Please don't kill me if that's not her name) The drinks, the food, the ambiance, and the service are always top notch. I'm a big fan of the BBQ Ribs, the brussells sprouts, and the mac and cheese! Everything is amazing! The whiskey selection here lives up to the name appropriately. If you're a "brown" fan, you'll love it here! The old fashioned menu is very good and the Little Rye Lies is my favorite! It's really, really good. I came here once with a friend for brunch, and as it was also very good. The brunch menu has a lot of great choices. One of these days, I'll save enough room to try the whiskey cake, which I have no doubt will be the bomb. You can't go wrong with this place. read more

Let me start by saying this place used to be amazing. It was my go to spot for date night with the wife, birthdays, impressing guests from out of town, happy hour after work, you name it. Over the last 6-months this place has really gone down hill. They have changed their menu replacing well designed entrees and sides (hello edamame succotash) with flavorless alternatives. The whiskey cake that is their name sake feels like it's mass produced now. And the quality control of the food that does come out of the kitchen is lacking. I would have relayed this all to the manager (especially because the 24oz ribeye me and my wife shared was so undercooked it was blue and we had to take it home to finish cooking) but he avoided our table our entire visit despite us spending over $300 for a table of two adults and a 3 year old. For the price point of this restaurant, it does not meet standards anymore. The only thing I am thankful for is that I can cross this off the long list of excellent restaurants in this area that I am always trying to pick between. read more

This place was awesome. Such a cool bar that's the center focus of the entire restaurant. The whiskey list is truly amazing and I couldn't stop looking at the floor to ceiling wall of bottles. The staff was friendly but not overly chatty because they were so busy the whole time. I really enjoyed the flight because I have never been somewhere to sample different options. After that I picked one of their multiple old fashioneds and it was delicious. I started with the fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs and they were both great. The deviled eggs were unique but full of flavor. The ribeye was huge and I loved the sautéed mushrooms on the dish. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. We were placed at a dangerously wobbly table--one leg was missing its leveling foot, making it rock back and forth. We moved to protect our children. Then, a young couple comes in. The hostess seats them at the SAME broken deathtrap. They wisely move to a safe table. And that's when the mask came off. The hostess didn't ask. She didn't explain. She MARCHED over and FORCEFULLY GRABBED the menu right out of the young man's hand to physically herd them back to the broken table. It was a disgusting display of power. This is the same bullying, "you'll do what we say" mentality we see from the elites every day. They think you're cattle. Don't let their fake apologies gaslight you. This was policy. They knew the table was broken and chose to use it. They then chose to intimidate customers who refused it. This is a perfect microcosm of the whole rotten system: broken services, contempt for you, and brute force when you dare to think for yourself. Share this review. The Menu and pricing are definitely higher-in, than the exterior appearance suggested to us. On the front of the building it says Fish, but they only have salmon. They have shrimp (grilled, not fried) & grits for $26, everything is on the expensive side. It is Not, in a good way, of what I was expecting. They were very busy, so apparently some folks like what the have to offer. Atmosphere is upscale, in a downscale sort of away. Not sure if that makes sense, I guess you'd have to see it, to understand what I mean. Very clean, and very well-maintained. Menu comes out on a legal size sheet of paper. Not impressed with the menu choices or the pricing. Quality was very good, but not a good value for the price. Server was okay for a "Cotton Patch" experience, but not for a place with these prices! (What little bit we got of) the Shrimp & grits was excellent... it looked more like an appetizer (included a picture if you're interested). I'm not a fan of grits, so you can guess how I felt about that! In my opinion, Only a Fine Dining restaurant should expect customers to pay $26 for what we got, as a main menu item. We absolutely, will not be coming back. Nor would we recommend it to any of our friends. It is located in Valley Ranch, and it's possible the folks in this area may be OK with what they have to offer and at these prices. As for the food, I absolutely loved the Chile BBQ Glazed Duck Wings. They weren't too hot for having Chile in their name, and the meat was literally falling off the bone. A+ wings for sure. I ended up going to this location for a friends birthday brunch one Saturday. I have been to the Plano location multiple times and love it. I like the feel of the place and recalled them having great food. I was a little late to show up but got to try an array of different things that were all quite good taste wise. Their Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits $8.00 come with country gravy and were very tasty, you can actually tell there is jalapeno in them unlike some places. It went well with their gravy. Their Colossal Cinnamon Roll $10.00 was also quite good, it was decadent and very rich but had great flavor. I especially liked the spiced pecans mixed with the sauces. A bunch of the girls did splits on their entrees so I had half of the Chicken & Cheese Melt $17.50 and half of the Rooster Royale $15.50. Both were quite good in their own ways. The melt had such great crisp crunch from the sourdough bread that you could hear it when you bite into it, without it being too hard texture wise. The only down part was that it did not quite hold all of the meat and toppings so it would often spill out the side of back when eating, kind of messy but delicious! The Rooster Royale was also pretty tasty, good crunchy breading and you could really taste the hot honey on it. Since it was a birthday celebration we got a Whiskey Cake to share. This was also delicious, the cake was warm and soft while the sauces and whipped cream complimented it well, it is super rich so I only had like 2 bites. If they would match this with a good vanilla bean ice cream, this might be perfection. Now, the service is where this lost me. I never got the servers name but he was super slow on doing drink refills and randomly would go MIA for extended periods of time. If they were busy I might understand this but there was only like a handful of tables in the whole place and I know he wasn't the only server for the whole place. We did have a large party but our food came out as it was ready and not together which I thought was weird. This server also really needs to work on pre-bussing, anytime you are at the table and there are empty plates then you should take what you can to try and clear space/not have dirty dishes sitting on the tables. He did "apologize" for the food delay by blaming it on the kitchen staff, not a great team mentality. They really need to work on their service here. I would not go back, especially since the Plano location is much more consistent and better overall. read more

