A little underwhelming. My friends and I stumbled across White Rabbit on St. Patrick's Day when the neighboring place was too busy. We should have known that this wasn't the most popping spot considering the holiday and how we pranced in without too much of a fight. It was rather empty when we were there. It felt like more of an empty room that just so happened to be a bar. Things just seemed spaced out awkwardly with furniture that didn't go well together. It was rather quiet too. I could not even tell you what music was playing because I could not even hear it. I do appreciate that the place was festively decorated though. It was perfectly on theme for St. Patrick's Day. The bartenders were super friendly here. My friends and I were trying to take a picture together and the bartender kindly snapped some shots of us (both horizontal and vertical pics...chef's kiss). We ordered a round of their Jameson Jell-O shots and they were super good. I'd be curious to come back on a typical weekend night to get a sense of their atmosphere in a different setting. read more

White Rabbit - Inside - Cocktail Bars Near Me - San Francisco, California

Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience. We walked into the bar, ordered our drinks, were served without any issue, and my brother-in-law even left a generous $30 tip. Immediately afterward, security approached us and kicked our entire group out, claiming my brother-in-law was "too intoxicated." This was only our second bar of the night, and nothing about the way the situation was handled made sense to us. If he was supposedly too intoxicated to be there, why were we served drinks in the first place? I immediately asked to speak with a manager because I wanted an explanation. I was told the manager was coming out, so I waited--and nobody ever came. No manager spoke with us, no one properly explained what had happened, and we were given no opportunity to have a reasonable conversation about the situation. Later, I approached another security guard trying to understand what was going on. He directed me to someone else, who told me they had been dealing with people drinking all day and were kicking people out because they had been having issues with other patrons. That made the experience even more frustrating. Whatever problems the establishment had with other customers earlier in the day had absolutely nothing to do with our group. We walked in, purchased drinks, tipped $30, and were then immediately removed based on an accusation that was never properly explained to us. I haven't been to the marina since 2021, and this experience is the reason why. The new staff members, security guards, and bar workers displayed a lack of professionalism and treated customers disrespectfully. The biggest issue wasn't simply being asked to leave--it was the complete lack of professionalism and communication. If there was a legitimate concern, someone could have explained it respectfully. Instead, we were served, took care of the staff with a generous tip, were immediately kicked out, and then left waiting for a manager who never bothered to come speak with us. Completely unacceptable and disrespectful way to treat paying customers. What should have been a fun night turned into an unnecessarily frustrating and horrible experience. read more

