    Danish and chai

What a cute little find! We ordered seasonal drinks-caramel apple chai, pumpkin butternut latte-delicious! I'm a chai snob and this was amazing. I literally got the spice and then the caramel apple-perfection. The cream cheese danish was warmed which is always a treat. The decor is cute, there are toys and crayons/paper for children to color, vintage clothing for sale and even a patio outside. There's a little tap for water which is so important at a coffee shop. The owner was working alongside her employees which I love to see. Worth the drive, check it out!

Experience? Great. Location? Perfect. Atmosphere? Fun and cozy. Coffee? ...not my favorite Everything about this place had charm--the décor, the vibe, even the longer wait (which I didn't mind because it's so quaint). My go-to is always an iced vanilla latte with oat milk , and I know oat milk brands can totally change the flavor. But this latte was not the one for me... Funny enough, a friend once told me their hot chocolate tasted like grass. I laughed it off (he's not a coffee drinker), but... he wasn't too wrong I'd 100% come back for the atmosphere, décor, and stickers--but next time, I'll skip the coffee and try something else.

Avacado toast, muffin, chicken salad plate. Cortado, spring seasonal coffee, chai latte.

Everything was amazing! The vibes inside are just what Decatur needs. The food and drinks are tasty.

My new favorite coffee shop in Decatur! I've been waiting for a local shop like this with high quality beans, and unique drinks. The first drink I tried was just a regular cappuccino, the espresso was great with deep flavor. I can't wait for them to move into a permanent location and see them grow.

I got an Almond danish which was delicious, loved the merch, restaurant recs we got from the barista, and they had a rack of clothes for sale!

Sweet Home Sodas - Rocket City Cola -- before they rebranded to Sweet Home Sodas

Hurray for my first introduction to "dirty" sodas!…read more Sweet Home Sodas is a new business providing pop-up dirty sodas and energy drinks around Huntsville. They were initially branded as Rocket City Fizz, but I think they encountered some type of trouble with that name and quickly rebranded to Sweet Home Sodas. Same people, same recipes. As I said, they've been popping up at community events like store openings, parties, school events, and so on. I imagine they could cater almost any event you'd like. Their speciality is "dirty" sodas, which are sodas with extra flavorings added -- usually in the form of syrups, but sometimes including slices of fruit, a splash of cream, foams, or candies. They have a premade menu of specialties though I'm sure they'd be accommodating if you wanted to make your own creation. I think a lot of their creations sound like the flavors would go perfectly together so I was content to let them do the creating for me. Pretty much any drink you can get with a full calorie soda or its diet equivalent to be a little more calorie conscious. I found them posted up at the opening of the new LaGree fitness studio in Jones Valley. It's uncommon to get food trucks or pop up businesses in this part of Huntsville imo, so I ran over when I saw they'd be there. They were set up right outside the entrance and were easy to find with their adorable shirts and decorations. I was greeted by, I presume, the two owners, who were wonderfully pleasant and were genuinely gracious and helpful, inquiring about how I'd learned of them and offering to help me choose a drink based on my preferences before thanking me for giving them a try. Wonderful service! I'd not had a dirty soda before but I went with what sounded best to me, a Rocket City Cola. I went all in and had it with a regular Coke. It has vanilla, coconut, cream, and best of all, lime! It was refreshing and not as sweet as I was afraid it might be. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely a sweet treat, but I could taste the layers of each flavor and it wasn't just cloying sugar. The coconut didn't taste artificial either. I definitely get the appeal of the dirty soda trend now! I'm a sucker for Alani energy drinks and so I'll have to try one of those specialties someday too. I look forward to trying this business again in the future!
