not to trust them. Um ... wha????? I still go to Cork quite a bit because of the convenience, the burger and the fact that I can pack a ton of my friends in there together comfortably. Finally. A bar within walking distance of US Cellular Field that you can go to before or after the game to grab a beer and a burger. Cork and Kerry at the Park, took over the old Jimbo's and brings with it a warm welcoming interior. The windows open to the street, overlooking a green neighborhood park. There are tables which are removed on game nights to better allow for traffic flow. The sign above the door- mimics the look of the Six scoreboard (by the way- watch that first step in or out of i the bar . . .it's a "doozy") Unfortunately, they have only been open for 10 days and are still working through the "kinks". During our visit- the place was packed after the game and service was a bit of a challenge. A server took our order but when she showed back up (which was about 15 minutes from when the order was placed) she only had one drink, saying she had to go around the back to get the vodka. Made no sense to me but eventually she showed back up with the drink. Drinks are cheap and true to game night craziness are served in plastic cups and bottles with the lids still on them. It was overcrowded in the bar and hot so our visit was brief. Next time I hope to grab some food! Street parking on non game nights is easy in this neighborhood. On game nights- park in one of the US Cellular Field lots and walk over. I love that Bridgeport has a new gathering place for Sox fans. And that it is within walking distance of the Field. Finally I have somewhere to go after a White Sox game! "Cork and Kerry at the Park" took over the spot formerly occupied by a complete dump known as "Jimbos." If you went into Jimbo's, they would rip you off and give you dirty looks because you weren't a "wanna be" from the neighborhood. This place is anything but that. The entire bar has been remodeled and turned into a pub/restaurant. It rocks. Let's talk about the booze. This place has multiple beers on tap and a huge selections of domestic and imported bottles. It also has a full selection of liquor. Let's talk about the food. The menu is unique because it looks like a line-up card. (Cool idea but sometimes it's difficult to read.) On the home side are the regular offerings such as burgers, pulled pork, etc. The visitor's side changes with every team that comes to town. For instance, I recently had a Pacific Coast Dog while the Angels were in town. This hot dog was awesome and I wish they would keep it on the menu. The chicken wings were tasty but I like them hotter. The pulled pork sandwich is outstanding. (Yes, I've dined there quite a bit). Anyway, if you go there on a game day, get there early. It fills up pretty fast. Have a drink pre-game and then come back after. If you don't have tickets, watch the game there on one of the many flat screens. In closing, this place is outstanding. I used to work near this bar for 2-3 years and have never stepped inside all that time. Boy, I picked the absolute WORST weekend to decide to come by here to watch a White Sox+Bears game with a buddy (Crosstown classic weekend with Cubs @ the Rate). I might have arrived at this bar around the 5th inning of the Sox game, and so far the place was at a decent capacity. Then, the Sox started getting blown out, then more south siders, and north siders, started coming in. Then more came in, and more, and dear God, more..! This is not my idea of a relaxing Sunday afternoon at a bar to watch a football game. Once the Bears game began, it started to become difficult to comfortably walking around the joint, as the drunken people continue to barge in. What's worse is that, after a while, a band started their set at the other end of the bar. I mean really, at all times during a Bears game?? I mean, we only have about 16 of these things a year, and you plan to play a show today, of all days!? I'm not blaming Cork & Kerry for all of this. Honestly, it was all played out hilariously, especially since my buddy, who was nursing a hangover, was in agony with all the commotion going on. While I won't blame all of that on the bar, I gotta say that I cannot stand when I get beer served in a little plastic cup and I gotta pay pint prices. Ridiculous. But, I did like the beer choices. I love me some Bell's Two Hearted Ale and Goose Island 312! Cubs got the Cubby Bear, us White Sox got Cork & Kerry, and it should stay like that! Lets face it, there are a few bars in and around Komisky (I refuse to call it Guaranteed Shit Field or whatever it is these days - suck it), but most of them, well, suck. Crappy sports bars with shitty beer, high prices and a few TVs. Nothing to brag about. They get 1, maybe 2 stars. I want Cork and Kerry to be different. And it is, a little. The beer selection is sparse. Not bad, just not much in the way of options. Yeah, they have Anti-Hero, but that is literally their only IPA. Meh. They do have some nice Irish Whiskies and other drinks, but nothing to get excited about. You can pretty much go to any bar in the city and get the same selection. Food is not bad. Bar food. Not bad, at all. But not impressive. Good, tasty and reasonably priced. But it's not going to blow your skirt up. Lets call it...safe. The staff is very nice. I come here once a month or so to bring my staff for a 'team building' event. The staff of Cork and Kerry always take care of us. They come back often to make sure we've got stuff to eat and drink. They never abandon us. Gotta love that. But the staff is really all that sets this place apart from other sports bars. Bronzeville is not the upscale bar capital of Chicago. It's not the bar capital. Hell, it's not the capital of Chicago in any regard except shootings. And Cork and Kerry is not going to change that overly much. But it is a solid, if uninspired, sports bar. read more

