Drinks were okay -- expected it to be a little better for the price. But the djs were great! The only bad thing is that they are very picky on the dress code so be mindful of that. My friend couldn't get in supposedly for having on sports attire -- meanwhile a woman next to the door had on yoga pants. The standard is a bit all over the place. My friend had a button up hoodie on so I asked could if he covered it could he come inside. I was referred by the door woman to speak to Lexi the manager about it. Lexi states that he can "try" to come in with it buttoned. I go back to the door woman -- she says he can't come in at all. I advised her of what the manager stated and then she proceeds to try to convince me that she manages the door now. They were definitely making it up as they went. Bottle service at Skylark knows how to make you feel special. Came with a group of about 40-50 for a friend's event afterparty. We worked directly with the venue to organize the experience. When it comes to bottle service, there are a number of packages to choose from with different quantities of benefits like free entries, amount of bottles, etc. Our group was placed to the left of the entrance in a larger table space. This area also had a direct access to the bar which was very convenient so no one had to go out and navigate the floor to make their way to the bar. When the bottles come out, it comes with sparklers and light up signage to commemorate whatever the moment is. The DJ, who plays hip hop, r&b, and top 40s, also chimes on to make the moment extra memorable. Service is friendly and the bottle attendants help pour everyone's first round. As soon as I walked in Dominic was there to welcome you in. Super nice and friendly. Dominic mentioned that the food was going to start to be served so line up soon. I did and I was glad for that tip because the line got long. The food was pupusas from panchitas (that's right next door). Food was great and good portions. The bar tenders were super nice and I even got to talk to them afterwards. oh! having London there (tequila info cazadores) was so perfect! all the swag and the smooth tequila shot! so knowledgable that I walked away feeling like we did a tequila tasting. such a fun vibe the drinks were good but I always wish they gave them out in taster sizes so I could taste more of them and not get stuck with the ones I didn't like. Skylark is normally not too busy so it is easy to get in on the weekends! The bar is pretty small, but it's nice that there is seating. Their mixed drinks have not been good every time I have gone, and they also charged me an automatic 20% gratuity on one mixed drink after assuming that I was part of a group... Was not happy about this and the person who charged me could not give a good answer as to why this happened. I also ordered a midori sour and it was not good. I hosted a private joint birthday party (2-6PM) with one of my best friends at Skylark - Dave, Kim, and the crew were a joy to coordinate with. They communicated with clear and concise instructions. They answered all my questions within 24 hours via text or call. We held a private event at Skylark - a surprise engagement party for my brother. Everything went smoothly. The bar owners were kind and very accommodating. They helped us with last minute tools that we didn't know we needed during set-up. They also allowed our caterer to do a site tour several weeks prior to the event. This was very helpful to our caterer to plan set-up for 150 people. They also have a DJ equipment onsite which our DJ was able to easily used. This place has been around and the owners have down a pretty modern renovation. Oh and drinks were top notch. I highly recommend this place for future private events. read more

This is a fun and lively space in the Mission to come for cocktails, and it was decorated festively for the holidays. I recently came here for a happy hour event and tried the Jack Frost and Ube Daiquiri drinks. They were extra sweet and tasted like drinkable desserts. My friends and I had such a fun time at Skylark. The staff and service was so attentive, kind, and accommodating. They frequently checked in on us and were very thoughtful when asking what type of chaser we wanted. The ambiance felt very safe, friendly, and fun! We did end up going a bit earlier in the night, I mean around 11 PM. So not that early lol, but I will say the later it got into the night the more packed the bar became! The owner Kim and her husband were truly great hosts and I have really enjoyed my interactions with Kim so far. I met her husband briefly and he also seemed very nice. He went out of his way to say hello and make sure we were enjoying our night! I brought some of my friends to Skylark, also the pictures on Yelp and Insta made the environment look so fun! People were very respectful around us and the DJ played fun music. We had a bottle of tequila and we definitely had a good night! They also brought out a sign for us and a sparkler which was SO fun. I came with a group of 6 people to watch the niners playoff game and indulged in their happy hour specials (maybe too much). $2 tacos and $5 well shots and beers. The bar works pretty fast and was attentive. It got pretty busy as the game went on but ordering wasn't an issue so big shout to the bartenders. They have security and do pat downs for guys. For food, we ordered tacos (chicken, beef, or steak) and fries ($5). Everything was made fresh. My only complaint is that the ordering system is kind of confusing. We order at the bar and then someone brings the food in from outside to the bar. Then the bartender flags down whoever ordered the food. The orders have numbers so I'm not sure why they don't call out the orders. The food ultimately arrives hot and tasted great. I'll be back for another game or HH. read more

New management, new Skylark! Despite being a popular spot, Skylark hasn't always had the best reputation. But it's under new management and has been newly renovated. It looks great inside! I stopped in to try their holiday drinks, something they've never had and is great to see. The space is decked out in holiday decor and the staff was in the spirit. I tried: Polar Espresso Martini (8/10), Like A Red Nose Mule (9/10), and Dusse Eggnog (9/10), the eggnog was definitely my favorite. Where to begin - firstly the owners, Dave and Kim, are amazing, communicative, and kind and were incredible in making all our engagement party dreams come true! They corresponded with us for months making sure we had everything we needed. We rented out the entire bar for a very reasonable price, which included two kind bartenders (shoutout Tiffany!) and the space was perfect for our 60-70 person party. I used to like coming to this bar and it was years since I went so I decided to have a drink and check it out. Wow...what a mistake. The place still looks the same and it brought back memories, but the bartenders are the worst in the industry. January 7th I walk in and make eye contact with the Asian woman behind the bar. I position my body to her since she's the closest bartender to me. I keep my eyes on her so she knows I'm waiting for a drink. She didn't even acknowledge me once. So I look to my right and see another bartender. Tall black guy, my people, right? Great! Well, maybe not so. He's on his phone and is not giving an F on what's happening around him. I'm standing there for 5min at this point. So back to the lady behind the bar. At this point, one of her male friends walks in and sits right next to me, and she immediately focused her attention on him. Asking him what he wants and how he's been. Like seriously? Ok, let's check back on the other bartender... He finally makes his way over to me and I had to call him out because no one was taking care of me. I ask him "do you make drinks for customers?" He says yes. I follow up with "ok cool because I've been waiting forever it seems." He then claims he was busy and working. Keep in mind he never noticed me while I was there so I know he was lying when I could see him laughing and playing on his phone the whole time. Anyway...I call him out about being on his phone the whole time; he then goes off on me about how he was busy, and he has the right to refuse service and then tells me I have to leave. While this is happening the lady bartender is just looking lost at us. Like lady...you saw me waiting. I won't be returning if those two bartenders are there. read more

This review is long overdue! We visited Skylark on March 26, 2022. My sister and her partner were visiting from DC, and we had just seen a great show at the Oasis on a Saturday and wanted to dance, but low-key, not pay a cover charge or wait behind a velvet rope, and all that nonsense. So, we were directed to the Skylark, which was precisely what we were looking for. There was a chill vibe to the place, but no one was on the dance floor, so my sister's partner asked the DJ to spin some disco tunes, and my sister practically pulled people to the dance floor until it was the place to be. We had such a good time that we all walked out and completely forgot about her closing out her card. We discovered this the next morning, but the bar was closed for two days, and she was flying out before it re-opened. Luckily, we were able to get in touch with Steve, the owner, who very graciously opened up the bar on Monday morning so, we could dash into the city and retrieve the card. It was a huge relief to know that the card was found and safe, and completed the experience. So, dance the night away, but don't forget to pay your bill! read more
