Cedar Plank Salmon with mashed potatoes
    Kevin M.

My wife and I were seated as soon as we arrived (on time with our reservation) on a Tuesday night. The booth we sat at was clean and comfortable with soft lighting. Our waitress, Ariel, was very attentive and made sure we had plenty of zero. We had drinks--wine and a Manhattan cocktail. The food was quite tasty and full of flavor. The bread that came to the table was very good. Almost sweet cornbread muffins but a different texture. I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with mashed potatoes and a substitute side of creamed spinach. She had grilled shrimp with creamed corn brûlée. Fabulous if you have a sweet tooth. Overall, we had a great time enjoying a special midweek dinner eating out on the town. We would highly recommend Stoney River if you want good food and a special treat.

I had a pretty good experience at stoney river ! The restaurant was clean and welcoming. My server was very kind and attentive. I had a spectacular espresso martini and the cedar plank salon. The salmon was very fishy and not my favorite, probably wouldnt worder again. My creamed spinach and mashed potatoes was delicious! Overall a decent experience. Would definitely to back for date night.

    Bistro Chicken with baked potato
    Sue F.

Within the first few seconds of being seated, my arm stuck to the table. My side of the table had not been wiped of whatever the last patron spilled on it. My first impression did not bode well for the rest of my meal. We were greeted, our server introducing herself and completely ignoring the person who followed her around all evening (I'm assuming she was training). The named server went over what each menu contained and then recommended the egg rolls. We instead both ordered lobster bisque. The large bowl of bisque had a respectable amount of lobster but it had an odd aftertaste of "heat". Something that didn't have a specific flavor note nor anything melding it to the dish. It was just weird. I ordered the bistro chicken substituting a baked potato for the mashed. The chicken was served warm, not hot. This may be part of the reason for the panko breading being mushy. I scraped off what I could though I also lost the sauce. I gave my husband a large piece to try. He didn't eat but one bite. He said it was all mushy breading. My potato was hot but had been sitting too long as evidenced by the hard brown chunks of potato mixed with the rest. My husband had cedar plank salmon. The large piece of salmon was executed well - moist and flaky. It lacked in flavor - a lemon wedge probably would have gone a long way. He did have the mashed potatoes and was disappointed. Both of our meals were served with broccoli. We had to ask for bread - small, sweet rolls more dessert like than a bread accompaniment. While my husband had an old fashioned, I had a Sazerac. It was smooth though way too much absinthe in the last few sips - the bartender didn't take the time to properly swirl the absinthe. The serving sizes were large and we took plenty of food home, though I doubt neither the potatoes nor my chicken will be eaten. The unacknowledged server finally checked on us as we were finishing. I told her about the chicken. Our server with a name came by a few minutes later and offered to remake my meal, an offer I would have appreciated about 15 minutes earlier, not when I'm obviously finished (or obviously have given up). The restaurant was much less than half full yet was very loud - the music was so loud that the patrons had to speak up to be heard. Definitely took away from what could have been an intimate dinner. My husband and I always talk about my review after our meal. He said he was at 4.5 stars. Since I'm writing this review, I'm overriding his assessment and giving Stoney River a very generous 3 stars. I'm disappointed, I really expected a much better experience.

Went here for a birthday celebration (table for 4, not a party). We sat in the bar area and had a good time. The staff was personable and inviting. I had the French dip. Was it the best I've ever had, no, but it was good. My wife had the lobster roll, which she enjoyed. Would repeat if you're looking for a nice place for dinner.

Great service 3 out of 4 on food. The ribeye was slightly under seasoned but that may have been the blue cheese throwing me off. Clean and elegant ambiance.

The hubs ordered take out from Stoney River for me. He selected the dishes. I think he based it off what I've previously ordered at places along with his best friend's suggestions. I'm sure the experience would have been four+ stars had I dined in. The takeout was packaged well and travelled well for the few miles home. I had their deviled eggs. These were over stuffed. There's nothing wrong with that, and they tasted just fine, it was just overkill on the yolk mixture to egg white ratio. I had the crab cake and steak combo. The combo came with two to go ramekin containers that I had no clue what was in them. After checking the menu, they were roasted pineapple salsa and Dijon mustard sauce for the crab cake. In my opinion, these are odd sauces for a crab cake. The crab cake, like the deviled eggs was overly thick. One bite, and all I could taste was a wet breading sensation. Yuck. I thought of throwing the crabcake out, but I just couldn't bear the thought of wasting it. The next day, I divided the one crab cake into two thinner crab cakes and seared it myself, because, despite the menu description of "pan-seared," this crab cake was not pan seared to my liking. After pan searing it the following day, it tasted good, had a good amount of crab and I topped it with some lemon juice and ignored the salsa/sauce they provided. I still prefer the crab cakes at Char over this crab cake. I had the filet rare, which was seared well and very flavorful! It needed absolutely no seasoning added. However, I almost got out my kitchen scale because the portion was minuscule! It was two little pieces, period. Their menu says these were filet medallions. They are right about that, they were small. It came with a side of mushrooms, which I think were roasted "wild" mushrooms. They were good, although slightly salty. Hub's slice of cake was absolutely giant! It looked delicious, too. Had I dined in, I would have sent the crab cakes back for more sear, and asked for fresh lemon wedges in lieu of the salsa and sauce. Although I am not a big steakhouse fan, I would be willing to visit Stoney River in person.

Perfect Valentine's Day dinner spot! Super romantic and higher-end atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious, would definitely recommend the Steak Eggrolls as appetizer

Fantastic experience. Loved the bread with cinnamon butter. The service was first rate. Very polite, helpful, and attentive. The menu is pretty expansive, even at lunch. The food was amazing with fantastic flavor and texture. I highly recommend the steak egg rolls. The atmosphere is pleasant and upscale. You really should check them out.

