My husband and I work in Manhattan and stumbled upon this cute, intimate spot. The highlights are definitely the atmosphere and the hospitality. They have a beautiful, covered outdoor seating area in the back that is perfect for a cozy night out, and the waitstaff was phenomenal. The service was a true 10/10, everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and constantly checked in on us. We decided to do a full tasting experience and ordered two of everything: appetizers, entrees, and desserts. While we fully expected an expensive bill given the location and what we ordered, we ultimately felt the menu was overly priced. The food was good, but it leaned more toward average and didn't quite live up to the premium price tag. Go for the amazing service and the romantic backyard garden vibes, but keep the high menu prices in mind!
Really enjoyed our visit to Giardino 54. Super cute restaurant with a nice bar and dining area in front and a small outdoor like area. Service was excellent. Posted immediately cleared, water filled and server excellent. Sunday had a 50% off of bottles which we took advantage of. Branzino, lasagna and had to have the cannolis for desert! Will absolutely return!
Hidden away in Hell's Kitchen is this gem . No tourist or Theater crowds . One of those NYers neighborhood haunts. COZY . Our dishes , were chef kiss. Nothing fancy , but delicious . Portions good . I prefer a smaller selection well made the wider range marginal taste . Prices were reasonable . Our waiter was awesome . Sorry forgot his name but he is from Albania . The trifecta of what makes a great find .
Came here for dinner on a weekday. The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, cozy, and comfortable atmosphere! The place was busy the whole time we were there, so I highly recommend making a reservation. Amazing service! The food was very good and reasonably priced. The food was fresh and came out fast. Portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. I had Orechiette Broccoli with gluten free penne, which was ok, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Others had something else I had no interest in to remember the name. Their menu has many options to offer, including gluten free, soy free, and dairy free options. We would come back again and highly recommend you check out this place if you are in Columbus Circle or Hell's Kitchen.

Gee R Dano. Makes ya feel like ya back in Milano. Cozy spot. Brick around ya. Some greenery. High top seats. Small joint with a bar - real neighborhood trattoria vibe. The only complaint is in the winter this placing is freezing, begging ya to develop a sneezing. Suit up or go in the summa. The food is worth it. Il Cibo (The food... for you one linguals): Lemony and vibrant calamari, a little twist to a common tale. Love it. The eggplant rollatini shockingly entered our order and did not disappoint. Brava. Mia ragazza got the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, a rich and smooth cream putting you into dream state. I played around with the spaghettini (a wonderful word when said correctly). Top notch. One of my favorite pasta dishes I've had. So fresh it tasted like the pasta grew out the ground, was plucked, and immediately plated. Just a great experience. Didn't have enough time to hit the secondi due to a show we attended, and I'll forever regret it. I don't travel to the bustling city much. Bright lights don't bother a talent such as myself but the stank and the crank of the streets can occasionally de-luster the lustered city. The travel can make one unravel and bang their head on some gravel. But for Giardino 54, I may do so once more. I came to this place because I pass it all the time and the ambiance/decor is so beautiful. It feels like you're transported out of the grit of Hell's Kitchen. The bar is very cozy and the staff is all very kind. They have a killer happy hour! It's a must come to, but you have to sit at the bar. I had a delicious dirty martini and they have a lovely selection of wine. The food is very tasty (and filling!)
Steak was very flavorful, but it was very thin and small. Wish there was more. We had a large number of appetizers from the menu. All were unique and flavor well seasoned and flavorful, especially the meatballs. The zucchini flower app was delightful and surprisingly stole the show. I had never heard of an edible flower, but the story with the flavor blew my mind. I was upset there was no chicken Parm on the menu of an Italian restaurant, but I guess that means it's authentic.
My coworkers and I came here for a linner (lunch/dinner) we were able to be seated at the back of the restaurant overlooking the garden area. This restaurant is very beautiful inside! Especially the bar area *swoon*. We all got a variety of appetizers from the fresh grilled octopus to the zucchini flowers. These were the two standouts. Zucchini flowers were crispy and full of flavor. It is my first time trying it and I was super impressed. The octopus is freshly grilled and seasoned well. The drink I got (I forgot the name) was very well made. The stars of the evening was the entrees. I got the ossobocco and omgggg the bone marrow was deletable, the veal fell off the bone. It was super super yummy. My friend got the crispy pork belly fish which he loved too. I think we all enjoyed our meals and just hanging out at this beautiful restaurant. I would def. Come back next time I'm in the area!

