Chicken is wonderfully crispy and fabulously juicy! I definitely recommend this place to everyone!

One of my favorite places on the north side! The chicken is crunchy and beautifully golden brown. Going through the drive-through or inside has always been a pleasant experience. The workers are always so accommodating and kind. The inside ambience is amazing. It features several TV screens and a depiction of the history of the restaurant. They even have a vending machine that allows you to get "golden eggs," which I'm sure children will love. Bring your family in today! read more

This location in particular consistently forgets to give you the sauce you paid for, avoid.

Yeah no . I asked for a sandwich and they gave me two rolls instead of bread smh . They could have let me know they didn't have the right things and I would've asked for something else but no they gave me this nasty *ss sandwich . I'm very upset about this and definitely would've got a refund if I didn't live so far away . read more

Fresh crispy fried chicken. We need to try it. Afforadable and good. They are all around

It's a Saturday late afternoon early evening and the Golden Chick located at 2824 Spears Rd. Was backed up. Delay was 30minutes to get my order. The problem as I see it is to not take my order and tell me to pull around but to inform me that right now we are out of chicken and it c will be a 30 minute wait. It's a Saturday not a Friday or whatever day is a popular day. Wasn't told so there were 3 cars ahead of me. When the last car pulled off that got their order you knew when I got to the window to inform me that there was no chicken up and ask if I wanted to wait not just assume it was okay. That's why I chose a fast food restaurant instead of cooking at home. The order was fresh but don't take the customer for granted the next time. If there be a next time read more

Golden Chick - Receipt. - Fast Food Near Me - Houston, Texas

Good tasting chicken and other fried food and sides! I also love their deals! Their prices were affordable for sure. Have been eating there for a while. The service was fast and efficient in the drive through. Parking should be sufficient, since it is connected to a gas station. I will, and have been, frequenting this place quite often! read more

I've been here so many times I'm nearly a regular haha. Quality, service, and food are all awesome! Can't go wrong with a tender basket with fries, a roll, and a family size gravy to dip! Get the spicy powder seasoning and throw a bit into the gravy and you got the ultimate sauce for your tenders or like me just drink it with a straw haha. The fries are battered and then fried which I love! Gives them an extra layer of crispy ness while the inside is tender. The chicken itself was crunchy and juicy! I get the mild since I put the spicy powder to dip into the gravy! Can't wait to come back! read more

Hands down, best fast-food chicken EVER! Every time I come in here to have some good chicken, they are always consistent. Their Roasted chicken is always juicy and the Tenders are well battered with Spicy seasoning. Their Sweet tea is a must when I come in to take out. And yes their small "sonic ice" just adds the cherry on top. As far as sides, ALL sides are delicious. The fries, fried Okra, mac n cheese, or even their salad are always good. The rolls are fresh and warm, sometimes I will order an extra to-go. To sweeten the visit, I randomly take advantage of their free Ice cream. Service is always great! Never have I came in here and had a bad experience. The lady from the cash register already knows me that she already knows my favorite meals. You seriously need to come here and try their chicken! read more

Usually, this place is my go-to fast food restaurant because of how delicious the food is and how fast they provide your meal with good service, but today was the exact opposite. I don't know if it's because of the whole pandemic going on, but I have never waited in a drive thru for 45 minutes especially when there wasn't that many cars in front of me. When I finally got to the ordering station, I had to wait for them to be ready. When I pulled up to the window, I had to wait even more because the system was "shut down." And they didn't even get my order correctly, almost giving me someone else's order. After an hour home, I was just ready to eat, but I realized they forgot to add the spice for my "spicy" golden tenders. That's was my first time in their drive thru, but will be the last. I'm just going to wait after this pandemic settles down so I can order inside and get my food within 5 minutes. Thankfully, the food is still great. read more

Golden Chick - 6 Piece Golden Tenders Combo - Fast Food Near Me - Houston, Texas

This is my 4th time dropping by at this joint and it has never disappointed me. The staff is friendly and to the point as I usually never run into that issue because I am respectful towards those working hard. The chicken is always fresh when they have asked me to wait and the rolls are buttery and delicious. I always get some side to go with my meal and I love the fries, jalapeño poppers, rolls, mash potatoes, Mac n' cheese, and the corn nuggets. To my surprise the staff member helping me at the register asked if I wanted to give the new funnel cake a try and with my sweet tooth I couldn't pass it up and I am so glad that I didn't because I'm a huge fan now. The place was clean and the music was great. I was able to hold a conversation with my friends who were with me. Btw ask for the zing sauce!!!! read more

