Quick Take: BOGO Tuesday, free apple pie with the Ham Panini with Raspberry Jelly..yes please! Friendly service, food tasted good, decent prices...would come back. The meat tasted good as always. The Ham Panini with Raspberry Jelly was tasty. I have two gripes with it. One, the jelly made that half of the sandwich very soggy. I ate it in the restaurant so it wasn't like I took it home. Two, the ham slices are not too thick, but thick enough where it is hard to bite through at their size without pulling the meat out with the soggy bite. The apple pie was also tasty, but don't heat in your microwave at home as it is in a foil tin. We sat at a high top and all the chairs there were rocking and bent. Be careful. Also, guys, come on...don't pee all over the toilet. Guys have to be better. I don't blame the restaurant but the bathroom could have been cleaner. read more

I have been going to Apple Lane for over four years and just realized I had never posted a review. This place is great. While usually a sandwich is a sandwich in my mind. These are top level sandwiches. The meat is always terrific. I never used to get turkey, but here I usually switch it up each time I go. This is one of about five places in Decatur that are must try's if you want to get something unique. The sandwiches come with a spicy honey mustard. I love it. They don't show it but you can actually buy a pint of it. Every year I also will buy a ham from them. It is always the best ham of the year. People are always kind there and Micah is one of the best owners I have ever met! This place does a huge amount of cater orders, because most people in Decatur love this place. Banana pudding is always good. I have never tried the candy apple though. If you are visiting Decatur for a couple of days, get a lunch from here you will be thankful. read more

This is the place to go for holiday hams and turkeys. They are so juicy and taste wonderful. All of the sandwiches are made the same ham and turkey. They are delicious! The sandwich rolls, Kaiser rolls I think, are so fresh. I ordered the super stuffed club, and it was so stuffed I literally couldn't take a full bite. It was packed with turkey, ham, and bacon. You can't go wrong here. If your traveling on I-65 it's right off the Decatur/Huntsville exit. Perfect location to grab and go. They also offer catering. read more

I came here to pick up some lunch for my friend and I. She always loved the ham sandwich and I had my heart set on trying the club because of radio commercials that I had heard. We also each wanted a side of the pineapple salad. They've added many other things to the menu including smaller versions (called classic) of their famous 'overstuffed' sandwiches for those with smaller appetites. They also have paninis and other styles of sandwiches available which sound tempting. Be sure you CLEARLY specify to the cashier which type you want because they assume that you are ordering the overstuffed. I asked for a Classic Ham and Classic Club Combo and apparently that wasn't specifying it clearly enough because the boy still wrote down overstuffed and I didn't realize it until I saw that I was charged for the overstuffed (and he didn't hear the combo part either because I didn't get charged for one and he didn't give me a drink). When I asked about the sandwich size the girl making the sandwich arrogantly told me I had to specify which one I wanted. I told her that I HAD said CLASSIC and it was ok that he didn't hear me clearly but I just wanted to make sure she was making an overstuffed sandwich if that is what I was charged for. Thankfully her attitude didn't ruin my lunch because the food was still good. I don't think the pineapple salad is freshly made because I heard her turn around and ask the girl if they had gotten anymore in. It was still pretty good and very sweet. The meat is flavorful and thick cut. The ham is a little sweet. The bun is soft and fresh. The honey mustard dressing they drizzle on the sandwich is delightful! It is a little pricey but I think it's worth it for an occasional treat of a good fresh sandwich. read more

I had just washed my car next door and I yelped for a good Lunch Restaurant nearby . The reviews looked amazing so I drove right over to try it out . My initial impression was the decor is gorgeous art/ deco/ country apple farm . Some lovely high tables and lower country kitchen style wooden tables . I was greeted with a gentleman from the back in the kitchen and his staff and upon realizing that I am a first time visitor he quickly reviewed the lovely menu of Sandwiches . I opted for the hot Turkey/ Cranberry Panini. This has to be the best Turkey/ Cranberry Panini with delicious cheese I have ever tasted. Their unsweet was perfect to drink with this tasty lunch . This is definitely a 5 star review and the service was super fast . The bathroom was clean and specious which is always a plus! When I started working here in Madison my coworker who is from the area recommended I try this little sandwich shop. I've eaten here at least once a week since. Fresh made kaiser rolls and fresh smoked meats, the honey mustard sauce they use and fresh vegetables make it a sandwich few others can touch. Small rest stop, hole in the wall, log cabin looking building. Inside is about the same. Apple Lane makes great sandwiches and they will fill you up. This visit was a slight disappointment because the amount of meat that was on the sandwich. I commented to an employee how their Madison location made larger sandwiches and he said they looked fine to him. But then brought us a few more slices of ham to put on our sandwiches. Went here today for lunch. Food was really good. I had the overstuffed ham sandwich. Customer service was good and inviting. Parking was ok but for a full-size truck during lunch it was a bit cramped. Unfortunately I have to say two things I wasn't happy about. First, I got to sit and eat my lunch at a table where a dead fly was sticking to the dirty window. Second, pricing seemed a little high. It was $12 and change for a overstuffed sandwich with chips and drink. Either way I'll be back. read more

Today was the last time I waste my time ir spend my money at Apple Lane Decatur. I used the new online ordering deal and was provided a very nice professional looking receive. I went to pick up the order and they had no record of the order and couldn't find it even with the order number from my receipt. They said they would get started and asked what i ordered. After 3 times telling dude what i needed i had enough. This is the 3rd time this has happened. Previously i used the phone ordering process. These were pretty big orders each time and today it was for a safety lunch for 8 guys. I called Jimmy Johns and placed the order as i drive there. They called before i could get there to say it was ready. So long Apple Heads. Work on you shitty health department score and customer service. What was it again? A 78%!!! read more
