Stopped in for a pick-me-up for the short drive back to Huntsville earlier this week. Work takes me to Decatur from time to time and I'll definitely be back! This is a cute little coffee shop / gift shop type of place in downtown Decatur. Being that it's downtown, parking is a little bit of a hassle. I didn't have a hard time finding a spot midday on a Wednesday, but be careful backing out as you're backing right into the street. Inside, the shop is spacious and decorated nicely. It felt airy and peaceful and I could easily see myself catching up with a friend or reading or something. They have a midsize coffee menu, serve Piper and Leaf tea, and have some typical coffeeshop snacks (pastries, etc). One nice feature is a fridge with take and bake type meals and appetizers. That can prove really useful in a pinch! Service was extra nice here: welcoming smiles, patient with questions, and working efficiently. I appreciated that you can actually order a small iced coffee here. Many places only do iced in medium or large portion sizes. The small was just enough to perk me up for the ride home, but not so much I'd have to stop for a restroom, lol. I ordered an iced peppermint mocha as that's pretty much my favorite coffee drink of all time. This one was a good one! Not too strong on the peppermint and a discernible - maybe even stronger than average - chocolatey taste. Like a liquid thin mint! :) I enjoyed my drink on my drive home and look forward to returning for more next time I find myself in the area. read more

I came here a while back when I was in town for work, absolutely loved the place. It has since changed hands. The difference is very noticeable and not good. Last time they had some nice pastries to choose from, and the coffee was great. Today I just stopped in for a bite cause I'd already had my coffee, and ordered a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The man that made it took quite a while, and he burned the bagel so I had to go back and ask for another one. The former small town artsy feel is gone, along with the friendly service. The woman behind the counter was a lot friendlier, but the fact that my bagel came with a tiny cup of cream cheese, and no knife to spread it with (I took it to go, it's possible they have silverware if you dine in) just put me off. And the bagel tastes like a Lenders bagel or some other store bought brand that they charged way too much for. I'm sorry this place changed hands, it goes down in my book as a "used to be good" coffee shop. I will give them points for cleanliness though. read more

This is absolutely the coziest place in Decatur to grab a drink & spend some time. All of the staff are so nice. I don't like coffee (I know, I know), but I thoroughly enjoy High Point. They make the BEST London Fog. The waffles are delicious. There's plenty of space & tables with outlets for working, as well as comfortable seating to relax. Lots of local pieces for sale & they really seem to lean into the community. Absolutely love High Point. read more

First time here. Super nice, pleasant guy behind counter taking and making orders. Wife got a peppermint mocha and liked it. A little too pepperminty for her liking but it was good. What a quaint spot to grab a coffee while on a work trip heading back to Nashville. It's clean, has quick bite foods to nosh while studying or need a quick lunch and the rustic vibes of the place give you a modern feel to the quaint downtown strip. If I ever need to come down for work, I'll definitely be making this my stop for a coffee and a snack. Came by earlier this week for a meeting and it was perfect! The creme brûlée specialty coffee was sooooo delicious. I got their decaf coffee and it was beautiful. Smooth and perfectly creamy. The space is very cute and very well spaced out so I felt comfortable. They have a lot of tea options as well! They even have an option where you buy a piper & leaf jar for a 32oz tea so you can take it home for a souvenir! I would recommend this place for locals or to take out of town guests. Ambiance and staff were 5/5 as well which made the entire experience very nice. read more

This coffee shop/ market is adorable! There are cool things to shop around for all over the place (a great place to find interesting gifts) as well as comfortable couches and chairs to relax on while you have your coffee, eat your bagel, or enjoy an acai bowl loaded with fruit! Not to mention you can buy a full meal for a family from the freezer! I love to come here and work on schoolwork during the week, but also love to come in with my husband on Saturday mornings to get a coffee before we do a little shopping in the downtown area. read more

High Point Market is a really great place to get coffee and extra goodies. They have things that you'd find in your grandmothers pantry like pickled green beans, pepper jelly, canned sauces and veggies, and killer coffee. All of their products are local, and their coffee helps farmers in Honduras be sustainable and self sufficient. The staff is also very nice and they are extremely talented baristas!
