I only had time for a quick bite to eat before catching my connecting flight in the B terminal so opted on Whataburger. They were quick and the burger and fries tasted freshly made as well as having a good stock of regular and spicy ketchup. The service could be improved as the workers at the time clearly did not want to be there and the one that helped me was mumbling so I couldn't understand anything she was saying. I don't remember if I've ever had Whataburger, and I was shocked to see how massive the burger was (apparently they're 5 inches). It reminded me of a much better executed Whopper honestly. The patties had good flavor but didn't taste super fresh, the bun was pretty soft, and the toppings are visible in each bite. The French Fries were also good! Work at IAH for over 27 years and this one ALWAYS gets my order correct and is ALWAYS fresh!

This was our very first time ever eating at a Whataburger, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! We stopped at the location inside the Houston Airport, and despite being busy, the staff was friendly, efficient, and made us feel welcome. Our food came out fresh, hot, and perfectly made -- the burgers were juicy, the fries crispy, and everything tasted amazing. You'd never guess it was airport food! Never been to a Whataburger before and don't think I'm coming back. It's very pricey and all I got was a 2-piece chicken strips meal with a small iced tea on the side. It is located in the airport so I'm guessing that is why the meal is priced high. They forgot my ranch dressing to go with my food and my tea was room temperature which was not ideal. I have never tried Whataburger before. . . we don't get this in the North and I missed my shot when I was visiting my other sister in Houston last year. This time around I gave it not 1 but 2 chances. On my way to Monroe when I had like a 3 hour layover in Houston and coming back when I had like 30 minutes to run and catch my flight back to the great city of New York. First time around I had the just traditional 'Whataburger' with cheese and a small side of fries. It was so just OKAY. I don't understand a burger that doesn't already have ketchup on it. For those that don't know: It's lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and mustard (no cheese). While the meat patty is very generous in size and the vegetables are surprisingly almost fresh it just didn't taste great to me. I felt like I was eating an over-sized dog food burger. Coming back I went hog wild and got the Patty Melt and this little lad convinced me into ordering a combo meal. So I got a chocolate milk shake and fries as well. The milkshake was okay but sent me over the edge with being too full and didn't taste like anything special. The fries taste like Mcdonald's before they got too crispy and you have a few soggy ones in there still which I like but I don't like Mcdonald's fries so this is a fail to me. The patty melt was a little bit better. Actually the burger seemed almost too much. I wanted less burger and more melt or more flavor coming from the cheese. Overall, Whataburger is just okay. Massive sized burgers of mediocre quality. My only excitement here is that their ketchup off to the side tastes like 'catsup' and they have a spicy version. I had a 2-hour layover in Houston and decided to grab lunch before catching my next flight. IAH has lots of food options, but I decided on Whataburger since we don't have it in CA. There was also lots of people waiting in line, and I figured when in doubt, follow the crowd haha. The line moved relatively quickly so don't be discouraged by the line. It took about 15 minutes to order and get my food. I ordered Combo #1, which included a whataburger with cheese, fries, and a drink ($11). The burger was just okay in my opinion. It was very filling though so you'll be comfortably full for awhile. Loved the fact that they have spicy ketchup as an option for your fries. I'm from California, so In N Out is our hamburger staple. So, when visiting Texas, my daughters wanted to try Whataburger...and, they loved it! The burgers taste charbroiled and they are pretty massive. It has chopped lettuce and the cheese is perfectly melted and draped over the burger. On our 5 day trip...we ate here 3 times... Not only do I not want to even give them this ONE STAR, i wish I could give them a downvote enough to permanently shut this location down. I had ordered a #2. They put my order in the bag & placed the wrong label on the bag so it called out to another customer. That customer had taken it back to his seat, opened it, looked between the buns, & realized it was not his order, it was mine. He then took it up to the front & the employee at the front took the bag to the back, gave him his correct bag & I WITNESSED THE WORKERS IN THE BACK JUST PUT FRIES IN THE RETURNED BAG & SHE TRIED TO BRING IT TO ME! The customer even said "I opened the sandwich & noticed it was not correct" & when they took the bag to the back I asked him if that was a double cheese burger & he said it was. This is completely against FDA rules & regulations. I asked to have the meal remade & I seen all of the employees in the back look confused as she told them I wanted it remade & they all started giggling & came to the front to scoff at me as I waited for my food. The manager himself didn't stop the employee from reserving me food that has already been contaminated & served to another customer. He watched her take that bag to me & was one of the employees in the back laughing at the request. I'm completely disgusted by this experience because that shows this is a common practice & ACCEPTED from management & below. I'm doing my due diligence in letting other consumers know this location has these practices & violations intwined with their service. I didn't fly in or out of B terminal but both chick fil a and whataburger are located here. Soooo yes, I will take the team from E terminal or C terminal just to get whataburger. There was absolutely no line. I walked up to the cashier--there were 5 of them available. I ordered a whataburger and medium fries and paid. I waited maybe 2 minutes and my order was up. What the heck. It's faster than chick fil a for sure. The food was decent. Obviously, I'd choose whataburger over like McDonald's. But between chick fil a and whataburger.... now that's a toss up. I feel like there are not as many people passing through terminal b.... so the lines are not bad! I'd recommend it, especially if you haven't had a whataburger before! read more

