Good coffee and nice little coffee shop. Cozy atmosphere. Also, a plus being inside the mall for a one stop place rain or shine.

This place has changed since I first reviewed it, so might as well write an update…read more I have not come here for alcohol, but they do seem to have a fair variety of wines for sale, as well as weekly wine tastings. I am glad they have different coffee drinks nowadays, including espresso tonics, which have become my favorite for summertime. The food menu is small, but covers the basics. The space is nice and open, and I am glad they removed the red tint from the windows, makes it feel more relaxing now.

The staff here are about as hospitable and welcoming as a middle school teacher holding after…read moreschool detention. Sorority sister and I came to Charlie Foster's to get a glass of vino after dinner at El Caz. The majority of wine cellars/wine shoppes/wine centric places are extremely friendly, not tethered to a chair, and very engaging because, it's wine after all, and most wine lovers love nothing more than talking about wines! Rather than look over a wine list, I just asked for a glass of pinot grigio. The young man gave me the saddest pour I have seen in my life, again, in the requisite plastic purple Solo cup, and guess what this regrettable purchase cost me? $12.00. For a little more than double that cost, at about $26.00 I can get an entire bottle of Italian pinot grigio at Nick's ristorante, which is 4 *full* glasses!!!! Originally, I wanted to see what kinds of wines they had for sale; however, after this very transactional and impersonal interaction, I was ready to leave. I would suggest that management/owners train their personnel on wines and have them attend actual wine tastings with a sommelier and learn a few talking points about the various types and vineyards they represent. Staff should mingle with patrons to see what the person is interested in (would they like a dry white wine bottle to drink inside, a purple cup "to go," or several bottles for an upcoming event) and encourage things both that the customer prefers or is just outside the customer's comfort zone and peaks the patron's interest. I would also suggest they select staff who actually have a personality.

The ingredients were fresh, the quality is top notch and each beverage was full of flavor. There are a lot of big name Coffee Shops that are running solely on Brand Recognition and people keep the seats warm in those establishments, but if you don't try this amazing Shoppe, you will be doing yourself a great disservice. I do have one cautionary advisory though........ everything on the menu should come with a Surgeon General's Warning Label that reads, " WARNING!!!! Consuming any one of these beverages will turn you into an Addict! You will crave these beverages at the most inconvenient time (like when this business is closed for the day, when you are away on a business trip or when you wake up in the middle of the night looking for a tasty treat). The Owners cannot be held responsible for your obsession, but they promise to provide immediate relief for your cravings. Disclaimer: Relief is provided during normal operating business hours only (unless you happen to personally know the Owners, to which you may be able to Sweet Talk them into making you a tasty beverage after hours by appointment only). I still like this place and have even gotten "real food" there…read more Pros: Staff are friendly! They nicely ground the bag of (overpriced) coffee I bought with zero complaints. The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. Depending on the timing, you may be able to get a seat. Or you may be fighting a soccer mom with 4 screaming toddlers just to pick up a to go order. Still a fan, but know what you're getting.

And they offer just enough Schmear as an extra and will toast it for you. It is a quaint place that offers a place to hang out for a while. The staff was cordial not overly friendly and seemed really focused on the tasks at hand. I would have liked to have had a better breakfast bagel sandwich selection as that is what I was looking for but most of the offerings were on toasted bread.
