Terrible service. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and it took forever to come out. We were the second table in the section and every other table that got there after us, got their food first. Finally a manager came over and gave us the missing sandwich and mumbled "sorry" and then just walked away. Didn't even offer a reason or to comp the sandwich for taking so long. We also ordered a cinnamon roll as an appetizer that also took a while to come out and when we got it, it was hard and not warm. They probably forgot about it too and just let it sit before serving it to us. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. read more

My wife and I ate here for lunch today for the first time. Nice ambiance and fun decor. Good service. We were really enjoying our food UNTIL...we started noticing the serving staff eating while working. In the side kitchen hallway, which is VERY visible to half of the restaurant, there were numerous servers stopping by having a FEEDING FRENZY off many plates of food, often the same plates, food dropping around and on the ground, eating with their hands, and all while continuing to wait tables and bringing food out to customers. There has to be some kind of food code violation of some sorts here. You wouldn't even see something like this at a Taco Bell Or McDonalds, much less a marketed higher end restaurant. read more

Had dinner here last night , was my first time here. My wife had some really good fried green tomatoes and we both had their deviled eggs which were delicious !!! I had a great chicken sandwich , which was a very large portion for a sandwich. The waitress suggested a cocktail for my wife and she really enjoyed it. We shared apple crumble with vanilla ice cream for dessert and it was delicious , not to mention the giant serving we received ! I've been to the Las Colinas location three times and have been sick following. I'm not the only one in our parties to end up sick.

From the moment you walk into this place, you can smell the sweet smell of their signature whiskey cake, which smells the same as their candles. The place is super cute, cozy and inviting. Perfect for meeting with friends or family. Their brunch menu offers a Do IT Yourself Bloody Marry bar for $9 dlls. Which I think is fair. We came here for lunch on a Saturday, they still had the brunch menu available, but we decided to get lunch. I decided on a Pork Brisket dish, which sounded amazing and was plated beautifully. But the meat was a little over cooked, so I was not impressed. What saved the date was their signature whisky cake! The cake is rich and buttery, it taste like chocolate and heaven! I can't wait to go back to have this cake again. Although I was not impressed with the food, everyone else in my party was pretty pleased with their choices and that cake is totally worth another visit! So I will be back soon! read more

Worst service ever! We waited over an hour and a half to be seated. We tried goat cheese fondue which was probably the only thing I liked from everything else I tried. Ordered the farmers breakfast bacon was DISGUSTING. Potatoes weren't all that. Biscuit was dry and nasty. We got the French toast and disgusting not worth 12$ at all. It comes with 3 small buns. And I can say IHOP or Denny's has better French toast! Even better I can make my own at home . But I will never come back here again. Another highly overrated restaurant, imo. My friends rotisserie chicken club sandwich had barely a Schmeer of chicken. I'd say it was the amount of half a slice of Kraft cheese singles. My $13 OMG burger came with a few of their house kettle chips. If you want french fries you have to pay an extra three dollars for that. My friend ordered the side of their french fries which didn't arrive until after we finished eating, and only because we had to remind the server we never got the french fries. I didn't love it. We went there today for lunch but thankfully we had made reservations, as they were packed. The service was attentive, however the staff is obviously just getting their bearings. I ordered the chicken and cheese melt sandwich, and was disappointed to learn that you are not allowed to substitute the kettle chips for a different side. For someone who doesn't like kettle chips- or any kind of chip honestly- this was a huge letdown. Furthermore, the food runner spilled my brussels sprouts and bacon side all over me and my booth seat, while trying to save my sandwich from falling clean off the cutting board that they served it on (real food plates have ridges that keep this from happening, yo). And all of this happened for a $17 sandwich- since I had to buy the side I wanted separately, just for it to be dumped all over me. Elements of the sandwich were tasty. You could immediately taste the fresh basil in the pesto, and the sourdough bread was "almost" soft enough to remind me of home (San Francisco). In all, I just don't feel that the price point matches the area we're in or the clumsy service that I received. Add to this that you're forced to pay $13 for a sandwich that can only include kettle chips, the food menu itself is tiny and only takes up half of the actual menu, and they're too hipster to serve you on actual plateware, and I just don't think I'll be returning. Clearly I'm not the kind of customer this place is trying to attract. read more