The grilled calamari was a little flavorless so that was a little big of a let down, if I come back i'll try the octopus legs instead. My spaghetti was really delicious I would eat this dish very often if I could. Definitely worth checking out if you want an affordable italian dinner in NYC
This unassuming cozy spot in Hells Kitchen packs a punch! Not only is the staff so lovely and accommodating, the food is authentically prepared and utterly delicious. I was craving pasta and the bucatini hit the mark. Who knew such a tiny kitchen could crank out such big dishes. Bravo
Solid but not unforgettable! We had made a dinner reservation in advance, but probably didn't need one, since they weren't super busy on a Saturday evening. I was hoping to sit in the garden, but we were seated in front of the entrance, where they had two outdoor tables. The interior had a nice-looking bar, and mostly high-top seating. For drinks, I got a glass of Chianti and my sister got a glass of Pinot Grigio - both were good! We decided to skip appetizers and ordered two pasta dishes to share - the Tortelloni al Burro e Salvia and Lasagna all'Emiliana. Service was friendly and impressively quick! The Tortelloni were filled with spinach and ricotta and served in a butter sage sauce. The pasta was cooked well, and the sauce was very tasty. However, the Lasagna all'Emiliana was my favorite of the two, mostly due to its sauce. Both dishes were filling, and a good portion size for two people. They also had a Yelp check-in offer for "3 free Desserts & Limoncello", but I believe this only applied to large parties. Overall, a good dinner, but not one I'm dying to revisit.
Great hidden gem! The beet salad was fresh. The halibut special was cooked wonderfully and I liked the sauce with caper berries. The risotto was so good. One of the best ever. And the tiramisu was wonderful as well. Would definitely eat here again.
There are two things NYC is saturated with: 1) Angry, impatient people; and 2) Overpriced, mid-quality Italian restaurants. Giardino 54 is the epitome of #2. Even for brunch, a usually cheaper meal, you can expect to pay prices in the $25+ range for small portions of average-tasting pasta. And to make matters worse, the two most interesting pastas--the Bucatini and the Paccheri--are the two that aren't handmade. I should know--I got the Paccheri all' Amatriciana and can attest that it didn't have the nonna quality in any way, shape or form. I even added a side of Home Fries because I could tell I'd still be hungry. I think something got lost in translation because I got lumpy mashed potatoes instead. Que? And the Ricotta & Pistachio Cheesecake was a waste of $15. Small, dry and tasteless. If you must have Italian in the area, try to get a table at Norma a block away. Much, much better.

Steak was very flavorful, but it was very thin and small. Wish there was more. We had a large number of appetizers from the menu. All were unique and flavor well seasoned and flavorful, especially the meatballs. The zucchini flower app was delightful and surprisingly stole the show. We had a reservation on a weekend. We sat in the back area, which had a lot of natural lighting, but was on the colder side for winter. I got a cappuccino and the bucatini alla norma. The cappuccino was good, but small for the price. The texture of the bucatini was al dente. I wish there was more sauce though. The portion size was okay, I finished it all and felt full. We also ordered a tiramisu to share which was very tasty! Overall it was a decent spot for a weekend brunch that is not overcrowded or loud. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and the food was so delicious! My friends ordered various sandwiches and pasta, and we all loved our dishes. I ordered the avocado egg sandwich and the bread was so fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Very quaint vibes inside and service was fast. read more

Ate on the small front patio (only two tables) and we were treated to amazing service and excellent food. Everything was full of flavor and extremely fresh. Extensive wine and cocktail list. The fresh pasta was amazing, and the salad was full of great flavors. We ate every single bite of all of our food. Be sure to make a reservation! read more

Grabbed dinner with my friends. It was empty and quiet. Loved the atmosphere. Gave off cute, cozy vibes. The service was excellent. Checked in us frequently and refilled our waters. The cocktail was very strong and pretty looking. I ordered Amalfi coast. My friends really enjoyed the cocktail Raggio di Sole, it's on the sweeter side. For food, we shared the Polipo e Patate (one small octopus leg). It was tasty, but little. I also ordered Bucatini alla norma as my main. It was a big portion and I enjoyed it. However, it is expensive. I had only one cocktail, a small appetizer and a pasta dish for $95. If I had gotten another cocktail like my friends have, it would have been over $100. Keep in mind this spot is a bit expensive. read more