While this was not my first trip to golden chicken it was my first time at this specific location. I have been a long term customer to the one en route to Austin and would always stop for a road snack. Things I like: juicy roasted chicken, fried wings, fried okra, sweet soft rolls Things I did not like: the actual 20+ min wait in the drive thru. Ordering was quick and there was only one car in front of me at the window but we literally sat in the drive thru for 10 min. I assumed it was bc he had a huge order and mine would be quick after but was told it would be another 7 min for fresh wings. I would have appreciated knowing this while ordering bc I would've just simply chose something else instead of waiting 10 MORE minutes The quality of the food at this location is on par w the other locations and the employees were professional. But if you're not able to get FAST food out quickly, don't make a drive thru cause the point of that is for us to drive right through...not stop for 20+ min in park staring out the window debating if I should move up a bit and pump gas while I wait just to be productive. read more

Shall I dare to say it's better than Chick-fil-A? Love their wings, fried chicken, and tenders! BEST ROLLS IN A NON GHETTO ESTABLISHMENT. Their fries and fried okra was yum too. There are currently only two locations in Houston but they let me know more are coming. I need to return to try their sandwiches out! read more

I have recently discovered this fast food chicken chain of restaurants. Having eaten at the Weistheimer location about a month ago and giving it a 5, I have to do the same here. This location is kind of strange to me. It's not located on a major thoroughfare instead between the Beltway and FM 1960 on Spears road. On top of that it, the restaurant is connected directly next door to a Subway and a gas station. It is small on the inside but still nice and has a drive thru like the other location. That night I wanted to try fried chicken as opposed to the roasted chicken I tried on Westheimer. I was warmly greeted at the counter and placed my order for a 3 piece plate with dirty rice as my side. It also comes with a soft drink. With tax the total was $8.11. The food was ready in less than 5 minutes (see pic). The rice was well seasoned and was one of the better dirty rice dishes I have had in a while. Usually dirty rice is very bland. Not here. It tasted very authentic to south Louisiana. The fried chicken was excellent and very satisfying. The yeast rolls they serve here are pillow soft and yum yum good. And all of this and a free ice cream cone for that price. What a value! Golden Chick is superior to its competition. It's chicken and sides are better than KFC, Popeyes, Church's, Frenchy's, etc. Their restaurants are nice and clean and the employees are of a higher caliber. I predict much success for this chain. This is as good as it gets for this kind of food. read more

I stopped at Golden Chick pre-covid. I had seen ads on a Texas travel television show. I thought it would be a cool spot to stop as I tooled south on 59. I was way disappointed. Not yummy. The food was greasy and laden with empty calories. Not even the soda was satisfactory. Maybe they were just having a bad day. I don't know since I never went back. read more

Chicken and tools are fresh plus delicious. Please try chicken sslad. The employees are friendly and restaurant is clean.

You know we really love Golden but we hate when we order the SPICY CHICKEN STRIPS AND THEY OVER SEASON WITH THE SPICE. They have been putting so much on the tenders that we cant enjoy the actual chicken. Lighten up please we don't need to see the tenders completely red from the seasoning. Thanks hope this brings attention to management cause we get chicken from here once a week and we also have recommended this to many friends. read more

Ordered the 3 piece catfish dinner, with Cole slaw and unsweetened tea. Got to the window, paid, and THEN was told it would be a 5 minute wait for my order. Ok...that happens. Got my order. 4 pieces of catfish, cole slaw and sweet tea. The receipt had no tartar packets, but wasn't asked about it. Got 4 packets. Also got no silverware OR napkins. Catfish was good, but the experience wasn't. Returning to this location on Hampton Rd for me is questionable. read more

