Shelves were lined with things your grandma would go nuts over. Jams and jellies, bags of grits, all sorts of things for the cook who knows how to cook with real ingredients. Also a solid selection of prepared/ready to eat items including some pies that looked pretty amazing. Additionally there's a sandwich counter where you can build your own or order one from their menu. All the sandwiches are made to order on their house-made bread and the prices are super low. If I lived near this place that sandwich counter would quickly become a go-to lunch spot. The people were friendly and the place is clean. I just purchased some glazed donuts and some donut holes. These things are addictive so don't buy more than what your stomach can handle. The donut holes just melted in your mouth on contact. Very cute little bakery inside. Nice places to sit, cute old timey knickknacks and baking relics -- my mom got a huge kick out of the old KitchenAid mixers. Even though it was later in the afternoon, they had a decent selection of desserts. A friendly employee greeted us immediately and was helpful with checkout and bagging. I chose a smaller orange roll based on the recommendation of lots of reviewers, as well as something a bit more unique to me: a sweet potato and pecan muffin. Somewhat unusual combination that sounded super good! I split my treats with husband later that evening. The orange roll was solid -- the soft and yeasty roll was the best part -- though for me the orange glaze was a little too sweet. That's how I usually feel about orange rolls though so if you really love them you'll probably like this one! The muffin remained remarkably moist and the pecans were so nice and toasty on top. It was very subtly sweet and had lots of nice spices. Would love to try more muffins from here! Thanks for the yummy treats! Definitely hope to return someday to try the pie bars, strata, and more.
