Pollo Campero has been on my radar for a while and I'm glad I finally got to try it!!! The roasted chicken was as flavorful as it looks. It has mexican flavors like chili and cumin with a subtle taste of lime. I really enjoyed it! I just would've preferred for my batch to be just a little more fresh and juicy. For the sides I got rice and beans and they were just okay. The rice just tasted like plain parboiled rice, and the beans tasted like canned ranchero beans. The flavor of the beans were good tho. I will definitely be returning and would love to try their fried chicken next! read more

A littlest disappointed. The chicken was a little dry and not fresh. The sides were great.

The ambiance is great the food as well. I briefly worked here I was only in the training stages. And honestly I messed up and I let my personal problemas get in the way and did a no show and I will regret it. The rest of my life. I even feel embarrassed and ashamed. Of my self for this one This place takes their food preparation extremely serious The chicken is always fresh and it gets prepared and cooked at all hours of the day. As well as the sides. And the chocolate chip cookies. The customer service it's extremely great. Working here briefly. Made me realize they take quality to an extreme this is the only job in my adult life. That has a non toxic Work atmosphere. I didn't think that still existed. The Gm is very respectful and polite and so. Are the shift leads I met. During my training. In which ever case you want to work or eat here. I 110%recommend read more

See, this was my 2nd visit here. Last time I tried to defend them on saying that maybe I didn't order something good since they have so much potential. This time however I ordered a chicken chipotle empanada and the roasted chicken and rice. Once again Pollo Campero failed. Service is just eh, nothing special it is similar to any fast food joint. Food was again, disgusting. I tried to put my original Tex-Mex roots aside but with all food tasting aside, still did not delivered. The chicken was tasteless and bland, the chicken Chipotle Empanada was just mediocre, the rice and the Dr. Pepper was the best part of my meal. Safe to say, my 2nd visit was also my last visit. I may not know Peruvian food but I know what eatable food is. read more

Delicious, roasted chicken and the fried was crunchy, tasty and happy to say not dried out. The sides were great also

I'm upset I decided to have this for lunch. I'm still hungry and won't have anything till dinner. Wished they would consider clients who take there time and money to purchase there product vs trying to avoid loosing cuz product is still given out not fresh. read more

Char-grilled chicken is one of my favorite comfort foods and Pollo Campero is the real deal. The chicken is nicely grilled with a unique and zesty spice mix with lots of lime. The charro beans and Cole slaw are also excellent. They give you a choice of dinner rolls or tortillas- we opted for the rolls and they're delicious! Great sized portions, super friendly staff, and very fast service. I highly recommend them for your char-grilled chicken cravings! read more

Good food with a good value. Ordered online and picked it up without waiting in line. The side salad was a fresh spring mix and I got the avocado ranch. Chicken had good seasoning (I got fried), could have been hotter temperature wise, but that's always tricky with pick-up orders. I'll be back! read more

It was my first time ordered food from this location The food was absoloutly gross and dirty

My catering order for 50 was delivered 1.5 hours late. The sides were enough for 15 people not 50. No serving utensils. No apologies from restaurant. What a HUGE disappointment. read more

Good food for the price! They lose a star because the chips on my grilled chicken bowl are a bit stale. read more

Pollo Campero - Grilled chicken bowl - Chicken Shop Near Me - Houston, Texas

I was looking for a semi-healthy place to eat in the area....and that is hard to achieve in that part of town. They establishment gives you a choice between fried or grilled chicken. I went with the grilled chicken meal. I chose the second option of a 2-piece which is the breast and a wing. I was super excited when I saw that they offered Yuca fries...I love yuca!! Then my last option was tortillas or bread...very blah! The chicken was ok...it lacked flavor. I only got like 4 yuca fries which left me quite disappointed and the bread was store bought and looked very basic. I wasn't impressed. read more

This place is great for the price point! The Citrus Peruvian Grilled Chicken was flavorful, and the Campero Beans were incredible! I was looking for a somewhat healthy option in the Greenspoint area, and I'm glad that I gave it a try! read more