The food and service was good, but in a group of 12 people when we politely told the staff a screw was in the salad, the GM came out but made a joke saying "well you finished the salad, must have still been good"... pretty awkward. We first tried the one in The Woodlands and fell in love. This location was just as good! We started with the candied bacon because a friend recommended it. If you don't like the fat on bacon, then you might not like this. It is very thick cut bacon chunks. They are very tasty though, and the sauce on the side was delicious! It was a brunch day, so I tried the Brunch Hash. I didn't care for the pickled red onions, but the rest was like a spicy marriage of flavors in my mouth. I did try some bites with the sauce from the candied bacon, and boy was that yummy! My hubby loves the chicken and waffles, and my son got the kids burger. All of the sauces are homemade and amazing! I was so full, so I ordered the Whiskey Cake to go. Luckily my guys were not interested, so it was enough to give me 2 days of delight in my mouth! read more

The food was really great. I was put on the wait list when I arrived and they estimated 20 minutes and it took about 25 minutes. Because we were in a rush we let our server know and she was able to get our orders in fast and our checks to us before we were done eating. It is a very busy restaurant and good size too. My friends spoke highly about Whikey Cake in Houston, so we decided to go to this location for dinner. We sat in 15 minutes, and that was awesome considering there were a lot of people. They have patio, side rooms, main dining, and bar seating. Our server was very nice and attentive. Food: Smoked Chopped Chicken Salad Lemon Grass Shrimp Salad Wood Fired Salmon The chopped salad was ice berg Lettuce and the chicken had no flavor. The dressing was good. My friend said her shrimp salad was ok. When they served the salmon, it smelt funny that I have a funny look. I didn't try it because of that. My friend ate the dish and the next morning, she was throwing up. That's when I told her I could smell the funky smell. It was not fresh. Overall, I'd return to have brunch instead of dinner. I ordered the Bone-In-Chop, which came with a medley of vegetables, which was the perfect pairing. It was a sweet corn-edamame succotash, shaved apple, pea tendrils, apple cider-mustard seed glaze! My friends both ordered the Rotisserie Farm Bird. The meat fell off the bone, the skin had the right crispiness, and the meat was seasoned very well. As for dessert, we shared the Whiskey Cake; now, this wasn't intentional. But after we were supposed to take one bite, we kept going. Also, I wished I knew the girl that attented our table. I was taken here by a company courting me for employment and since I am local they asked that I chose a restaurant close to DFW airport and the hotel they we're staying. Whiskey Cake showed up as the place to go. The two guest I was with ordered the salmon and said it was okay, I ordered the OG OMG burger and came away very disappointed. The burger had was too much arugula on it and was also dry and I ordered it medium rare. The fries also came up short. I don't think I will be making that drive again. read more