My friend Denise and I were talking a walk after dinner, and we passed this place. What drew us in, was the music, which I will expand upon later because it was mood shifting in an everlasting way. Denise was indulging me, and I, on vacation, was looking for a place to pip and bop. We stepped in, not knowing much about the place. We soon found out the name of the establishment: White Rabbit, which automatically made me want to see a Red Queen and Hookah smoking bug. But I saw none. What I saw was a chic spot, with space to dance, sit, sip, mingle, and other such items, but nothing that proclaimed that this White Rabbit belonged to the Alice-in-Wonderland-Universe of known fame. To be fair, there was a mural that was a focal point of the place, which did give Alice vibes in a strong way. However, this mural also did not depict the Alice of Wonderland that Disney allowed us to imagine, instead it gave us Alice gone vogue. The Alice mural (as pictured) has a twenty something girl, with flowing hair, of different shades of blonde and autumn. The girl was looking aimlessly to the horizon. Her eyes were blank yet full of wonder and fully open to an unseen opportunity that she can only love from afar. Her white rabbit had a third eye, and in one hand, she was holding a sweet pop that took the shape of a mushroom and was elegantly oozing with melting pink cream. The picture had become an editorialize version of Alice in a Wonderland that was more modern haute than traditional elevation. I would have preferred an experience that saw a performer dressed as the Mad Hatter and another like the Cheshire Cat. Thus, this vibe claims the name of the White Rabbit but does not deliver an Alice-esque experience. I would have like to know the ambiance of a bar Called Poe's Raven so my imagination can adequately manage its future responsibilities. I went during the days after Christmas, and before New Year's so there was not a lot of people there. This also explains why there is a Grinch and light up tree inflatables around. I can imagine that without the festive decorations, of the season, this bar is a chic cocktail bar where people go to meet and chill, and not discuss the symbolism of the Walrus, the Carpenter, or Anne Hathaway's portrayal of the White Queen. Meaning it is a place to have a good time, not live in deep dialogue. I had three drinks for 16 each. They were strong, well-crafted, and I had three, which says I liked them. I could have had more but my friend Denise was not in the party vibe. And now to the music which was the reason I was excited to write this Yelp. There were three DJ's in the house. The DJ's made Cake Walk, an artist collective who combine rhythm, time, work, and beat and remix (or maybe even update) classics of the 90's and 2000's. In a phrase, they make sweet honey for the ear drums that invite dancing, and general movement thats speaks life into a night- they just carried a good beat along! Denise, who only drank water, and I were vibing to the music, she was sitting, I was not. One of the three DJ's came along to us. His name was Landon, and he was just as nice, sweet, and uplifting, as his and his friend's music. We had conversations about our roles in the world, and how each of them mattered in a specific way. He invited me to party in San Diego. It might not happen, it likely will not, but at least, I believe it could. This was inclusion practiced to a grand degree, in a bar that could be a lounge or club, depending on the night. I want to stress that Denise and I went in because of the music, we stayed cause the place was cool and had drinks that were solid, but it was Landon, and the other DJ's who made the night into a party. For people who are not party dawgs, being escorted into the laser-filled moments of a night, is priceless. Additionally, he invited me to the DJ machine- record spinner? Not sure. And I touch some buttons. Honestly, it looked like a space ship shuttle, with all its button and knobs but I know it is not. I am just trying to describe what I saw based on my knowledge on these machines, which is basically zil. As Landon, and his two co DJ's spun and turned knobs, what seemed to be their parents rolled in. They were dancing, they were taking pictures, I got to see a moment of familial support, in a way I had not seen before. I mean I do not know how many parents would go and party for a quick two minutes when their children were spinning records for a crowd of less than 5 goers. But seeing it was quiet beautiful as all youth deserve to be supported by people who love them unconditionally. And on this night I got to see this promise fulfilled in dance. As I was dancing by myself, Landon came to my side. I started to make the make it rain move, you know pretending that I have enough singles on one hand to just dispense them into the air. And when I did that Landon started to follow the singles dropping with his eyes, expression and movements! Umph!!! read more

Good music, but the place is generally packed on weekend evenings for no room to dance around and socialize. The drinks are more on the expensive side, and the crowd attracted is not always the best. Love going with some friends and enjoying the music with them, however! read more

The guys at the door are lovely. The drinks are good. The music and vibe is also comforting. I love the energy. Go early and bring your pooch for free duck jerky. Definitely A plus. read more

White Rabbit - 2 deny from the fuckass bouncer. plz ask anyone in the entire world. it's real. IM 21.not joking i need compensation of some sort - Cocktail Bars Near Me - San Francisco, California

If I could rate this 0 zero stars i would. not only is the music bad, but so is the atmosphere and staff working on shift. they show no disregard for their guests, and everyone was so disrespectful that I had to leave within five minutes after waiting for an hour in line. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE AT ALL. I USUALLY DON'T RATE ANYTHING BUT WHITE RABBIT WAS SO BAD I HAD TO DOWNLOAD YELP AND RATE IT TO WARN ALL OF YOU. read more

Not a fan of the music they play but cute aesthetic. Very lively. Drinks decent. Lighting is cool.