Daddy/daughter week continued at Stoney River Steakhouse & Grill, and we were lucky enough to stumble in on Opening Night! We've been watching the build-out, eagerly anticipating their grand opening, and while I usually wait to leave reviews (to allow for growing pains), this place is the exception to the rule. From the moment we walked in, everything ran like a well-oiled machine. We were seated in under 5 minutes, and drinks were on the table within 30 seconds. While it's a little odd that water isn't automatically served, that's a minor detail. Our server was fantastic, and it's clear that the staff has been trained well--you'd never know it was opening night! Ambiance & Décor: Stoney River strikes an interesting balance between upscale sports bar, contemporary steakhouse, and a semi-formal dining experience. Whether you're dressed up for a special occasion or just grabbing a bite after work, you'll feel comfortable here. The bar seats around 40 and seems to be a focal point. In fact, I overheard the owner personally seating a few guests and introducing the bartender as "one of the best there is" and mentioning that he flew her in from Florida to get things started. That level of investment in service says a lot! Appetizer: Deviled Eggs - Phenomenal! A must-try. Bread Service: They serve a unique flat muffin-style bread that's both salty and sweet. Fresh, warm, and tasty. Caesar Salad: Perfectly balanced dressing--not too heavy, not too light, just enough to complement every bite. Lobster Bisque: Highly recommended! My daughter loved it. Entrées: Signature Steak & Biscuits: Delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly, and while the biscuits were tasty, they were plentiful--definitely a carb overload! Half of it went home for breakfast. Salmon: My daughter's dish was well-cooked and flavorful--she barely made it through half, so leftovers were a must. Bonus points: They box up your food for you at the table, a touch you typically see in higher-end restaurants. Drinks: Their drink glasses are on the smaller side (I'd estimate about 8 ounces after ice), but refills come quickly and consistently, so you never feel like you're waiting. Dessert: We ended the night with Crème Brûlée and French Press coffee--a perfect way to wrap up a fantastic meal. If you sit in a booth, bring a jacket. There's constant air blowing, and you might get chilly! Stoney River delivered an exceptional experience, especially for opening night. The service was A++, the food was well-executed and plentiful, and the ambiance strikes a great balance between casual and upscale. If you're debating between this spot and the steakhouse across the street, I'd say give Stoney River a shot--you won't be disappointed! 5 Stars! Can't wait to return.

Excellent service and atmosphere. Upscale steakhouse. Tasty and cool signature cocktails.. wedge salad was huge - splittable if not your main course. Liked our mains and will explore others on future visits. Easy to make a reservation on Resy . I did so 45 minutes after deciding to go there on a Sunday pm.

The service is amazing , but the food is so so . I got the swordfish and it was a little too greasy but the taste was ok . The braised cabbage was not all that but the sweet potato casserole was good . The drink menu is decent . Could it be a few dollars cheaper sure but all in all it makes a good date night .

The food was so good--you've never tasted food as good. Our server, Fallon, was excellent and anticipated our every need. Every employee here is gorgeous. The place is cute and decorated very nicely. The art decor is beautiful. The only complaint I asked to cook my salmon all the way through, and unfortunately, it was raw in the middle. I had to send it back to get it re-cooked. On a positive note our waitress Fallon should be a model, If she's not already and she was so professional. We enjoyed eating here.

Food was good. Atmosphere was to crowded. Not the servers fault. Server was just over stretched in tables she needed to cover.

Ask the Community - Stoney River

Is there an upcharge for Cliff farms?

I would say yes, because the clift farm development few applies to nearly all businesses and is generally 3% for most businesses, 2% for Costco, with Publix being exempt.

    Is a reservation required?

No, but it helps on busy nights or times.

Definitely not for comfort - there are a couple of rickety picnic tables in the parking lot right next to the busy traffic on 72 - it's loud and hard to carry on a conversation. But the food, oh the food, makes it all worthwhile. There is a pretty limited menu - tacos, burritos, quesadillas and torta. There is a list of fillings including barbacoa, chorizo, carnitas, shredded chicken and for the adventurous, langua (tongue). Every time I've visited, one or more of the meats have been unavailable but no worries, everything is as good as the next (well, I won't vouch for the tongue. Ick.) The torta is on a large, soft and super fresh roll. It includes a special sauce, mayo, lettuce, pickled onions, jalapeños and tomatoes. I'd recommend skipping the mayo - it just overpowers the goodness of the rest of the fillings. The tacos are small - street tacos so you'll probably need more than one to satisfy your hunger. You have your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The tacos come with onions and cilantro. Nothing to hide the wonderfully seasoned meat. The quesadilla was huge - a flour tortilla folded in half and FILLED with meat, cheese and their house sauce. Speaking of sauce, everything comes with a little cup of sauce - be glad that the cup is little - it is HOT. I've had both the barbacoa and the carnitas in various forms. Everything I have gotten has been amazing. The husband and I usually each get a taco and then a torta or quesadilla to share. This is more than enough to fill us up. We drove by this little trailer for years - I never really noticed it and I certainly didn't crave gas station food. Valentina's is pure delight that just happens to be next to a gas station.

Their pastor and lengua are phenomenal (asada is hit or miss) and the flour tortillas are soooo chewy and delicious. Their cheese sauce and salsa are mid. And the only reason why I took off a star is because their hours can be super unpredictable. Make sure to give them a call OR check their instagram page BEFORE driving over!
