I stopped in for lunch! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a very gorgeous restaurant. I was served by Saniya and she was nice. I had: Espresso Yourself Vodka Martini Green Risotto Shrimp Chilean Seabass Chicken Picatta Molten Chocolate Cake My favorite was the green risotto shrimp! I had a great time here all in all!

The staff were super welcoming and attentive. I loved the Christmas decorations. Our favorite dish was the grilled octopus. It's a must get if you love a creamy sauce. I could've honestly ate the whole thing to myself. Love the prime location and will be back for the grilled octopus.

White Olive was an exceptional experience. Located within the Shoreham Hotel, this restaurant has to be seen, in order to be believed. The dining room is polished with sandstone walls, white oak floors, and cream cushioned leather chairs. It is well lit and every type of seating looked very comfortable. Their signature cocktails were incredible. I asked for a "sweet" selection and our extraordinary Server, Nadia, recommended the Blue Sky (Altos Reposado Tequila, coconut, lime juice, cointreau, blue curacao, dried orange, and coconut flakes). I cannot recommend this drink, enough! It was remarkably smooth, deliciously sweet, and every flavor came together to create this memorable drink. We started with the Mushroom Risotto (Creamy risotto with mixed mushroom and truffle oil). This appetizer had a silky texture, the seasoning was exquisite, and is a wonderful starter. Our entrees were: White Olive Signature Pasta (Fresh fettuccini pasta tossed with creamy sauce, mixed peppers, shallot onion, brussel sprouts, and smoked salmon). The other entree was Lobster Pasta (Maine lobster over fettuccini in creamy alfredo sauce). Both of these dishes were LARGE, flavorful, and we even had to ask for to-go boxes, because of the large servings. Highly recommend both items. White Olive is a highly recommended restaurant, where you will receive top notch service, drinks, and memorable food.

GNO and what a great choice. 55th off of 6th Ave, cute little intimate spot. Very nicely decorated and you immediately feel like you are about to enjoy some fine dining. For starters I had a Figgy Business, sooo good! One girlfriend had the White Olive Punch and she said it was amazing and the other had a Sauvignon Blanc and I switched to a Cabernet Sauvignon for dinner. Then we ordered Tuna Tartare, hands down, so fresh and so good can definitely eat by itself. It came with some pita bread and I want to say so other crackers but I was too focused on the tartare. We also ordered Calamari cause why not? I prefer the tartare over the calamari because I am biased, I loved it! For dinner, I had the lamb chops, so tender and flavorful, would definitely recommend. One girlfriend had the Red Snapper and that was cooked to perfection, she normally ends up taking food home but that night she ate the whole thing, which meant it was good. The other girlfriend had the Beef Bourguignon, the meat literally cut like butter with one swipe of the fork. It was so delicious, like a mini explosion of flavor in your mouth paired with the garlic mashed potatoes, definitely a comfort food, which she ate all of as well. For dessert we shared a slice of the Crème Brûlée cheesecake, a small piece of heaven. I am not a sweetie person and neither was my other girlfriend but that night we happily enjoyed that slice together. That nice little crunch combined with cheesecake, a great end to the night out after having such an amazing meal. Our server, Sophia was so cute and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Service was outstanding on her behalf, very attentive during the dinner crowd. Music is playing softly in the background so you speak normally to your companion (s). I will definitely be back here to try other items from the menu. I can almost say, I had the feeling that I was in Greece again, minus the 9 hour flight. Excellent experience White Olive!

Food is visually appealing and tasty. Atmosphere is a modern flare with comfort. The fried liver was exceptionally prepared.

Walked in without a reservation on a weekday with no expectations but left pleasantly surprised by both food and service. The service was extraordinary and our server Nadia was attentive, open to giving recommendations and friendly! The chicken picatta was so tender and calamari was well done without any frills. If you're in the area stop by!

We were seated at a table that had something on my chair and the fringe of the decorative top tablecloth had food stains. We asked to change the decorative top and she said to change tables. So we did. I got the lentil soup, grilled halloumi, and the red snapper. We drank Pellegrino. I didn't like that the glasses were plastic. The soup was good. Very much a tomato base. The halloumi was a bit salty. I had the red snapper and my friend got the sea bass. Neither were impressed with the fish. Place was pretty empty when we started. Nice decor. Good service. A quiet oasis in the city.

Had dinner at White Olive on a Friday evening, drawn by its clean, modern vibe and promise of Mediterranean flavors. The space was stylish and quiet, though over-air-conditioned, which made it less comfortable. Service was efficient and informed. The mezze platter looked pre-scooped and was hit or miss--the tzatziki and chicken salad were solid, but the hummus and eggplant lacked flavor. They charged us extra for cucumbers even though we forwent the pita and you'd think a Mediterranean restaurant has plenty of cucumbers to offer. The Greek salad was cucumber-heavy and basic. Sea bass came beautifully plated but underseasoned, with small portions and more garnish than substance. At $225 for two (with just one glass of wine), the experience felt overpriced for the quality. A good-looking place that needs to back it up on the plate.

This was such a great find! Ambiance: The restaurant was beautiful! So perfectly decorated and such attention to detail. They have beautiful foliage and twinkle lights. The dishware and glassware matches perfectly with the theme of the restaurant. They also have really cute serving ware that enhances the dining experience. Food: Food was so good! The pita bread was perfectly cooked and came out fresh and hot. It had some really nice seasoning on it too. We ordered the 4 mezze deal and all 4 of the mezzes were excellent. It is really hard to pick one favorite so I'd say the two I loved the most were the White Olive Spicy Ezme and the Htipiti. We also got the Tzatziki and the Melitzanosalata and they were also really good. I will say that the White Olive Spicy Ezme is something unique that I haven't found at any of the other Mediterranean restaurants we've been to in the city. We also good the salad and it had so many different fresh vegetables and the dressing was well seasoned. The Halloumi cheese was also a personal favorite. It was seasoned with capers and other veggies and a vinaigrette that added the perfect level of acidity. Service: The service was good, very friendly. It was a bit slow though. Price: The restaurant is on the higher end of prices but I wouldn't say it's unreasonable considering the portion sizes. Additional Bonus: The restaurant is on Seated so we got cash for dining there :) If you don't used the Seated app, I highly recommend it as a NYC diner. Calamari hummus and bread.

We stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. It has a great atmosphere. We did not have a reservation but were seated immediately. They were not very busy. We sat for at least 20 min at our table without being acknowledged by any server. We did finally order drinks and 2 appetizers and a side as they were completely out of all of their charcuterie items. The calamari was outstanding. The hummus was just ok and the Brussels were marginal.

Great place for dinner or happy hour in the heart of NYC. Service was great, beautiful restaurant. Hummus was delicious.

4 Mezze Choices

Last night, we visited White Olive for the second time, having reserved a table for Valentine's Day. They took us to the back room, and we initially thought it was a special, better table. However, the lighting and design of the back room were completely off and didn't compare to the main dining area, which has a street view. We ordered four mezze dishes, but the menu items, presentation, and taste were drastically different from our previous visit. Last time, the dips were delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, none of the dips this time lived up to those standards (you can see the difference in the photo). We also ordered a chicken piccata--it was okay, but not nearly the same quality as before. Even the service wasn't as good as our first experience. We had loved this place the first time, which is why we chose it for Valentine's Day, but this time we were really disappointed.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious.
