Everything came out quickly, was served hot, and tasted fantastic. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I was surprised he liked hot sauce on his eggs, for example, and he said he did, which is great because one dish came with extra hot sauce. I reheated the grits the following day and they were actually good! That was the highlight of this take out meal for me. I thought the gravy in one of the dishes was sausage gravy, because doesn't everyone in the south add sausage to their gravy? But, it was just plain gravy. Boo! The eggs were pretty dead looking the next day (not their fault, I know), so I didn't try any of them. The bacon was undercooked for my preference but could have been easily remedied by popping in the air fryer. That was more effort than I wanted to expend on salvaging these dishes. Hubs is a biscuit fan and he was happy to devour whatever I did not, and again, he had no complaints which is excellent! I am not a biscuit fan at all, I just can't make myself like biscuit-forward dishes. I'm not even a fan of potatoes, which were in several of the dishes. They appeared to be prepared well, just did not appeal to me.

I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip just to come here, but it's a decent choice for quick service breakfast/lunch/brunch in the area.

Day one I ate the shrimp and day two I cooked some andouille sausage we had, removed the grease from my leftovers, and had the grits with our andouille medallions. The grits were cheesy and creamy and really good and they did taste great with the addition of our sausage. I'm sure Tupelo Honey would have corrected the missing sausage had I been present at lunch. After some whispering, he informed us there was a one-hour wait for a table, but we could choose to sit at the bar immediately. Sitting at the bar wasn't our ideal vision for a special birthday dinner- my friend doesn't drink, and I don't drink and drive. However, after fighting heavy traffic to get there and being very hungry, we decided to take seats at the bar to try and salvage the night. What was really disturbing was during our two-plus hours at the restaurant, we watched two tables remain empty the entire time. It was deeply frustrating to sit at the bar and wonder why guests were being given a long wait time when open seating was available in plain sight. However, Tracey and Austin completely turned our night around! Despite the rocky start, our experience at the bar was fantastic thanks to these two great bartenders. Tracey went above and beyond by crafting delicious, custom mocktails so we could properly toast to the occasion.