I left so angry on Sunday July 18, 2021. I called in a simple order--3 catfish filets and small okra--for my mother. The manager was professional and cordial..She told me when I get to the drive through, simply tell them my name and I have the 3 catfish and small okra....I pulled up to the drive in said what the manager told me to say---well, I tried.. The young boy who answered the speaker should NOT be on the speaker. I said, " Hi I'm Karen----(He interrupted and YELLED ---PULL TO THE SECOND WINDOW!!--I said EXCUSE me?He never said another word..I said " hello???"I went to the second window and the order wasn't even taken. The young girl looked at me , didn't say hello, nothing.....Only asked do you have the 2 roasted etc etc? I told her I was YELLED at to come to the second window. . . I went inside and ignored. Another young boy walked up and was using his phone--placed it on counter and THEN looked up at me.. I said I was YELLED at to come to second window and no order..He gave me the look and stepped around the bin and peered at me from behind it.. A young lady walked up to take my order. Someone else walked in and she took them instead --because they had an online order I guess....I was listening...Their order was left without what they ordered.. The young AA (piercing in her bottom lip)manager walked by and seemed oblivious to surroundings. The office is in earshot. When she walked up to put a drawer there at front counter, I asked her did she just take the call in order I placed? She said yes. I then told her that her conversation was a "dichotomy" from service I received when I got there. Unfortunately, the best thing she could say was--"any of those young kids could've answered the speaker"..I thought Really??I thought--go to the one with a headset on?? I then actually said, "oh my goodness( about boy who YELLED )if you don't want a job quit".. Since the great review I gave about the manager being there all day and still gave great service- this Golden Chick has been hit or miss.. Managers!!! Train your crew! We pay our money and want great service! Lead your crew, care about your crew. If they are young? Acquire the skills to teach them about customer service --it'll spill over in life.. This location has so many young ones that DO NOT SAY , hi, thank you-- I may be back... Fish is usually good... read more

Worst customer service ever!!! A manager was talking thru the speaker saying inappropriate comments and using profanity! When asked for the GM and owner's information she said it would be on the receipt then her young male co-worker told us "if we not buying the food get the F*ck out his driveway!" They will never get my business again!!! I quickly unsubscribed from their app, emails, and discount program!!! I work too hard, to pay for horrible service! read more

Fantastic Golden Chick. Got the 25 piece chicken tenders with three family sides, gravy, and six rolls. Packaged beautifully, order was correct, food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Excellent service. I ordered online and they allowed me to skip the drive through and pick up out the front door (the inside restaurant is currently closed) One of the best fast food meals I have ever had. I just wish it was closer to my house! read more

I definitely appreciate a good chicken salad sandwich, people have been raving about golden chicken and I was like eh..... It's right around the corner from my house which was why I never thought of trying it, it's an odd location for a golden chicken to be at.... Anyways today on a gloomy "flood watch" type of day I was in the mood for a chicken salad.. Literally a salad but I decided to give golden chicken a try. Ordered the chicken salad meal with a sweet tea and fries. Drive through was a quick in and out which was definitely a plus for me. Got my food, fries smelled delicious so I couldn't help myself. They remind me of jack in the box curly fries but quality is 10 times better, natural thick cut fries and just the right crunch. The chicken salad sandwich was surprisingly very full, the chicken salad had actually large chunks of chicken which like I said I can appreciate a good chicken salad sandwich. Seasoning was good, not too much mayo to over power the chicken and the bread was the icing on the cake. Soft toasty buttery bread not just two buns thrown together and go. Last but not least I'm a big sweet tea drinker, their sweet tea I can sip and drink all day, flavorful but not overly sweet. So yes GC has my approval I would definitely be coming back and trying more things on the menu. read more

Golden Chick - There was more fries in the bag but I couldn't help myself driving home - Fast Food Near Me - Houston, Texas

Golden Chick food is really good when it's fresh. But lately when I go it's always old chicken or not so hot chicken. And at the prices of this chicken, noone should ever get any old or cold chicken. They are really starting to slack since the opening out here in Orange Tx. Golden Chick please stop giving people old or cold chicken . Other than that, I have no other complaints. I like my chicken hot and fresh . read more

Golden Chick has greatly improved since my initial review. I'm a fan of the wicked wings. This location is consistent. If you want fresh wings, they will be more than happy to fry them for you as long as you're willing to wait. The rolls are soft and they taste great too. I normally get the same sides, Okra or Fries. read more

It was my son's idea to try this restaurant as it's close to his school and on the way home. It was a great idea. I ordered the little wingettes combo. The wings were seasoned very well. The fries were pretty good too. The roll was hands down the best part of the meal. My son ordered the chicken tenders combo and he also enjoyed his dinner. Service was quick. Staff was kind.