Security at this place is absolutely the worst. Instead of protecting people, they physically attacked customers . I felt completely unsafe and traumatized. This is unacceptable and dangerous. I will never return to this place again and strongly warn others to stay away. read more

Terrible security, kicked out for "being too drunk" (did not have a single drink) right before new years after spending $40 on a cover... will be charging back. Music & dj are great tho and otherwise is a vibe read more

A chill bar and lounge, with modern and stylish furnishings and artwork on the walls, a stack of vinyl near the DJ booth, and a diverse range of tunes to be heard on a Saturday evening around 7pm, a combination of pop, hip hop, and house music, along with cult classics playing on the TV screens. Staff provided standard service at the bar, no waits, no problems. The fit bunny was my fave, a nice blend of strawberry and lemon flavors and a decent amount of alcohol to balance it out. But the other cocktails we tried were good too, the lucky in kentucky, and brown butter old fashioned which had a unique chocolate taste. Cool spot, would definitely return, but timing is everything. read more

The food was better than I expected! I thought it would be typical bar food but it was actually impressive, definitely one of the best food I can find in the area that's also open late. Reasonably priced, I will be back after my late night sports events. read more

- good music - nice atmosphere - overcrowded Good club with good music and drinks. WAY too over crowded, seemed like the bouncers didn't control the amount of people coming in. read more

I wouldn't even give 1 star to this place. Got robbed at White Rabbit and they did nothing about it. Then I TRIED to give them another chance and I got rejected from coming in because "I was too intoxicated" when I wasn't and the bouncer was distracted from doing his job. This is very disappointing, because this was a place I used to go to before I got robbed. I decided to try to give it a chance and this happened. I was going to give this place my business, and they rejected it. I will NEVER be going here again read more

It's meh....overpriced and you will listen to the same song for 3 hours straight but if you want that I guess you'll have a good time

No one is in here..totally dead. Asked for music, looked like a deer in the headlights! Unbelievable!

A quick disclaimer - I've been to white rabbit multiple times (and loved it!) and have never had an issue until this bouncer. To set the precedence - I was celebrating a birthday with a few friends. After my friend slipped him a $20 to skip the line (which he chastised us for saying out loud because he'd get in trouble with his boss), he let us in through the back door to the back of the club. Later that night, I left the bar to ask the same bouncer if I could let two more of my friends come in. I offered to pay the same rate to let them in (just to quickly say hi to my friends, they were just passing by). He then started yelling, "how tacky, how dare you suggest that!" & slurs at me and aggressively getting in my face. My friends tried to calm him down. A few passerby suggested I let it go, but I left shocked. The other bouncers didn't hear. Anyways, I hope this guy get some sort of training. Don't come here with a group, and @management - train your fucking bouncers. ***I have 15 people to back up my story too, so please don't gaslight me. read more

Had high expectations but slightly disappointed. Food was ok - noodles were mediocre. Atmosphere is cute just wish food was better.

My group and I came and left so quick. We went out last night to White Rabbit to go bar hopping. It smelled of bad B.O. and just super crowded. We didn't even get a first round of shots. Maybe we'll try another night, but last night was not it. read more

Cool bar if you're under 23 years old, have no specific music taste, and like being packed in a crowd LOL. Drinks are bare minimum. The bar is small and always seems packed. Dance floor full of sweaty people with flailing arms. The DJ actually has some pretty decent DJ skills (can transition well and actually up there working hard vs playing next on a playlist) but the music just shuffled through different genres to try to please everyone. 15min of edm, 15min of Latin/reggaeton, 15min of pop/top40, 15min early 2000s, and repeat. It looks cool from the outside and the big glass doors/windows, lighting, mural wall, and long line to get in definitely make it look enticing from the street... but if you're not in the demographic described in the first line of this review I'd keep walking. read more