Pollo Campero - Bueno Comida - Chicken Shop Near Me - Houston, Texas

This was my 1st visit here and I came back the next day because the grilled chicken hit the spot and the customer service ended on such a high note! The service started off a bit shaky because I ordered grill chicken, Campero beans and Campero rice. When I got my order I checked the bag and I saw an order of fried chicken. I was cool about it though because it is such a easy fix. I figured they would just look at my receipt and switch it out. I think a woman named Margarita was behind the counter and she was very friendly and helpful with my small issue. However, the general manager Daniel Palin was there and he asked was everything okay. I let him know my order wasn't all the way right but Margarita was on the case. He apologized for the mix up and we laughed. I told him it was my first time to Houston and that I couldn't wait to eat because I was starving! He asked, "Have you eaten here before?" I stated I had not. He said you're gonna love the chicken. He asked the person who was re-packing my bag to throw some fried chicken in my bag as well so I could taste it. He was so friendly and I really appreciated his great customer service. Once I got back to my hotel room and I wiped out the chicken for my family the grilled chicken was so flavorful and juicy, especially for a chain restaurant. The Campero beans were really delicious as well. The Campero rice did not even make it on to my plate because my hubby and my 2 years-old gobbled it all up! Overall the not only was the food delicious but the food was GREAT! It was so good I came back for lunch the next day. I will definitely be back for a 3rd try as soon as I am back in Houston. read more

Won't be returning to this establishment, after basically being denied service (was told my food was stolen, was told my current order was a previous order) food is ok, but not worth the extra curricular activity from the staff. I'm thankful I did receive my food after an additional 25 minutes of waiting (making sure every other customer was serviced first) I've only showed respect to the staff, just do your job, I'm just trying to pickup my food and they're trying to provoke me to react so they can react (call the police) just sad smh read more

Corn salad is AMAZING! The chicken recipe is really on par, with the restaurants back home!

They need to fix their AC!!! One employee mentioned it's been broke for 2 years... food was good but could've been better if their ac was working...can only imagine the cooks dripping in sweat with this Texas heat..n read more

I am a big fan of Pollo Campero, I did not know this location was here, I was conducting some business in this area for the past month, II always order the 8 pc. Combo to take home, everything looked good for the first two weeks, next order the third week , staff was a little more aggressive, and didn't seem to be glaad to be at work, but as I make home we started dinner with my wife and daughter, my chicken was fine, my wife's chicken had blood, and it was still pink, instead of calling or doing a survey, I came to talk To their management, when the lady at the front called him out, he came out and looked at me as I was bothering him, I let him know the issue, and many people that know know I will not takE any free food or anything like that, but this gUy had an attitude, and said to me oh ok, so I asked when does your GM come in? He said I am the GM, which I found strange, his demeanor towards me was as if he was speaking into to one of his employees, never the less he offered no apology when I told him my wife got sick from it, we threw away the last five piece, nothing there was nothing said after that, he starts walking away so I asked what was he going to do about it he said; I will pass it to the top, the chicken doesn't come out raw, I said I have a pit of it, but by thIs point I see where this is going, and walked out. It took me a loNg time to write this review, I did not want to disrespect those of you who will read it, but I will advise eat at your own risk, I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Terrible food, the chicken wings are pre made and dry. They might of microwaved them. The fries come straight from a bag.

Best fried and baked chicken I've had since I've been here,! I'm a caterer from Louisiana and this was the closest to my fried chicken I have ever had!!the sides were pretty good I had it delivered to my hotel and it was still hot so yes I was impressed!, Keep up the great work! read more

Today was my 2nd time visiting and my visit was horrible. The cashier Heidy provided poor customer service. She had an attitude and then tried to argue and tell me what i ordered and it wasnt correct. Then she walked away without finishing my order. Sadly the manager didnt handle the situation appropriately. He went on as if nothing happened. No one checked on me to see if i was ok or if my food was ok. The manager checked on other customers and even provided one customer with a FREE meal after she had finished her first meal. I will not be returning to this location, and i would not recommend anyone to eat here... read more

