Perfect coffee/tonic/syrup ratio. Adorable interior, perfect for a quiet convo or a book read, two things I saw happening when I dropped in. Super friendly baristas too. Excellent!!

It's a very good texture too! Overall, location is in an area where there's not much parking. Food is decent but expect a high price , one Lox bagel is over $13. It's a good place for a quick bite, a quiet read, or just a hangout. Total vibe

They were super quiet in the mid-afternoon when I stopped by. The establishment was clean and although I don't know if I'd say it had a particularly established "vibe," it was a nice space. I was greeted quickly by a friendly employee. Their large menu is posted on the wall and they had a lot of selections. In addition to coffee, they have smoothies, lemonade, and energy drink refreshers, as well as some small bites like cake pops and bagels. The employee was quick to offer assistance and gave recommendations based on the things I said I liked. I wound up ordering a "Dude Brew" latte, which is a white mocha with peanut butter and caramel flavors. I really like peanut butter mochas and don't see them at shops that often, so I was excited to try this one. It was prepared for me quickly and the drink was quite pretty when it came out. It was also, I thought, quite generous in size in relation to the price. Overall, I liked the drink. It had a discernible and enjoyable peanut butter flavor and the white mocha didn't taste artificial (definitely something I've struggled with at other shops I've tried lately). Personally, I didn't detect any caramel flavor and I thought it was a little heavy on the milk, but I definitely liked the drink and would probably order it again. There are lots of items to try here and I had a positive experience. Thanks, Local Grind!

Buzzed by here to get a drink before heading out of Athens. I really liked this place!…read more I think the location might've previously been a bit more on the square, but I could be wrong...as it is, it's still easy walking distance from the square but tucked away a little bit. There's a private parking lot it shares with a few other businesses, though I had already parked on the street before coming by. Signage is a little discreet but they have some flags advertising acai bowls. The inside is beautiful and nicely decorated -- modern, clean, has a bigger city vibe to it honestly. Walk around the corner to find the bar where you can order your drink. Service was exceptional. I was greeted warmly by a younger man with dark hair. I took a while looking at the menu (indecisive) and he politely told me that they were recently under new ownership and if I didn't see what I wanted on the menu he'd be happy to try and accommodate me. I saw they had a peppermint mocha which I love in all seasons and I asked how minty it was. He said he'd gladly tone the mint down for me and so I agreed to order that. He made nice small talk and brought my drink out to where I was sitting to wait. It was a simple interaction, but he made me feel very welcome and at ease and I really appreciate it! I checked out their social media later and saw a picture of him that had just been posted announcing the new ownership -- I wonder if he's one of the new owners? Either way, he was excellent. My drink was also pretty solid. I was missing a *tiny* bit of mocha flavor but the coffee itself was smooth and creamy and the peppermint had been toned down to an ideal level for me. Overall, very well done! I don't live in Athens but this place will be high on my list to return to when I'm in the area next.

The Falkville downtown is very small and quaint but cute. There's street parking right in front of the shop and I nabbed a spot. I walked into a really adorable environment - it felt super homey and several people were at work on laptops or chatting. They also had a few selections of local crafts and gifts, which I enjoyed checking out. They have small bites and cafe type breakfast and lunch items (eg paninis, breakfast sandwiches, cookies, muffins, etc) and an extensive hot and iced drink menu. They did have some Valentine's Day styled seasonal specialty lattes advertised, but I didn't really like the sound/flavor combinations of any of them. Instead, I was able to build my own latte with flavor add-ins, which is nice. I ordered an iced latte with dark chocolate and maybe cinnamon? It's been a while since my visit but I seem to recall cinnamon. The service was adequate; my drink was ready in a timely fashion and the barista checked to see if I wanted an alternative milk. However, I didn't get the most friendly vibe and when I asked about the specialty drinks (e.g., which one is your favorite?) the answer was pretty flat and noncommittal. Idk, just a slightly weird vibe. Nothing crazy unpleasant, I just didn't feel very welcome, I guess. No biggie, I wanted to start the drive home anyway. I enjoyed my drink. It was nicely balanced and I could definitely taste the dark chocolate. And, unless I'm hallucinating this memory/flavor add-in, the cinnamon gave it a nice kick. It was a pleasant pick-me-up on the ride home. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping by for a tasty drink and some fun decor/gift shopping.
