I believe this place is new and may need to work out a few kinks. My husband and I came in the late afternoon, and the selection was understandably limited. We tried two donuts, a chocolate one filled with chocolate cream and a raspberry one filled with raspberry cream. We shared a large hot chocolate. I did not care for the flavor of the raspberry cream. The donut itself was just okay. My husband thought the chocolate one was fine; I tasted it and thought it looked much better than it tasted. The hot chocolate, though, was like barely-flavored water. It seemed like they used less than 1/2 as much chocolate than was needed. New cafe in Sunnyvale! Lots of tables and space. Not as vibey as my favorite cafes, has an interior that feels more like a food cafe or deli v. a third wave cafe, if that makes any sense. The latte was excellent! Better than many of my fav cafes actually for my taste to be honest, on the darker, chocolately, bitter side of things which I like my coffee to be, and the milk texture was perfect for the latte, something that most cafes aren't really consistent on in the Bay Area so I was impressed. Their croissants are not bad as well. Not as good as some of my favorites in the Bay Area, but the standard is fairly high with so many good bakeries in the area. The lamination was excellent and had crispy layers which is how I prefer my croissants. The particular almond croissant I got was a bit sweeter and less almondy than what I usually prefer more of a custard filling than almond paste, so not my favorite. I may try something different next time. This could've been a general taste preference though. Definitely one step higher in quality than what you'd usually get. They also have a selection of cakes and serve sandwhiches and food which I look forward to trying. Came here with my friend on a Wednesday afternoon. The place is so cute and well decorated and not too far from Santa Clara university. They have a lot of different pastries that I wanted to try but I opted for the mango donut and honestly it was delicious. The barista was super nice in recommending drinks and seemed to get it right for us. I tried the coconut cream latte and man it was SO good. My friend got the a pea tea drink and it tasted like yuzu. I've been here a couple times now- once when they had just opened and a second time, about a week ago. When you walk in, you'll notice the space itself is modern but feels a bit like an office cafeteria in my opinion. I do think it's cool you can see the coffee roasting equipment and kitchen in the back. On my first visit, the service was a bit off but was understandable, given they had just opened. I tried their mango croissant which was good. On my second visit, I got a slice of the blueberry tiramisu. It was good but at almost $10 I didn't feel like it was worth it. I did not have their coffee but I visited their stand at the Sunnyvale Mid-Autumn Festival event and ordered several different pastries, including a pistachio croissant and a pain au chocolat. I don't know how to explain this, but this place had the most wack croissants I have ever tasted in my life: the outside looks perfect, like it would be super flaky and crispy but fluffy inside, but when you bite it none of that is true. It basically has the texture of a normal bread, but is shaped like a croissant. Honestly I was baffled. The reason I ordered a second croissant (the pain au chocolat) was that I found the texture of the pistachio croissant so off-putting that I felt maybe it was because I had never had a pistachio croissant before and should try something more classic like the pain au chocolat (they didn't have plain croissants). I had the Mango Silk Splash! 5/5, really refreshing and perfect amount of creaminess and sweetness. I was worried as I was not a fan of coconut but love mango and the drink strikes a perfect balance of the two. A must try! Concerning the actual place it has a very bright and calming ambience. A brand-new coffee spot in Santa Clara! A modern take on your favorite coffee spot. It seems like they are still tweaking their menu a bit, but the spot is decent. I ordered the iced matcha latte and the breakfast croissant - which were not life changing per say, but it's always nice to try a new cafe in the area. To note, they don't have the prices listed on the menu for their breakfast sandwiches. The cafe itself is located on the corner with windows all around and wonderful natural lighting. The vibes give it a good place to study or meet up with friends. Parking is accessible directly behind the business in a parking lot, or there is plenty of street parking. The staff is super friendly! They can provide great recommendations for what exactly to order and check in for any dine-in customers. Visited Santa Clara from Southern California and wow I love this coffee shop/bakery! My husband & I wanted to chill at a cafe but all the ones around the area were crowded on a Sunday morning (12/22/24 10:45 am) so we're glad we stumbled upon WhatCoffee. First off when we walked in, we loved the vibes bc the area & seating were spacious. It wasn't loud & it's a very good place to study or work on your laptop. Next, we saw the pastry selections & wow they had many. All looked delicious. Then the barista guy taking our order was very friendly. Didn't catch his name but management, take notes because he was awesome! We ordered a hot chai latte, iced matcha latte w/ vanilla syrup (since it comes unsweetened), breakfast croissant & a berry croissant. Everything was so tasty! For the breakfast croissant, they give fruit & salad on the side making it the perfect touch for a nice little breakfast. I loved it!! We'll be coming back for sure. This is a new coffee shop/bakery in the Santa Clara area of a new building. I arrived around 1:30 to work on a paper for school on a Saturday, and there was quite a lot of seating available. It is a nice bright space, with cool artwork on the wall. As it was later in the day, it looked like the pastry display was not full anymore, but there were still a lot of options. I ordered this danish pastry with kiwis and it was surprisingly quite delicious ! I also ordered a matcha oat latte and it tasted alright - as I would expect a matcha latte to taste. The servers were also very friendly ! The bathroom there (there were 2 individual ones) were also very nicely decorated and very clean. Even though it was cooler this afternoon, I was hoping that they would have had their outdoor seating set up, but they didn't for some reason today. My sister and I visited WhatCoffee for the first time today! When we entered the shop, we noticed multiple patrons enjoying their purchases. It was chilly today, but they have tables and chairs that can be set up outside. The cashier was warm and friendly. We informed him it was our first time and asked him for recommendations. He was very polite and provided some good recommendations. He also seemed happy working there, which is also important to me. We ordered the pistachio croissant, berry danish, and the pain suisse. The pistachio croissant was aesthetically appealing, but dry, scratched the roof of my mouth, and the taste was underwhelming. The berry danish was creamy, flaky, and had fresh fruit. It was very tasty! The Pain Suisse was also flaky, creamy, and had a little chocolate. My sister and I enjoyed it, but it was a bit overpriced. It was our first time here at this new'ish coffee shop. It is in a good location right across from Franklin Mall in Santa Clara. They roast their own coffee, so I was excited to try it. The latte was excellent - not bitter from over-roasted beans like some other shops. What I really love about this place is that they have a menu of food items that are savory, including sandwiches. So often a coffee house will have nothing but sweet bakery items, which can be very filling. I indulged in a Monroe sandwich (pulled pork) while the hubby opted for the San Francisco sandwich (beef). Both were very tasty, although I found mine to be just a little dry. As we got these to go, a quick addition of Dijon mustard from our fridge took my pork sandwich over the top. I love that these guys offer a nice selection of savory items on the menu, in addition to the normal sweet treats. It has a great atmosphere- very chill, and the music was appropriately "background music" so you can hear yourself talk. A small little outdoor area is available too, although Monroe Ave can have a bit of traffic on it so I might be a bit nervous bringing the dogs along. There weren't very many people here when we walked in, so we were surprised that our order seemed to take a while. While we waited the staff engaged us with some nice banter, so that helped to soften the wait time. I would definitely go here again. read more

Ordered a medium pumpkin spice latte and a regular latte and a pastry. The latte came out in minutes but they never called out the order so it sat there for about 10min and got cold. We had to ask for our pastry and when they gave us the box, it had a croissant so we had to ask for the right oder. Waited a full 25min for the pumpkin latte and they gave me a small regular latte. This place is trash. Sure people were nice but what a terrible experience. So much so we told people walking in not to waste their time.
