Given she wasn't well versed she didn't add anything as combo meals and charged everything individually. The food took about 30 mins for 2 burgers and a 3 piece tender with fries. So overall the service was very slow. When they brought the food and the tray of condiments over they only had one ketchup on it vs the traditional full tray of options. The burgers were still cold and the buns were stale/hard. I will say the gravy for chicken strips was flavorful and very hot! Overall not the experience we wanted to have. Prices are a little higher than your typical food chain but the portions are larger. The restaurant is large and we found good seating. They also have high chairs available. This will be the last time ordering at the chain I used to love. Firstly, I needed to use the restroom, I had to wait for the employee that was using it to smoke marijuana. The place was so smoky and smelly it would explain why my order was so bad. I got a whataburger classic burger and when I bit into it, all I could taste was mustard and ketchup. I lifted the bun and there was a pool of each and more condiments than meat. When I took it back in and asked the manager if that was normal she wouldn't answer and would only offer to remake it. So I ordered that one plain and added the condiments myself but the burger still didn't taste like I remember when visiting Texas. So sad to see them go so far downhill. First off went through the drive through ordering two meals and a free shake i was going to use an offer on the app for. Well i pull up and try to show the lady my phone to scan the barcode for the shake, she tells me that I have to pay first, so confused i gave her my card first. And then show my phone to her again. And then we get home, I started to breastfeed my kids and polished off my soda, proceeding to take off the lid cause i was like yay i can eat the ice being thirsty and all, and lo and behold I find a bug in my ice. Just grabbed a late night bite on our way home to Dallas and I have to say I'm highly impressed with this Whataburger! First (and most important), the service from JaQuelyn was top tier. He was friendly, efficient and so polite. Second, my chicken strip sandwich was cooked perfectly. Nicely toasted and not overly sauced. Probably the best one I've had. When I first noticed the "In God We Trust" was missing I ask questions. Turns out, they aren't a Texas company anymore, but a Chicago company as of 2019-2020. I didn't think that would be an issue until today. It appears that Chicago fries soak in oil (probably overnight from taste), which I find inedible. I think they let it get some extra soaking in while we were waiting 15 minutes. Once home, fries went straight to the trash. We did get quite a show watching one guy return his order 3 times. Of course, we were held hostage in the double lane of limbo, so there was little else to do. Imagine a well oiled machine then think the opposite. The Whattaburger machine runs full open with no oil which catches on fire, explodes and possibly causes nuclear fallout. The ambience was chaos. This ain't the Alamo, so you can quit this business. Pouring more business into this Chicago company only makes the product worse and the pockets of the enemy fatter. I say this without equivocation, as Texans may speak slow but we're not as dumb as they think in Chicago. It's gone downhill since Texas lost control and it has bottomed out for me. They'll be a huge success based on name until people figure out it's hardly edible and has horrible service. This was my first visit to Whataburger. I was very excited. The employee at the cash register was pleasant. I ordered the triple Whataburger with cheese. It was almost too much burger. I debated taking the rest with me. However, I pushed through it. I had to sacrifice eating the rest of my fries to do it. Although, it would be nice to have them closer to home; I'm glad we don't have them. I would eat there all the time. No joke. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms are clean, too. People who complain about the amount of time it takes for their order to be processed may be unfamiliar with Whataburger's policy to freshly cook food to order.
