This was the perfect stop during my day trip in Richmond. The interior is such an awesome vibe. Located in the corner, the interior boasts whites, blacks and wood. Their coffees, lattes and other drinks really are perfect! They are perfectly made and hit the spot. I devoured a sandwich whole there and enjoyed a latte. The bread was fresh, lettuce was crisp and the tomato was ripe. They also have a nice selection of hot tea. There is seating available or you can take your treats to go. Don't pass up Whisk!

Finding a truly good, buttery croissant is difficult these days, but Whisk has succeeded! Their freshly baked, crunchy, and buttery croissants make it a must-visit breakfast stop for whenever I'm in Richmond area.

A solid choice for some takeout coffee and sweets - the homemade syrups are a nice personalized spin on everything, and the Cinnabun-flavored one made for a great addition to their drip coffee :) we ordered a ham/cheese and a chocolate croissant - sweet and savory for the win! Wish they warmed them - and that there were some more dairy-free options for my partner, but was still pretty delicious! Quick service too - wish there was some more indoor space for seating but overall no significant complaints!

Parisian sandwich

Cute little coffee shop and bakery with friendly associates and mediocre sandwiches. I decided to stop in for lunch on a rainy Saturday. There were quite a few people sitting on their computers when I walked in. I opted for a Parisian sandwich: ham and cheese on a baguette with mustard butter. To say the sandwich was underwhelming would be an understatement. The ham and cheese were tasty, but the mustard butter was slathered on the bread and was definitely more butter than mustard. Perhaps most disappointing was the bread, that was soggy and actually stale on the edge where it had been cut, not crunchy like real baguettes should be. I had high hopes that I had found a good French bakery, but I'll keep looking.

I didn't love the pumpkin spice cupcake I got. I tried to interact with the cashier to help find a coffee to use their batch maple syrup in, but he wasn't helpful instead a bit short. I walked away with a drip coffee which was robust, albeit average. My friend got a funfetti cookie sandwich which was super sweet. I wasn't sure if this was the normal proprietor, but he seemed off. For a specialty coffee spot and this more premium prices, I expected more.

Macarons! Big and amazing. These were some of the best macarons I've ever had. Also got the peanut butter truffles that were delish!

I wish I had visited this place earlier during my vacation. It has the best croissants and coffee in downtown Richmond. The croissants are freshly baked in the facility, and I especially enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant. I also indulged in a Caramel iced latte, which was surprisingly strong (which aligned with my preference), and a triple chocolate brownie, which was so fudgy and delightful. My husband got an Iced matcha latte, which he thought was very light, with the right amount of sweetness. Whisk is charming, well managed, and though small with only 2 baristas at the time, we managed to beat the morning rush before 8 a.m., and get to our destination on time. 10/10 recommend!

Quaint Coffee Shop In The Midst of Downtown RVA The staff was pleasant and accommodated all of my changes with available alternatives. I enjoyed the cappuccino with almond milk instead of dairy milk- Gave it a smooth creamy flavor- 10/10. Tried the Richmonder sandwich without bacon aioli instead with mustard butter. The sandwich was ok and the mustard butter was delicious- 6/10. Seating was available along with WiFi. Convenient neighborhood coffee shop if you are in the Shockoe Bottom area, perfect walking distance. Only street parking. Recommend trying the milk alternatives which are almond and oat milk.

Confetti cookie

Fun little coffee shop!! I came too late in the day for most pastries, but really enjoyed my colorful confetti cookie. The blueberry matcha I had was also creative and delicious. The sandwiches were just okay, not too filled with toppings. But when you're coming to a place like this, that's not the main attraction anyway. I am excited to go back and try a few more coffees, and hopefully the pastries too!

Cute French bakery on Main Street near tobacco row in Richmond. My friend recommended this for a quick breakfast. The staff was super friendly, and the barista made my iced chai before I could even take photos for the review. So fast!!! I got the chocolate croissant which was light, flaky and so good! More butter flavor than chocolate and that is ok! The latte was pretty good too, a little sweet but honestly perfect with the croissant.

Delicious pastries - and their flavored syrups are just the right amount of sweetness. I only wish there were more macarons when I got there - a reminder to get there early!

Ham, egg, and cheese croissant was absolutely delicious!

Sundays mornings before church we always like to try new coffee shops we haven't been to yet. So this morning, we decided to give Whisk a try. F O O D + S E R V I C E While we ordered, the barista (pictured) was extremely rude to us. I asked for a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich and she went to check if they had any bacon in stock. When coming back to register, she didn't let us know if she had any left and proceeded to ask again, what sandwich I wanted. So of course I repeated myself. And she gave me an irritated look and then said "No, we're out of bacon so it's either egg and cheese or ham, egg, and cheese." I will say, the ham, egg, and cheese croissants we had were pretty good! C O F F E E The coffee on the other hand.. I had the Mistletoe Latte and my boyfriend had a black coffee. Both tasted like the beans they roasted were burnt... C L E A N L I N E S S As for cleanliness... the place was a mess.. the trash can was overflowing onto the floor, the tables were filthy, the floors were filthy, the entire place had an inch of dust, and the sugar station was almost completely out of everything.. Sorry Whisk, but we won't be back...

What dessert options there are dairy and soy free?

They do not have dairy and soy free options as they stick to traditional french baking traditions, ie lots of butter.

There is good signage. It's now a take out only establishment since Covid. Two table are available for outdoor seating. Most customers took their orders and walked away. I visited them on a Sunday afternoon just after St. John's let out. It's just one block away and the church Patrick Henry gave a speech. There were a lot of church goers enjoying the business. Proper has a menu in the window to guide customers on choices of savory, or sweet. I wanted one of each. The man at the window was great in providing recommendations. I ordered the steak and cheese as well as the Banoffee. The preparation is already done and the man with assistant moved quickly to complete my order. I enjoyed my treats at their outdoor table and also enjoyed conversation with locals. I started with the steak & cheese which was loaded with meat and cheese. DELICIOUS! Then onto the Banoffee which smelled heavenly of cocoa. Another home run! I love bananas and if you do too this will be enjoyable. So glad I found them open on my visit. There hours are very good, but I have missed them in the Summer before on vacation. Just go, no brainer.