Oh my goodness our meal here was amazing! We did not have a reservation so we went around 5:30. They fit us in and it was our lucky night. The beet salad was fabulous and the tortelloni with brown butter was out of this world. We will be back! read more

I had a great brunch experience here on Saturday! I was craving an Italian brunch and was delighted to see that this place had many free reservations. To begin, the service is great! Everyone is really friendly and accommodating. The interior is beautiful. The brick contrasting with the plants is truly stunning. The food is amazing! We tried the octopus, bucatini alla Norma, and berry waffles. The waffles were some of the best I've ever eaten. Popped in for happy hour. Sat at the bar and enjoyed some really lovely food. Staff were very friendly and it has a lovely vibe. Wasn't a huge fan of the cod paste bruschetta, but the other two were great. For something lighter, the zucchini spaghetti is a good option. read more

We came in to the city hungry, tired and wet from the rain. I needed to find an Italian restaurant near where we were staying. Thank you Yelp for being a great resource. We were able to get a reservation and walked over. Upon entering you know you are walking in to a hidden gem. We sat in the back and were greeted by a lovely waiter who took such good care of us. I don't remember his name but he's from Albania so I want to give a shout out to him. I had a much needed glass of wine that was perfect. We split the insalata de campo which was perfect to share. I had the ravioli special which was photo worthy and my husband had the lasagna which he loved. What was also so great was it didn't break the bank. I love this place and hope to get back here the next time we are in NYC. It's romantic...great date place. It's cozy, warm and not pretentious. read more
The food was delish. The oil and balsamic that was brought to the table was next level good, so much flavor. I tried the Tortelloni al Burro e Salvia which is a home-made Tortelloni filled with Spinach & Ricotta in Butter Sage Sauce. The pasta was cooked just prefect and had so much flavor in the dish. The only draw back to this place is its rather small interior. They do have a back area that adds a few tables but overall small and cozy. Our server was good and attentive. What a special Hell's Kitchen neighborhood spot. Exquisitely prepared dishes with each one having a delicious twist. The burrata on the thinly sliced beets with oranges and black olives and almonds was superb. As was the parmigiana di verdura appetizer made with incredibly thinly sliced eggplant, pasta and squash in a simple but elegant and perfectly matched fresh tomato sauce. My honey had the shrimp and calamari pasta and I had the Cornish game hen, both of which excellent. Would definitely return when in the area. A total winner. This restaurant is very romantic place, I wish our group can sit inside because I really like the ceiling and the vibe of the bar, but they don't have enough room, so we have to sit in the garden. The second thing I missed was we ate at another restaurant before and we didn't plan to stuff ourselves too much over there, so we didn't have any room left. I saw in the menu they have many interesting foods and I want to come back next time to try. We had 3 bottles of wine, cheese board and birthday cake for my friend. Delicious food, but quite pricey for the portions. We were seated at the outside area, which felt like a greenhouse that was decorated with plants and shielded us from the cold outside. They give you free bread with balsamic and olive oil. I ordered the tortelloni al burro e salvia ($28), which is tortelloni filled with spinach and ricotta in a sage and butter sauce. It was silky, rich, and flavorful, but only came with 5 tortelloni. One of the other people at my table found it to be enough, but I was still slightly hungry afterwards. If you order the calamari ($22), don't expect fried calamari. It's four pieces of tender squid stuffed with spinach and parmesan that comes with tomato sauce and polenta. read more

Really excellent dinner for our last night in NYC. Handmade pasta; both our dishes were excellent (spaghetti w the cream mushroom sauce and smoked prosciutto, and the tortellini). The halibut special was incredible. The servers were excellent -- they hustled more than almost any servers I have ever seen. Great beer/wine selections and OMG the ricotta pistachio cheesecake was absolutely perfect. Rich and creamy but somehow light. Wrapped up our girls trip to NYC here and it was the perfect choice. Yes! They have some sides that are already vegan (broccoli rabe, potatoes, cannellini beans) then they have a soup and if you ask, they can make some pastas vegan (risotto and gnocchi)