This place has very tasty chicken. They used to have a different menu, but I guess it didn't have enough public, so they reduce the menu, now all drinks are free refill. I think they are a little disorganize because the changes of the menu, so they have mistake while doing the orders. Overall they are pretty good and good choice. read more

If you are looking for some good chicken and want it prepared in a way other than fried, this is the place to be! While they do offer fried chicken, they also do grilled chicken...and it's yummy! Very flavorful and grilled to perfection. I like the different sides available. I got the beans and the rice. Both are good, but not necessarily the best you will ever have. I also had to try the empanadas, which were pretty good. Also, I loooove the yucca fries! Sooo good! The yucca will make me return alone. I opted for the side of tortilla with my meal. It was only one...wish it could have been at least 2-3. Be sure to check in via Yelp and you will earn one piece of fried chicken (thigh or leg). read more

This chicken is sooo tasty, and juicy and tender. The people inside were friendly and courteous.

I give this place 3 stars! I had been wanting to try this place for the longest and to finally try it, I was somewhat disappointed. The food wasn't all what it was cracked up to be. I had the grilled Peruvian chicken sandwich w/ grilled onions, peppers and melted cheese. On the side, I had a side of plantains that were pretty good. Maybe I caught it on a bad day. May or may not be back. read more

I have spent most of my life visiting Guatemala and eating at pollo campero, and I'm sorry but this is NOT pollo campero quality. The chicken seasoning is right but the chicken is not near as good as in Guatemala. As if it's just the same crap chicken you can get anywhere in the US. What really bothers me is the sauces. No agridulce. No ranch. Just a bunch of odd sauce choices, and none suited to kids. Regardless it was still good, but I'd rather fly to Guatemala and eat there. Empanadas were very tasty though. read more

Totally tasty chicken. The wait can be a little long but worth the wait. This location is new but packed house when I visit. Family atmosphere so it can get a little noisy. But overall a nice place. Would definitely visit again. read more

This was perfect. Friendly staff very nice atmosphere with fast food quickness but real dinnerware and delicious grilled chicken.

I went today and ordered my food. It was supposed to come with a tortilla, but it didn't. So I kindly went up to the cashier and told her. And she accused me of lying, saying that she did give me a tortilla. I brought her my tray of food and there was no tortilla. So she rolled her eyes at me and walked away and brought me another tortilla. This is the second time I've been here in 2-3 weeks and the customer service was horrible both times. I will never come back again. read more

We love to eat here! My husband and I always use the drive thru and order the half chicken special which includes 4 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and a roll or a tortilla. We used a coupon on our initial visit bc we weren't sure what Peruvian chicken would taste like and have returned several times since. Their chicken is very flavorful! We've yet to be disappointed. He always orders the grilled. (You gotta squeeze the lime over it) and I always get half grilled and half fried. I always have leftovers! Love the yuca fries, mashed potatoes, and corn. Hubby likes the rice, and mash. The coupons are such a great deal and in my opinion the BEST coupons (compared to other drive thru restaurants that skimp on portions if a coupon is used) We love the mango drink, awesome! The words "rice" and "fries" sound similar so I suggest using the entire term "yuca fries" for distinction. Staff is always friendly! Service is quick. Definitely use the coupons that come in the mail if you are hesitant about eating here. Love this place! read more

I had my first taste on Friday when a co-worker brought me an empanada and some grilled chicken back when she went to lunch there. I was hooked on the first bite. I took my best friend the next day and now have her hooked. Love the campero sauce it is great on the Yucca fries. Took 3 empanadas and yucca fries home for my husbands dinner and they reheated beautifully in the toaster oven. They serve fresh corn tortillas with the chicken plates and they compliment the chicken nicely. I would pass on the bread they offer as it is a basic store bought variety and does nothing for the great flavor of the chicken. The only thing I didn't care for was there flan which was just okay. Service is top notch especially since this is more on the fast food side. If you eat there they actually bring your food out to you on real plates. read more
