I stopped by with a colleague on a recent business trip and missed the part of the sign above the…read morerestaurant where it shows the word "brick" so I had to drive around the block a 2nd time to even locate the place. It was fairly full on a Tuesday for lunch so we had to sit by the front door. The menu is fairly simple and includes specialty sandwiches, salads and soups, a couple desserts and not much else. For as large as this space is, you would think they would serve more food items. Maybe their kitchen is just very small, not sure. The server indicated many of their sandwiches are steamed. I tried one of their sandwiches, the casa grande without olives, with a side (potato salad) and a homemade banana pudding. Sandwich - this is a pretty good sandwich that is moist due to the steaming and a lot of mustard and mayo. They also forgot to take off the olives though. Potato salad - their version is like a German potato salad with some skin showing and plenty of mustard as the base. The problem was it was too chunky with a chunk of potato the size of my fist. This is just too big to bite. Banana pudding - pretty good but very sweet My colleague's sandwich was decent too, but he also had a problem with some soggy bread. The service was decent as both our soft drinks were refilled promptly. Mondays amd Tuesdays are semi slow and they close at 3; however, other days are much busier with live music mostly on Fridays and occasional Saturdays.

Service was excellent, and the person taking our order was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the…read morefood was very disappointing -- worse than McDonald's. The French fries, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and fried cheese all tasted the same, almost like onion rings: greasy and lacking distinct flavor. The pepper jack sandwich looked thrown together, with both slices of cheese stacked on the same side. It seems like the food is all being cooked in the same fryer, causing everything to have the same taste. The milkshake was good, but the hot fudge sundae barely had any hot fudge -- just a small drizzle throughout the entire dessert. Also, be aware that there are extra charges added to many items, even for things like BBQ sauce. This was my first time ordering here, and unfortunately, I would not recommend it or return. Restaurant was clean and well lighted.

Hubs ordered the Goodfella Pizza, with a couple of deletions, and loved it. I chose the Elana Ruz sandwich and it was glorious! Not exaggerating, that sandwich was such a delicious combination of flavors. We were able to find seats inside while we waited, and then hubs found a table outside right before our food was ready. The weather was delightful so we enjoyed sitting outside. We loved the overall vibe, although inside was a little loud. Their decor everywhere was so much fun! We also appreciated the drink refills as we headed out. As we left, we saw tons of parking in an adjacent lot, which I've noted for future visits. Mountain Goat Market is now definitely a must-do on our next trip to The Caverns.

These are top level sandwiches. The meat is always terrific. I never used to get turkey, but here I usually switch it up each time I go. This is one of about five places in Decatur that are must try's if you want to get something unique. The sandwiches come with a spicy honey mustard. I love it. They don't show it but you can actually buy a pint of it. Every year I also will buy a ham from them. It is always the best ham of the year. People are always kind there and Micah is one of the best owners I have ever met! This place does a huge amount of cater orders, because most people in Decatur love this place. Banana pudding is always good. I have never tried the candy apple though. If you are visiting Decatur for a couple of days, get a lunch from here you will be thankful.

Quick Take: BOGO Tuesday, free apple pie with the Ham Panini with Raspberry Jelly..yes please!…read moreFriendly service, food tasted good, decent prices...would come back. The meat tasted good as always. The Ham Panini with Raspberry Jelly was tasty. I have two gripes with it. One, the jelly made that half of the sandwich very soggy. I ate it in the restaurant so it wasn't like I took it home. Two, the ham slices are not too thick, but thick enough where it is hard to bite through at their size without pulling the meat out with the soggy bite. The apple pie was also tasty, but don't heat in your microwave at home as it is in a foil tin. We sat at a high top and all the chairs there were rocking and bent. Be careful. Also, guys, come on...don't pee all over the toilet. Guys have to be better. I don't blame the restaurant but the bathroom could have been cleaner.

Quick take: food was pretty good, decent prices, great drink, will come back!…read moreCame in around 5pm on Friday 2/27 and only one person at the bar. Nice lady told us to seat ourselves where we want, GM initially waited on us. He was friendly. Wife said he made the margarita and it was great! A little stronger than my wife likes, just under what I like. After a couple sips she loved it! He recommended fried catfish and the ribeye as favorites. We tried both. Ribeye: cooked nicely, not seasoned enough for my taste. I would order and try this again, $26, with two sides. Steak was tender and was a nice cut of ribeye. Salad was solid. Mashed potatoes ok. Could have used a piece of toast I think. Next time a different side from mashed taters. Catfish: GREAT! Light, fluffy, fried perfectly. Hush puppies were good, a little thick though. Fried okra was also great! Cole slaw could be hit or miss for folks.. i thought it was good, wife didn't like. Should have come out in mashed potato sized bowl to eat easier. Some dislikes: 1. Steak not seasoned well. But I'd try it again. 2. Some things missing off of our plates initially (tartar sauce, mashed potatoes.) No big deal but if it was busier I think we may not have seen them for a while. 3. Person bringing single bowl of mashed potatoes holding with one hand, palm down over potatoes. Pretty sure it looked like hand touched top of potatoes. 4. Not sure if this is a smoking establishment but a guy at the bar lit a cigar. But he must've been asked to take it outside because he put it out. Glad he did because we had a baby. Not sure why he thought he could smoke it in there if he hadn't before. Overall, good visit and I look forward to trying more things and eating that catfish again.

First visit and it will not be the last!…read more After looking at reviews and photos I knew I was ordering the salmon with cabbage and rice. Salmon was seasoned perfectly, had a nice crispy char on the outside while the fish was moist and tender. Only thing that could have made it better was another piece! The cabbage was soft and flavorful, but not overly seasoned, nice comfort cooking style. The rice was perfectly cooked, had hints of I believe saffron and maybe liquid smoke(?) whatever it was the rice really stood out my only complaint would be there wasn't enough. My wife had the grilled shrimp with sauce and she was very happy, they were cleaned, cooked well, and she really enjoyed the sauce. She had the same two sides and also said a bit more rice would have been nice. For desert we had their deep fried cheese cake, it's almost like a cannoli and cheesecake had a baby that was deep fried. The dough was softer than cannoli but the apple drizzle paired very well with the dessert. We plan to return, but it will be hard to order anything other than that salmon! Great location across, right across the street from Princess Theater.