I've been here a couple of times & the last time I was here I was sitting at the bar when one of the workers asked me to get up to "make room" because the place was getting packed.. however my chair being removed made no difference other than the fact I was pissed. I think it's a beautiful venue. Very comfortable seating, pleasant people working here We came for The Doors and the DJ playing the tapes from the Matrix when Jim Morrison sang and recorded it. This place used to be called the Matirix The history of this place is really interesting It's called White Rabbit because of Jefferson airplane was the house band. Also Boz scaggs, Santana, Grateful Dead, and many more performed here. I wonder if patrons know this? The bartender took my wine order immediately even tho it was crowded. Which I really appreciated No food service which I kinda missed I did leave early cause everyone was talking so loudly I couldn't hear the music the dj was playing (my friend went in bathroom and said she could hear music perfectly, fyi) read more

Out of all the nearby bars in the area, White Rabbit was by far the best one. That being said, it was still an interesting vibe. There was a variety of different ages and the music was giving frat. The drinks weren't too bad though overall. I tried the 70 calorie margarita which I highly don't recommend (honestly my fault though like what was I thinking trying to stay skinny at a bar) and the fit bunny which was much yummier. The drinks also came out super quickly. read more

The drinks here are strong and there's always a lot of people crowding this area at night. Unfortunately, I've seen this place at its better days and sadly, post-pandemic did not treat this place well. It could be the people who frequent this place, but every time I go, there's always a brawl happening and service could be a lot better. read more

30 minute line to get in? I understand if you are at capacity, but as we made our way to the front, we saw around 12-15 people leave. Bouncers still didnt let people in. Never a fan of businesses that use having a line as a way to look cool or exclusive. Speaking of bouncers, one bouncer in particular didnt like how i was right outside the stansion waiting with my group of friends. He said i cut the line and even after my friends vouched for me, he wouldnt budge. He said he's been watching me and i couldnt leave the line and come back to my friends? I left the line since 1. It was a 30 minute line, and 2. I had another friend around the block not feeling well. After a VERY small verbal dispute, the bouncer reaches for his gun to escort me out? Why is a gun your first resort. Didnt ask me to leave and his partner did not even say a single word. This altercation maybe lasted 15 seconds and a gun had to be flashed to me. Pretty sickening knowing the state our country is in regarding gun violence. read more

Wish I could give NO STARS!!! Apparently there's a no baggy clothes policy that only gets enacted when it's convenient for them.... My favorite place to party in SF. No matter where I start the night, I always end up at the white rabbit. All the staff are super cool. Great sound system and good Dj's. I love how it's a high energy bar. Also the VIP room in the back is a whole different speakeasy type vibe. And after 2 am the party moves to the sidewalk, which is a lot of fun too. Have a Birkin bag and a (minimum) $40k wrist watch and you can cut the line on a Friday night. You'll bypass the line and enter through the side door/alley. Once you enter, you end up in a private room. When you walk out to the main area, you'll realize you're older than almost everyone by god knows how how many years and want to go home. Done. Normally a big fan of white rabbit, but this Wednesday night was a different story. It was the end of the night and we were finishing our drinks. We were complementary to the dj bc he was playing after the band finished and it took a turn for the worse. He became aggressive and started to harass us, to the point where we didn't even finish our drinks. I told the staff that this was a little intense and we left. He continued to yell at us from across the room even as we were exiting. I really hope he doesn't continue to work here. This was highly inappropriate and uncalled for. read more

Tried to hand bouncer my ID. He says, "It'll be a 10min wait". Friendly voice: "10 min? It doesn't look crowded inside". "Do you want it to be a 10 minute wait or a 30 minute wait?" Umm... ok. That escalated quickly. We ask again why it'll be 10 minutes, and he cocks his head like a sponge bob meme and starts talking to us like we're toddlers: "It'Ll Be TeN MiNuTeS bECaUsE tHe BaRTeNdErS nEeD tO cAtCh Up..." No worries guy. 10 minute wait wouldn't have been a big deal. No need to be rude and speak to us in a condescending manner. Literally racially profiled my friend. He had a ticket to new years and he was the only one of our friends who wasn't allowed. He was the only brown friend in our group and the only one not allowed.
