The food was AMAZING... the service not so much. We saw many tables come and go while waiting to order. The table right next to us had three separate groups all have full meals and drinks before we even got our entrees. Felt bad because the other servers kept coming over to check on us, and one even eventually took our order because our original server had seemingly forgotten us. Then, at the end, when giving us our bill, our original server told us the wait was because the kitchen was short staffed and running behind... uhh, did we not literally just watch everyone else get their food in a timely manner? I had the bbq Gouda bacon burger which is ample is size with a zesty bbq sauce. The Gouda cheese is a flavorful choice that comes standard but having the choice of cheddar would have been better. The staff is friendly but when they are busy be prepared to be ignored. Fortunately we sat by the kitchen and was able to stand by the door until someone noticed me for drink refills. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual and inviting. Overall I am impressed with the food and when there was a sighting of a server they were very polite. Love a burger after visiting Zion? Best part of this place was the cheerful lady who could not possibly be paid enough to do her job, serving guests on outside patio while managing a huge take-out crowd. When we placed the order she said "it will be 45 minutes." She was right, it was ready in 43. We enjoyed the meal however the BBQ pork was a bit dry, what little BBQ sauce was on it was not very spicy (that's just me, I am a spicy kind of guy). We loved the goat cheese Chile rellenos but that was it. The waitress was short and unpleasant. The rice and beans seemed cold and reheated. The high chair they brought us had wet red paint so my daughters boots were ruined! We had to ask for a box for our left over fries twice and to add insult to injury everyone in our family that had the black beans in their meal from this restaurant end up with violent diarrhea and cramping. We came here after a day of hiking at Zion like most people. We ordered the grilled prawn tacos and fish tacos. We also got guac with the chips and salsa, which were all delicious! Both tacos were good, but I have to say my friend's fish taco was better than my prawn taco. Only the fish taco came with the much hyped grape salsa. Nevertheless, we were very satisfied with our meals and also the great service. I didn't expect this quality of food out of a converted gas station in Springdale. Height of the tourist season - people everywhere. We walked down to Whiptail at 7:30 and were seated right away. Inside there was plenty of seating as well but we chose to sit outside. Our waiter was attentive and we enjoyed the Spaghetti Squash enchiladas and the Chicken Enchiladas. Warning - the salad green that come with dinner is huge. The food was very good. We ordered the Flan to share and we are from Texas so we have had our share...this was huge and more dense, cake like. We could not eat it all so be sure to share with 4 people. Zion is a popular destination for nature lovers. Cool thing about this park is its location and proximity to the town where you not only find variety in terms of the different cuisine available, but also excellent quality of food. This particular restaurant is a crown jewel amongst the rest.We went for lunch and sat outside and enjoyed the majestic Zion mountains. Everything we ate here was delicious,made to perfection and was presented beautifully. The smallness of the restaurant may fool you but the efficient friendly service will make u wish this restaurant was in your neighborhood. A special mention has to be made of their gaucamole with pomegranates and their homemade chips. The squash enchilada is highly recommended for good reason, we also got the chicken enchilada and were in perfect balance with respect to flavors. They serve a nice refreshing salad made of a red pepper dressing which complimented the dishes well. Visited Springdale during LDW, so it's going to be busy, tried to call 7 times for a pick up/ take out order without any luck (busy tone), NBD it's a holiday weekend after all....we decided to drive over to place the order and didn't mind having to wait we just didn't want to sit down at a restaurant. We arrive and ask the hostess to place a to go order to which she says she "normally doesn't do when there's a wait" (what does that even mean? We don't mind waiting and aren't going to take up a table, take my money) even though there's a sign advertising take out (???) but she takes our order, (albeit reluctantly lol) and doesn't fail to let my fiancé know, again, she doesn't normally do to go orders when she has a wait....food arrived fast which was nice but we got back to our hotel to realize our chips/salsa/guac we paid for was not included in our order and phones didn't work to call to receive a refund.... The food was decent, there's not many options in Springdale so I imagine it was better than some alternatives. Mahi tacos and chicken enchiladas, nothing to write home about. Good portion for the price and liked the grape slaw with the tacos (reason for the 3 stars along with quick service even if incomplete and kinda rude) Couldn't eat at the restaurant because their patio isn't dog friendly and we didn't want to with the pandemic. To be honest, it looks a little bit like a fast food shithole in a converted gas station, but only the second half of that statement is true. But let's be honest, the only thing that matters here is the food. It was simply fantastic. Per other reviews, I had the goat cheese & pepperjack cheese stuffed chili relleno (available only when the chilis are in season, which is another bonus). The chili was HUGE, bigger than the plate, and I got some grilled shrimp around the plate as well. Simply delicious, delicately fried, perfect breading, just wow. Thank you Yelp for not failing us! We came here for dinner, and it was delicious. I'm not even saying this because we had worked up an appetite after hiking. It truly was! I went with the spaghetti squash enchiladas because it's an interesting dish that appeals to me, which isn't offered at any other place I've been. Good thing I ordered it! I loved it, and even more because it had goat cheese. It wasn't overwhelmingly cheesy like some places that serve enchiladas. This dish was everything! My friends had the chile relleno which was also amazing! It was stuffed with goat cheese! I had a bite and it was super good! She added beef and shrimp, which was sufficient amount of food for dinner. My other friend had the stuffed avocado with shrimp and beef as well. We all killed our plates! I'd definitely eat here again. Next time I would like to try the Bbq ribs that's marinated in a pineapple sauce. They also have wine and beer on their drink menu. This restaurant is housed in a converted gas station. Full of charm and ambiance. Indoor seating is very limited. Starters - Goat Cheese Chili Rellano, this was OMG good! The flavors complement each other beautifully. If I wasn't in a public establishment, I would have licked the plate :) Entree - Fire asado beef tacos with fire sauce was on FIRE! The fire sauce is super spicy and very delicious. I did feel that the marinated beef was a bit too salty. I had to add more salad and beans to the taco to balance out the saltiness. Spaghetti squash enchilada were perfect. The cheese and sauces were a perfect balance of flavor. I added some fire sauce (siracha chili sauce) to give it some more kick.
