My coworkers and I went here for lunch because one of them loved the ham here and said it was better then Honeybaked Ham Co. I ordered their large hame sandwich (the Overstuffed Sandwich), a stuffed ham sandwich and the loaded ham potato. Food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. I tried a Honeybaked Ham sandwich a few days later and the Apple Lane better was better by a mile. The overstuffed sandwich was incredibly thick and meaty. While its a little pricey for the sandwich combo (closer to food trucks prices), I was full when I got done and it tasted excellent. My buddy who recommended the place was a big fan of the loaded potato and it seems like a much cheaper meal if you're on a budget. With regard to purchasing a ham for the holidays, the price for their ham was $1-6 cheaper per pound than the Honeybaked Ham Company. Ham tasted comparable. The inside isn't super fancy, more a hole in the wall feeling but staff was polite and no issue with service. When I reported their fountain was out of Coke Zero they promptly changed it. read more

Be sure to visit or place an order about an hour or two before they close. They start shutting down early. Made me feel bad for placing an order an hour before they closed. Had to get my sandwiches without being toasted because the grill was already clean. Didn't have bacon or couldn't toast paninis. Cashier on 10/3 could benefit from people skills coaching. read more

Box lunches were on today's menu at the office and the overstuffed sandwich I enjoyed was chicken salad with cranberry, pecan and delicious tomato and fresh green leaf lettuce on a potato roll I think. There is a lot of thick sliced ham and turkey but only 1 slice of cheese so ask for extra cheese if you want to taste it The staff is young and pleasant enough but it seems the inmates are running the asylum. Dance music doesn't go with a up scale sandwich shop. Also as a newby I wasn't assisted through my order. No direct answers to my questions but the girl could have been new. They put condiments on both sides if the roll which makes the sandwich slide apart with every bite. Overall it's good but small details cost them some stars in this review. I do expect a little bit more for $12 bucks for a sandwich when there's another sandwich joint 5 stores away in the same strip mall. read more

This location cancelled a GrubHub order placed in the middle of the afternoon. At the time I assumed their comment on being out of potatoes was an honest (though poorly managed) supply chain issue. Now I go to the store and find that they say they are out when they don't want to make anymore. Employee says k could have called ahead, but having to call ahead for a standard menu item at a quick service place is ludicrous. Not to mention they have also turned off all signs of being opened well ahead of closing time. All together I think this location doesn't care much for serving their customers. read more

Emailed back and forth with the store to confirm a ham to be picked up on a Saturday. Confirmed that a Saturday pick up before 2:00 pm was good with the store. I got a chicken salad sandwich for lunch and let me tell ya'... It was the worst chicken salad I've EVER had. I'd call it a cranberry salad. Because that's what it was. A ton of cranberries and little to no chicken. The entire thing was just disgustingly sweet. I couldn't taste anything but the cranberries, and I LIKE cranberries. I'd even go as far as to say I don't mind it in chicken salad but it was SOOOOO overwhelming. This was my first visit to this location, as I've been going to the Decatur location since I was a kid. I've had pretty much everything on the menu, but the club sammie is always my go to. My club here was half of the size as the one's I get in Decatur, but still the same delicious taste. Ingredients are always super fresh and I would say good luck getting a sammie of this quality for $7 anywhere else in the area. I will say that all of the women working there seemed like they didn't want to be there and were pretty much dragging around with doleful facial expressions. I understand that it was a slow time when I went in, but take a second and smile. Another reason why I've done so much business with the Decatur location is because of the great customer service I receive. I will continue to eat at ALF, but I will probably skip past this location from now on. read more

I've eaten the sandwiches here for lunch several times and have always been pleased. They call their sandwiches "over-stuffed" and boy are they. I like the ham sandwiches the best. Be sure to get their customer loyalty card. Get it punched every time you buy a sandwich and get one free after so many punches. Went there on a Saturday about an hour and a half before closing. Wanted to get a baked potato and a sandwich. Turns out they throw the baked potatoes away the two hours before they close or at least that's what we were told. So we got sandwiches. They should have thrown the bread away 2 hours before they closed it was stale and I wouldn't have served it. I've only eaten sandwiches from Apple Lane whenever my work provides them for. These sandwiches are one of a kind. Whether you get turkey or ham, they load your sandwich up. If you get a box lunch, that includes a sandwich, chips, pickle and banana pudding. While the mustard sauce they give you is good, I wish they would give regular mustard as well because the sauce they give you is kind of spicy. But their banana pudding is to die for. Most expensive but best chocolate/caramel covered apples you'll ever have. Excellent sandwiches, we had ham/pineapple panini and overstuffed turkey club. Both were excellent. Service is slower than typical sandwich shops but worth the extra 2-3 minute wait. read more

I ordered two TURKEY stuffed potatoes to take home for dinner. I got HAM. Both my husband and I are on high blood pressure medication, so we had fancy potatoes, no meat, for dinner. I called the manager the next day, she offered two free TURKEY stuffed potatoes. I thank her, pick up my potatoes and take them home for dinner. Guess what? HAM. AGAIN. I even looked at one in the restaurant to make sure. It was just the white meat of ham, not the dark. I should have tasted it before leaving; but I trusted that the MANAGER would have personally seen to getting it right for the second time. NOPE. Unless, of course - they have honey-glazed turkey. They don't. I checked. They have hickory smoked turkey. This meat was glazed - heavily. Free doesn't matter if it isn't what I ordered. I can afford to pay for dinner. I have little patience with restaurants who screw people over. If you're out of turkey - tell me! If you're employees don't know the difference between ham and turkey - train them! Or, risk losing customers. My husband and I could just dump the meat off and have veggie potatoes (not what we paid for; but nonetheless an option); if you have food allergies, however, I would steer clear of this place.