Ok I loved the old location in Plano but really love this location. So much so that I came back another night during my trip. Whiskey Cake and goat cheese fondue! Bartenders are very skilled. If I made a reservation, I expect to be seated in my seat when I come. However, I was stopped at the door saying someone was sitting on my table and that I'd have to wait indefinitely. They went on to tell me that I had to wait outside as well because if I'm not going to order food, I couldn't even wait inside seated. I waited a good half an hour before I was seated outside, but at a different table than what was reserved. Did I mention the server telling me this was giving me attitude? Ugh, rude. Honestly at that point, we should've just turned around and left but my sister in law really wanted to try here. Our new waitress definitely made our frustration better, as she was attentive and friendly. At first she asked who our server was because even after we were seated, apparently no waiter was assigned. Idk how that works but I was too angry to question at this point. But at the end of the day, our new waitress was kind, and I hate to leave a bad comment when it hasn't anything to do with her. The whiskey flight was fun, good quality whiskey. Pink drink was juice so if you like sweet drinks, that's a good one. Foods were just okay, except the ribeye was definitely really salty. As usual the food was great! But service was terrible! We have been here about 6 times; only twice have we gotten good service. Today despite the short wait, people that came after us got seated first! We didn't get a table until I asked the hostess what was going on. Then it took time to get our drink order... then like 10 minutes more for the waitress to come and take our order. If I had not had my drink I would have just left. The food finally came and we had no silverware. We had to remind the waitress about my missing biscuits. When I needed salt no server was around, I ended up getting up and going to the Bloody Mary bar to get some myself. Then again had to wait forever for the server to come so we could ask for the check. I would have rated lower but the food got them an extra star. It is very disappointing. read more

took my nyc sis and mom there for lunch. the service was great first of all! mike was a great, friendly, know his product along with restaurant history and attentive server but i don't go to restaurants for service but the food. service to me is irrelevant if you have good food. got the pork brisket, mom and sis shared the short rib. brisket was crunchy pork skin with juicy meat on the inside. mom and sis didn't give me a bite of their short rib so i assume it was good hence they didn't want to share it. the Farm Salad was also delicious. simple with only a few ingredients not making it super complex. dressing was refreshing and tasty. also the tomato herbal soup was thick, creamy and had a kick to it but not overpowering. then at the end we were arm twisted into getting the whiskey cake with homemade whip cream. uhhhhhh.......heaveeeeenly. holy smokes! i recommend sitting on the outside patio if it's available and or not too hot tho they have fans anyways. all in all, what a great first time experience at whiskey cake. thank you guys. read more

This place is incredible!!! We have been here a few times and have not been disappointed with the food or the service. It is all incredible. The Guava Gimlet is my favorite drink. Soooo good! Not too sweet. The chicken and waffles are delicious. The chicken is so tender and full of flavor and they are unlike any other chicken and waffles I have ever had. The chicken sandwich and Texas Redfish are also incredible. In fact I have not had anything that I did not absolutely love! The onion dip- delish!!! Great dining experience and good food. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I love the ROTISSERIE CHICKEN & KALE salad minus the pickled mustard seed which I ordered on the side. Can't go wrong with the fried green tomatoes and remoulade sauce. Turkey burger and creamy tomato soup is also tasty. The soup is seasoned well but can be a little salty. Four stars only because I have a slight negative about the dessert. The pumpkin cheesecake had a cranberry chutney that just took it over. Couldn't taste the pumpkin anymore and it made me sad However, for our meal we split salad and the ribeye. Just the plain ol' house salad is wonderful, and the caulilini was delicious, chargrilled and smoky. But the crowning jewel was the juicy tender perfectly medium rare ribeye. Not even a steak house. Went here twice in the same week- First visit was five stars, second was three, so overall a four. The veggie sides are delicious! Brussels sprouts and grits- Awesome. Short ribs the first visit were fantastic. Second visit, I ordered a medium burger- It came out like a burnt, crunchy brick of carbon. Sent it back but wasn't given the option to go without it (I was getting full from the Apps and beer at that point). So I had to wait. The replacement was great. Would have been nice to have thrown in a dessert or something for having bit into a really bad piece of meat, but wasn't offered anything for that or the wait for a replacement- Lame. Love the one in Plano. It's this places first week so gotta give it some time I guess. Food is great and so is the cake. However the service was terrible. Waited 15 minutes to be seated after having a reservation. Than waited 20 minutes at our table before someone who wasn't our waitress to give us water. 30 minutes before we saw our waiter. The evening continued the same way. Hopefully it will get better with time, first weekend open is difficult I'm sure. Hopefully I can update with more stars after another visit. Update!! Went out for date night and decided to give Whiskey Cake a try. We made reservations online and was seated right away. Only criticism on the restaurant set up is the metal chairs. While I personally love the rustic decor, the chairs are not made for larger framed people. My husband was not able to sit back in the chair and luckily we were able to move to a corner table where we both sat on the bench seating. Our server was Stu, who was very helpful and fun. My husband had the Braised Short Ribs and I had the Half Farm Bird. Both were wonderful! I would note that the veggie that comes with the dish is modest, so if you're famished, would recommend adding a side or starter. We opted no side and went for dessert- the Whiskey Cake of course! We ordered coffee and was excited when Stu came out with French Press (It could've steeped a little longer...but good nonetheless). What was fun was they have miscellaneous coffee mugs and we chuckled over the cup Stu brought my history (see pic). The dessert was fab-u-lous! Not super sweet and the whipped cream...shoo....that could be dessert by itself! There is a little spicy finish as there is a smidge of cayenne in the nuts on top of the cake.