Walking distance to the ballpark and if you can sit outside, way to go. Inside is waaaaaaaaaaaay too noisy. Yes, you have to park at the stadium lots and walk back, but the food is much more delectable than the place that is attached to the ballpark. (I refuse to call the park by the most ridiculous name in major league baseball). Nothing fancy, we just had nachos and burgers, but they were tasty. The salad came with no dressing, the corned beef has cheese and saurkraut, and the two beefs were cold and not worth finishing. The best thing about the lunch was the fries. The restaurant itself is one of the cleanest in Chicago, the country music on the radio is great, and the staff makes you feel like family. WORST EXPERIENCE IN YEARS. My friends and I came here for a well deserved lunch and drinks after running a race at US Cellular Field. It wasn't even a packed house, but tables were filled. Service started out good..pitchers of beer were flowing and the food orders were in. Then things took a turn for the worse... 1. Food took close to an hour to come out with no update on when we'd get it. We only ordered burgers and tater totts and a couple of chicken wraps. When asked for an update, the response was "well you guys placed a big order..." No apologies, no time estimate, no customer service. I've gotten faster service at an outdoor family barbecue. 2. More than 3 orders were messed up. 3. 1 order was forgotten altogether. When we told her about the missing order, she never brought it out. It was only after asking again about the order did our waitress (long hair, fit, dirty blond with glasses) bring it out. And was after 8 of my friends had finished their meals. And the burger came out in less than 5 minutes. Do they make burgers one at a time? 4. Midway through the meal the manager came out an asked for a credit card because we had a large party. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you supposed to open a tab for lunch? And we weren't seated at the bar. 5. The manager, (bald and heavy set) added a gratuity to large party and TAXED THE GRATUITY. YES THATS RIGHT HE ADDED THE GRATUITY ABOVE THE SUBTOTAL AND CALCULATED TAX ON THE GRATUITY. The manager (bald and heavy set) was nasty with our party. When we complained, he explicitly told us to write a comment on Yelp if we have a complaint...So I did. I won't be back and you should consider other options if you come here. read more

Dear Cork and Kerry (and Jake C., the Ill-informed Drum Major of Foolishness), As a member of this 7/25/15 party, I think you're funny... for thinking that terrible operational planning on the part of the proprietors of this establishment (having one server for a packed restaurant is a) not the customers' fault or problem b) displays a lack of operational skill that goes hand in hand with bad service).. being charged for terrible service where 8 of 10 placed orders were incorrect.. took over an hour to receive the total our order (and we're talking burgers and fries here)..realizing that the transaction is going downhill and in the middle of our exorbitantly long wait, proceeds to ask us for a credit card to hold for the bill (at a TABLE where we were all sitting for the duration).. an improperly applied service charge policy that was not displayed.. and the bill was paid with the exception of a fee that is directly associated with a satisfactory level of service. Oh, and the food was mediocre, at best. Gratuity, and especially not 21% gratuity, is not required for bad service. It is actually, by definition, a reward for satisfactory to exemplary service. As a customer service professional, I would be appalled to learn of customers of mine having such an experience. It's funny that you're ignorant to the fact that disparate treatment due to race and stereotypical preconceived notions is something that actually happens in real life. It's not your fault.. maybe. I've never felt so unwanted in a restaurant. After receiving slow service and no assurance that this was an irregular occurrence OR that they were sorry for the long wait time, we were then chastised for being "difficult." They chose to penalize us by subjecting us to an unfair billing policy. Nowhere on the menu do they stipulate the gratuity charge. They also TAXED the gratuity!! I also want to stress that they did NOT ask anyone in my party for their ID. No one in that group was underage BUT, aren't you supposed to ask for ID for anyone that looks younger than 30?! To sum it up, please NEVER bring your business to this restaurant. There are so many better places to spend your hard earned money. Nice that there's a bar within walking distance of the park. That's about all this place has going for it. I think Carol K. rightly points out that this place is still working out the kinks, but they need to get it together. This bar already operates another location in Beverly - it shouldn't be that hard to run a bar if you already know how stuff works. They opened at 11 this morning and we had no problem getting our first round (as we were the only people in the place). There were no servers for about 45 minutes even though the place started to fill rapidly. Once the servers arrived, they were pretty slow considering the crowd that showed up before