Always drive by Smashburger during my work. Stuck in IHX for next 4hrs due to delayed flights and was able to check Whataburger off my list (there's none in San Diego). Got myself a double meat and cheese burger and a small fry. $8.65 for the burger and fries were $2.17. I'm guessing these are airport prices. I hope. Lol. Gotta admit that it was cooked very well with two smashed patties and properly put together with melted cheese, lettuce, grilled chunky onions and tomatoes. Not sure what condiments were in the burger, but I appreciated the nice mustard taste. Don't know if the buns were supposed to be smashed but it worked for me. Normally i get my burgers lettuce wrapped, but during my flight delays frustration, forgot to ask. The fries were nicely cooked, crisp yet hot and fluffy inside. As for comparison to other burger joints, imo Burger king is pretty equivalent, minus the smashing. read more

The #4 Jalapeño Cheeseburger was exactly what I expected from Whataburger, which was the first time I've ever eaten here. Not amazing, but I've definitely had worse. The fries tasted similar to McDonalds and the burger tastes like Jack in the Box. I would definitely eat here again if I'm in the mood for something quick and easy, but I'll choose elsewhere If I want more of a "gourmet" burger. It's been about seven months since I had my beloved Whataburger, so when a layover took me through Houston, I purposefully mapped out how to get from terminal C to B and back to C just so I could taste those delicious fries and yummy burger. I arrived within ten minutes of closing time on a Friday night. Frankly, a 9 p.m. closing is a bit absurd considering most Whataburgers are open 24 hours and the airport is still bustling at 10 pm. Just a few steps away is a Chik-fil-A, that closes on Sundays...why not be more true to the Whataburger brand and keep this store open at least until 10, when most late flights have begun boarding? I was the second-to-last customer of the night, but they definitely closed the line before 9 pm and I watched a handful of disappointed customers walk across to the Bullritos joint (I would have been a hot mess if that had been me). The gentleman in front of me ordered a shake and was told, Sorry, the shake machine is closed for the night. Uh, wrong answer. The restaurant is open, so the shake machine should be also. He was a lot nicer about it than I would have been if I'd been craving a Whataburger shake. Finally it was my turn to order and I had to restrain myself from ordering a combo meal with a Dr Pepper, which would have kept me up all night on my overnight flight. I also had to refrain from ordering chicken fingers or Texas toast--my other two favorites. Instead, I ordered a Whataburger Jr. with cheese and large fries. When I finally made it to my gate, I saw the long line of passengers waiting to board, so I made myself comfortable and ate my meal in the terminal instead of waiting until after takeoff. This worked out great and the burger was as delicious as I remember it. Even better, the airport has recycling containers, so I didn't have to feel too guilty throwing out all those paper products after devouring my meal. A big disappointment was that the fries looked like they'd been snatched from the fryer a little prematurely. Don't get me wrong, I love soggy fries, but these were barely cooked and had no color to them. Bummer. But the ketchup was good, so that helped. If you come here, be sure it's well before 9 pm so you get service and hopefully better-cooked fries. read more

Very popular place including for pilots, as its a Texas institution. The burgers are fat and juicy, although the quality of the meat itself wasn't as good as other places like shake shack or smashburger. Fries are better than typical fast food chains like wendys or burger king. This is a family run enterprise although the level of investment over the years may be lower than average...there were lots of former old looking locations in california (many since closed), although texas locations look better. read more

This is my favorite place for burgers in Texas! The bun is so thin and large, the meat has a different flavor, and the thin fries are good enough for me! I'm glad that I had a connection at IAH so I could try them again at the food court of Concourse B. A must have if you normally have Burger King, MacDonalds, or other similar burgers. read more
