Special burger with apples and Mac salad
    Joanne R.

My nephew recommended this restaurant and I was in the area with my friends and we stopped in. The inside is like a sports bar with several tv's, long bar and open seating area. We were greeted promptly by the bartender and she gave us our menus. She was very friendly and smiling (which is so rare lately). She made us feel at home and I asked her for suggestions. She mentioned the burger with apples. It sounded interesting to me so I ordered it. I would have never thought to put this together but it was amazing!! The burger was cooked perfectly to my liking at medium rare. The apples tasted like homemade and were in a slightly sweet sauce. For my side I had the homemade macaroni salad. It was very fresh and tasty. My friends also loved their lunch. Definitely will be back!!

The food here was absolutely great. We came in on Friday after a long afternoon of swimming on the lake. Business wasn't too busy and the patio was quiet. We sat outside and the server was right out to get our appetizer and drink order. She was very attentive and made sure to do laps to check on us several times. For our apps we ordered the fried cheese curds and the cheesy fries. For the entrees we all ordered the fish fry. Mine came with potato salad and some extra crispy tots. Extra sauce? Our server was on top of it. Drink refills, boxes - the whole nine yards. We were super happy with our service. Thanks for the great grub.

We headed to Jake's Grub & Grog ! Always a good meal here. We started off with some onion rings. I don't know what the dipping sauce was. But you could sell it at the market! Wow, tasty goodness! I ordered the seafood platter. Shrimp, scallops, clams, and haddock. Look at that fish! HUGE! Flaky and moist as well. Good tartar and cocktail sauces. The salad was good, with all fresh ingredients. Mostly romaine as the base. Italian dressing could use some help. Pretty bland. Overall Jakes is always a solid meal. Multiple variations of Mac and cheese available if that's your thing. Burgers, wraps, dinners and such. Fun laid back atmosphere. Quick Draw as well. Great service. Gotta Check em out!!

Oh my god!!! this place is amazing in every aspect!! * Food - We ordered a lot, But the Mac and cheese was Absolutely incredible, giant dinner portions, worth more then its price!! the Boneless mild Wings were good!! the right amount of sauce for a perfect level of spicy. The Chicken bacon ranch Quesadilla was scrumptious, im very glad i ordered it. the pretzel comes suspended ON A HOOK, it was very cool. (and delicious!!) * Service - The Service was amazing! our servers name was Mackenzie (spelling) , she's very Kind and polite!! she went out of her way to make sure our time spent at Jakes was cheerful. * the overall look and feel of the place is very Welcoming, The sitting/dining room was comfortable and rather inviting, the Tvs had sports and the weather, along with some car shows. there was common music playing so everyone could sing along, everyone was very friendly even the guests. we WILL be returning soon!!

Sometimes you just want someplace that feels like home...close, comfortable, friendly, and everything you want to eat...that's Jakes. We didn't want fancy, we just wanted good food at a great price, and since we couldn't decide on exactly what we wanted (after an hour of discussion!) we circled back to an old favorite. I knew I wanted their Mac n cheese (they have an entire create your own Mac bowl menus and toppings) but I also tend to lean toward quesadillas or taco creations when indecisive, and my husband well.... pasta or a burger! You can't go wrong here! Creamy, huge, and pipping hot Mac n cheese that was still hot when we put in the take home box. The 3 taco combo with chicken, Mac n cheese (yes I know I know) and frizzled onions on top were exception. My husband joined the Mac & cheese band wagon too and added fried chicken to his. The atmosphere is casual, beer specials plentiful, and our waitress outstanding. Never disappointed!

Macaroni and cheese with bacon. And a few tots I took from my husband. My god this was damn good mac and cheese.

I had the bourbon burger, which had a delicious sauce, crispy onions, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion.

The wait staff have been working here for years. We were promptly seated, given our menus, and water and beverages served right away. The menu is fulsome but not overly extensive - to my daughter's chagrin, no eggs Benedict on offer. It's your typical diner fare with eggs/omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, biscuits with sausage gravy, and sandwiches. There is a separate lunch menu that begins at 11:00a.m. which we did not look at. Breakfast continues to be served all day. I went with a French toast slam, with sunny side eggs, order of wheat toast, and link sausages. The choices of bread included rye and possibly sour dough. Some of the breads are upgrades with an additional small charge. The French toast comes with a side of cream cheese. It was nicely cooked and distinctly cinnamony. My eggs were just barely fully cooked and not slimy. The sausage was typical. My daughter had a Philly cheesesteak which included green pepper and was really nice and hot, although the steak didn't taste as robust as she'd hoped. My husband went with a typical breakfast plate. He enjoyed most of it, but left most of the home fries. The decor is country style as opposed to 50's style chrome and leather. You can choose from booths or tables. There are plenty of amusing signs to read, like, if you don't like the coffee, leave (not verbatim, I can't remember the correct wording). There's only one bathroom for one person at a time for each gender, so the wait can be awhile. It is very roomy and clean. The prices are super reasonable and the staff are fantastic. For 5 full breakfasts and refillable coffees all around, it came out to just over $62. I can see why this place is so popular. I'm betting we'll be returning next time we come down for another visit.
