My favorite restaurant in Syracuse. Each time I go I try something new. The changing menu is refreshing and never disappointing. The service is great and you always feel at home there.

I'm so happy we came in 6 ish and were able to meet and speak to mark the owner who owns this establishment with his wife had we met the night bartender Joe I would have given this place one star mark the owner of explained to me that the back of the house he lets someone cook for him at no cost to rent it out, so he can make out with the drink money. He and his wife on it and they're trying to make something up but they also take credit cards with some places don't. The place screams neighborhood bar and parking is available it's also kept clean . The chef kept checking in us the beef pot stickers were delicious and I was happy to hear he said he wasn't serving the sea bass bc he didn't like the quality; I ordered the rib eye in the bone I asked for rare bloody I got medium at best to be fare I didn't complain and it was good just not cooked or seasoned to my liking. Joe the bartender was nice enough to me but pretty rude to a few of the customers some our acquaintances someone asked what vodkas you gave he said what's on the bar ; he seemed annoyed by the question. Parrots actually asked if he was annoyed or alright he snapped at him and he said he was busy and only had two hands . I was happy to finish my dinner and go I'd hate to see a full bar; rude is an understatement . I gave the stars for the nice owner and the chef because his ribs were delicious. I'd go back but not without a friend the crowd was a tad too interesting for my tastes .

After taking some neighborhood streets, we arrived at the location and parked in their small lot. There was room for perhaps for 6-7 cars. Each space was labeled for whether it was for the restaurant or not. Entering, we were greeted and seated. We had about 1 hour and 14 minutes before boarding, so the staff were very accommodating and pointed out what could be made quickly (basically everything except their tandoori). They also answered questions about gluten. We ended up getting aloo tikki chaat and a lamb shank masala. They provided chickpea flour crisps with mint-cilantro and tamarind chutney. They also brought us their complimentary chai tea, which was very nice and satisfying. Their chaat was well-balanced, gluten-free (the crispies are made with chickpea flour), and it had pomengranate, chickpeas, and potatoes. The pile was dressed with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney. Their lamb shank masala came bone-in with the curry sauce surrounding it. The lamb was well cooked, and mostly moist and tender, though there were parts that were dry. Both dishes were well-adorned, which was a nice touch. Best of all, however, was how exemplary all the staff were at the restaurant. They exuded a wonderful calmness and hospitality. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Syracuse.

I've never eaten here in person but have ordered delivery and take out multiple times and feel that the portion sizes are well worth the cost. My recommendations absolutely include the Saffron Special Biriyani which was incredibly flavorful and had SO MUCH different proteins in it and the Lamb Shank Masala. I'm used to many places only giving the lamp shank and nothing else but Raj Saffron House gives lamb shank with multiple pieces of lamb as well. It was incredibly delicious and tender. The chicken saag and the lamb karahi are also tasty! Best Indian food in cuse!

The staff were so welcoming & friendly. Very important note here- they are located upstairs in the building they are in. You'll see an entrance on the street but you have to go upstairs to get to the restaurant. Very beautiful view from the windows. We got two meals that we shared & an absolutely spectacular starter. My biggest appreciation was the fantastic flavors. Every bite I took (even of the rice) was seasoned & popped with flavor. The plates came with fresh lemon that was the perfect addition to squeeze over our meals. We had fresh herby sauces that also came with the meals that I couldn't get enough of. Fantastic meal & we will be going back. I'll also make sure to actually write down what we ordered!

Sat by the window looking down the street, studied the menu. It was a bit confusing, I asked the most popular food, stc. He picked a dish of braised lamb chop with raisin rice. Ok. Was very tasty! Surprisingly good. Lamb was hiding inside of the mountain of rice. The owner lady told me, Afghanistan food is similar to Indian food. The difference is the ginger part. indian uses ginger, the other don't. Indian food is spicy, the other is not. Friendly service.

Phenomenal food!…read more We're in Syracuse for a conference, and didn't want to spend a fortune for mediocre food at the conference hotel, so we set out to find a good local spot via Yelp. Su Su Dim Sum came up at the top of the list, so off we went. I ordered a small (pint) of hot and sour soup and lamb with scallions. My wife ordered tangerine beef, and then we ordered red bean paste steamed buns to go for breakfast tomorrow. The soup was thick, full of chunks of tofu, plenty of vegetables, a little less peppery and a little less pungent than we like, but still better than typical Chinese restaurant fare. A bowlful of fried noodles came on the side. A great start! My wife, a veterinarian, suspected that the lamb was actually beef, but that question aside, the lamb dish was delicious, with plenty of meat, chunks of bell pepper, and abundant scallions, in a delicious sauce. The star of the night was the tangerine beef, lightly breaded and perfectly fried, in a savory and slightly sour sauce. A few broccoli florets, a handful of tangerine segments, and a wonderful thick sauce completed the dish perfectly. We packed up the leftovers, collected the steamed buns, and headed back to the hotel. We grabbed some menus to give to fellow conference attendees when they ask where we went out to dinner.

We love dim sum so we looked up the local places that served it & found Su Su. The space is simple & I believe it may have once been a diner at one point in time. The staff tried their best as there were a fair amount of to-go orders & walk-ins. (As I said it was Valentine's Day) We decided to order a few different things. Each one was excellent. The flavors & temperature of each item were fantastic. I really enjoyed the pineapple fried rice. We'll certainly be going back to try a few more things!