the Cubs/Sox game. I'm not sure if all of the tables are removed, but once the bar fills it's very difficult to get from the front door to the bathrooms because of a cluster of people at the bar and tables right behind them. There was a lot of bumping and cramming as people tried to get by, so I can't imagine wanting to be here through an entire game for several hours. The food seemed pretty good - we only sampled the Irish Egg Rolls and they were OK. I'm not sure if the "Visitor" side of their menu changes for every Sox game, but I thought that was original and very cool. There were two Cubs themed entrees that gave the bar an original flair. I think the major source of my two star review is Cork and Kerry's completely offensive anti-homosexual Sox/Cubs sign hanging above their bar. I thought it was super weird that a bar would endorse a sign that claims all Cubs fans are homosexual - this can't really be good for business. I'm also not sure if it's this bar or the neighborhood that brings these people out, but there were a ton of people in the bar who were really into the sign. I don't really know if this is Cork and Kerry's fault or if a lot of people in Bridgeport are just racist weirdos, but this really put a damper on my time here. It's just completely in poor taste and I hope the bar doesn't keep it up long. I will definitely be back since I go to a lot of Sox games and I really like that there's a place this close by that serves food, but I really couldn't get into this place. It seemed to start very well and then it went downhill fast. Firstly let me qualify this by saying it wasn't the food, it was a service issue. Guess what, please bring back using a little pad to write stuff down because if you can't remember it, getting the order wrong doesn't cut it. Our order, for starters an order of cheese curds, from the starter menu. Italian fries, from the starter menu (asked to be served later with out burgers) Two burgers, medium rare we picked the side salads instead of fries since we had our special fries coming with the burgers. So it seemed to be taking awhile for the curds, I see one order go by, then another dropped at the bar and the another two tables over. When I flag down the waitress to ask, she says that she's waiting for the fries to come up with them. I asked why, and she said well the fries are on the starter menu and you get fries with the burger. I said, huh? You get fries and the side salad? I thought it was a choice. She then says, oh yeah that's right. Then I remind her that we asked for the fries with the burger. She runs off to check on things, and comes back with our Italian fries, and then informs us that they are out of the cheese curds. Okay WTH? If they weren't served to three other tables first and as our "starter" which it should have been. Then my husband points out that our fries will be cold by the time the burgers come. A bell rings in the distance and she says, that has to be your burgers. Well with that logic then what are these fries, not really the starter she thought to begin with. The thing that really tics me off more than them being out of the cheese curds and the order getting screwed up, was the way she tried to finagle her way out of screwing up the order, first she ignored that we did ask for the fries to be served with the burgers and did it again when she didn't know the menu, since you don't get fries and a side salad. Or did she forget we ordered the side salads. She tried to make me think I didn't know what and how we ordered. As someone that did the job for years, I know how to move things around on a menu. Matter of fact I don't think this is a big deal at all. It's simple, we all make mistakes, I used to be a server and I've had to do the hold your breath, apologize, admit making a mistake, and make it right. She did none of this, I even pointed out the logic of it as we went along. No apology or even let me get you a beer for the order being so screwed up, my guess is doing this would alert the manager that someone was very dissatisfied with the service. We had a Groupon for the meal, we didn't even use it, we just wanted to get out quickly, she must have wanted the same. We did ask for the check and I wanted to finish the last of my beer, that glass was whisked away along with the basket of fries that my husband was working on. The burgers were ordered medium rare, mine had a tiny bit of pink but my husband said his was well done and even a bit brunt on the end. He went on to say he would have sent it back if all the other stuff wasn't going on. He also thought that they really weren't out of the curds, he thought they'd have to start the whole thing over again to make it right, which would mean ditching all the other food. Really too bad, I was looking forward to making this a regular spot, it's so close to home and I have two unused Groupons. After a little search found this place and I said it couldn't be true...well it is. Great bartenders with a good neighborhood crowd.. Welcome you in with smiles even when you're in a Tigers jersey! The closest bars to the IIT campus is Cork and Kerry's and Turtles. They are literally next to each other. Out of the two, Cork and Kerry's has the friendlier bartenders. Jackie is so cool. She knows l like fruity drinks and she'll make sure she has pineapple and orange juices on hand. Before, she wouldn't have any, so now she is prepared when she knows I'm heading there. The one thing is that this place never has the liqueurs that you need. They have like generic or cheaper brands and the drinks do my taste the same.
