It's in the Research Park area, not too far off from University Drive. It's tucked away a little bit, next to the new Viet Crispwich restaurant, but on the bright side there's plentiful parking. The vibes are pretty much immaculate here. Bright, cheerful, airy, but also private if you need -- there are several reclusive booths covered by archways, a perfect hidden away spot to work on a laptop or something. They have cute merchandise and even dedicated items and areas to keep little ones entertained. There's seating indoors and a couple of patio tables and chairs outside too. Service was pleasant enough. We didn't chat much but I was greeted and smiled at and my beverage was ready in a timely manner, so that's all you really need. The menu has coffee classics and then a few seasonal specials. There's matcha too, at least currently. There are supposed to be some baked goods for snackage, but when I visited at about 10:30 on Monday, they only had a few cookies and a brownie. I was hoping for something more in the realm of banana bread or a muffin, but they were wiped out. Maybe Monday is a restock day. They're only open til 2 PM, so definitely a morning/early afternoon hangout only. I got an iced salted caramel latte to go, and I enjoyed it well enough. To me, I really didn't taste any salted caramel, but it was a good iced latte: rich, smooth, almost buttery, and not too bitter. Not as sweet as I'd like but that's often the case with what I consider more "serious" coffee places like this one. If you enjoy coffee, I think you'll like this coffee. It was certainly strong coffee, cause my husband said it was basically emanating off me when I got home. lol. Give them a try and don't forget to take a cute picture with their gorgeous mural! This was today and maybe staff wasn't having a good day but service was extremely poor. The lady in front of us asked for something and they didn't have it which she seemed ok with but the staff seemed annoyed she even asked lol. We gave the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe the staff had been asked for the same item multiple times or something but when it was our turn they seemed so annoyed and like they couldn't be bothered at all. The inside of the place is beautiful though and the little booths seemed cozy. Maybe it was just one of those days and we got unlucky but I wouldn't make the trip again.

Nitro cold brew. Milk, no sweetener. Smooth as silk. Delicious. Third impression...coffee is gone, still waiting on my bagel, boredom is setting in. Fourth impression....still waiting. Eyelids getting heavy... Fifth impression. Lukewarm bagel finally arrives, definitely not as fresh as expected, something tastes like refrigerator, assuming it's the cream cheese. Final impression. A little disappointing. Get the coffee, skip the bagel, walk outside, let your eyes readjust to daylight. Hope you didn't get a parking ticket...

Seems like a trend lately to open coffee shops inside breweries, I guess to keep some income flowing during daylight hours. As a coffee drinker but not a beer drinker, I can't say I'm mad. If you enter through the standard STA entrance, you will see a counter to your left with a menu propped against it and a friendly barista awaiting you. For now, the menu is somewhat limited to coffeeshop classics like americanos and whatnot. However, they do have some flavorings like caramel and vanilla if you like sweet and froufrou coffee like I do. They also have some breakfast options, such as muffins and stuffed breakfast tater tots. The barista was super friendly and welcoming! The vibe was nice though of course more brewery than coffeeshop (to include hoppy smells). It was relatively quiet inside all things considered and the natural light would be a boon to anyone looking to work or study. I ordered a double chocolate muffin and an iced latte with caramel flavor. My order was made promptly. While I was waiting, I tried a sip of their hibiscus agua frescas that were in sample cups on the counter. It wasn't really for me but the color was pretty! The coffee was the highlight! Even though I'm more of a speciality drink girly (think carefully designed lattes with lots of flavor combos), my simple iced caramel latte was strong, smooth, and not overly sweet or bitter. I was afraid I wouldn't like it as I'm usually not huge on a latte + one basic flavor shot, but this was good! Right ratio of ice too. The muffin was not so hot. Quite literally. The edges were very warm but the middle was still quite cold. I'm guessing it took a trip in the microwave, which like, fine, but the uneven heating was not super pleasant. It also wound up drying the muffin up pretty severely. The muffin was enormous -- good portion for the price -- but I wound up pitching most of it because it was mostly cold, dry, and a little low on flavor. I don't want to end on a sour note because I would come back here. Definitely give their coffee a try! Maybe something more freshly made (I hear they're doing breakfast tacos from the STA kitchen now) would better suit your hunger needs. I enjoyed my visit overall!

The staff know their stuff and have spot-on recommendations. They are located inside the Straight to Ale at Campus 805, and they have plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere. I was excited to see that they offer a variety of gluten-free options for those that shun such, and since some of their staff are former Mason Dixon employees, they know their stuff related to celiac, cross-contamination risk, etc. Great people and great coffee!

Walk around the corner to find the bar where you can order your drink. Service was exceptional. I was greeted warmly by a younger man with dark hair. I took a while looking at the menu (indecisive) and he politely told me that they were recently under new ownership and if I didn't see what I wanted on the menu he'd be happy to try and accommodate me. I saw they had a peppermint mocha which I love in all seasons and I asked how minty it was. He said he'd gladly tone the mint down for me and so I agreed to order that. He made nice small talk and brought my drink out to where I was sitting to wait. It was a simple interaction, but he made me feel very welcome and at ease and I really appreciate it! I checked out their social media later and saw a picture of him that had just been posted announcing the new ownership -- I wonder if he's one of the new owners? Either way, he was excellent. My drink was also pretty solid. I was missing a *tiny* bit of mocha flavor but the coffee itself was smooth and creamy and the peppermint had been toned down to an ideal level for me. I ordered an oatmilk cappuccino with no added syrup, and it was fantastic! It was ready quickly as well. The menu is the best coffee shop menu that I've seen. It makes it very clear what is in each drink so you can easily pick the best option. The atmosphere is really relaxing as well. Everything is spread out with several different seating areas, comfortable furniture, and dim lighting. I could easily see myself cozying up with a good book or getting some work done.
