Great local place downtown! I love that they don't take reservations so you can just walk in and wait your turn like everyone else. The place is neat cause it used to be a bar until their burgers got so tasty they decided to specialize in that. There's a limited amount of tables but our waiter got us seated pretty fast. I've been here multiple times and unfortunately for me their burgers don't hit the spot. I find them good but not exceptional. I've tried the hawaiian burger with a huge pineapple slice in it as well as other flavors but I personally find their burgers kind of dry. What i do love however are their waffle fries! They go super well with the maple sauce or if you get the sweet potato fries be sure to pair it with the coconut cream sauce! read more

Got there about 2:30pm for lunch and was placed on the waitlist (about 45min) didn't have a problem with waiting but I did look sideways at the male host who seemed to take his job a little too serious. There are no seats out front for patrons to sit and wait and even when I asked to sit on their bench outside he rudely said no. I then looked at a menu that was taped to his stand and it was if I was bothering him just by looking at the menu...anyways once inside the waitress came to our table right away took our order. I've been going to this place for 3 years and it's still probably my favorite restaurant in Augusta. This place is an American-Japanese fusion and is always packed with long wait times to get a table, for a good reason, Amazing food and atmosphere. The one dish I always get to go, that has me coming every once in a while is the "Katsu curry Rice". It's a pork cutlet with moderately spicy Japanese curry and rice. Honestly the quality of this dish is better than equivalents I've had around Atlanta with the katsu always being crisp and tender, and the curry being the best tasting curry I've had anywhere. This visit started out as a plan to visit a different eatery, but this different eatery was closed for the entire week of Thanksgiving. This left my lady, her mom, I, and a 10-year-old French bulldog searching for a welcoming spot for all of us. What we found was Whiskey Bar (Kitchen)... And it was a GREAT find! Go inside to let a server know you're sitting outside so they know to come out to you. All the employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. Their menu was really unique, featuring a variety of culinary styles from American to Asian to Mexican and more. Plus they have a great beer selection on tap and in bottles and cans. My lady and I started out with a couple beers (Wild Leap Chance IPA and Wild Leap Venanza lime gose) while we perused the menu. So much of it looked REALLY good so it took a bit for us to decide. After a while, and another round of brews (Monday Night Drafty Kilt Scotch ale and Creature Comforts Tropicalia IPA), we settled on our lunch choices. My lady got a WB(K) burger topped with smoked ghost pepper cheese and a side of waffle fries. Her mom got a lava shrimp taco. I got the TCB burger (creamy peanut butter, honey, bananas, applewood and smoked bacon on a croissant bun) with sweet potato fries. This was legit one of the best and most unique burgers I've ever had. Everything just went together perfectly! The sweet potato fries were excellent too. We truly enjoyed every bite of everything! So I definitely thought this place was going to be a lot better than it was. A Asian fusion twist of the food, was interesting but not that potent. My burger was really sloppy and hard to eat, and I only got a chicken burger. The chicken was too big for the bun, the cheese was like triple the chicken and a bit gross. We got buffalo chicken dip and it was barely room temperature. However I will say that it tasted good and had potential. I usually like to go with server recommendations on beers, and it hasn't failed me yet... until here. The grapefruit hefeweizen is terrible. It's like a Smirnoff Ice. There was also a chocolate porter she recommended that tasted more like a brown ale, minus the flavor. It's downtown, so there is street parking everywhere, or you can park on the street behind the building. Price: reasonable. Would I come here again? The sink burger was great and my husband enjoyed his Buffalo bleu. Sink has so much on it, you're really not missing anything. The Buffalo bleu had a really tasty ranch on it. Their sweet potato fries are some of my favorites. Maple chili sauce was a good choice for the fries, I like the sweet and spicy mix with this type of fry. Weekend nights are super busy. We joined the waitlist before we left home and waited about 40 minutes after arriving as well. I suggest joining the waitlist just to have a spot in line if you go during a busy time.
