When the owner makes a point to comment on your post and then offers to remake the entire order for you! Well people, my picture speaks volumes. I met Erik personally yesterday. I came in on a bad night! The food he made tasted nothing like what I ordered the first time. The homemade sauce was great, shrimp was tasty and fried to perfection as was the fish. Oh my goodness, the chicken was crispy and seasoned well. Not too much, but just enough. The seafood rice was also good. I'm glad I called and gave it another shot. This place has potential as previously stated. I'll be back sooner than later.

I ordered the 2 piece tilapia and 10 shrimp with fries! Sooo good! Will be coming back! The gentleman that took my order was very polite! Great service! Food was ready in 10 minutes!

First time trying this place. Ordered through DoorDash. I give it 2 stars because the fish and shrimp was extremely salty. Cornmeal that you coat fish in is already salty and it's like they put so much Cajun seasoning on top also. When I opened my plate the Cajun seasoning went up my nostrils and I was like dang lol. They also put the same seasoning on their onion rings.. it was fried to perfection tho. I definitely would try this place again I just would just have to go pick up and ask them to not put all the extra seasoning. The rice was delicious! .. I attached a picture .. I didn't wanna waste my money so I picked the salty part of the skin off and ate what wasn't salty money still kinda wasted..

I was really excited about this place since we moved to the area & hadn't found found a good GO TO spot since we moved over here. The look & smell of everything had me sold. But I' m very disappointed at what I got. The onion rings were good but the burger was disappointing. I honestly couldnt finish the burger because of how it looked. I couldn't help but to think about the effort or lack there of, that went into making it. Some items from the rest of the the order seemed promising but their short comings completely ruined Overshadowed the good. The lack of attention to the rest of the order completely took away from the experience. Look at pictures of what they gave us.

I miss coming here. The wait is usually long but its worth it. Catfish nuggets are my go to but they are salty side too so keep that in mind. The rice is aight but it hits everytime.

It's says rice, it doesn't say if it has shrimp or any other detail about what type of rice.

My oldest son has eaten here before for lunch during the weekday b/c it's close to his job & he's always ranting about how good the food is at this place, so we decided as a family to eat here for the 1st time tonight via Uber Eats, I will say everything was great except the rice, my youngest son is highly allergic to shellfish & he was the only one who ordered chicken wings & rice, when he got his food, he noticed right away from there were shrimp in it (4 to be exact,) the menu on Uber Eats does not include any description of the rice & you would think they would make in known for ppl who have shellfish allergies, my oldest who's eaten here before has never ordered the rice prior to this, so he wouldn't have known to tell his brother to not order it, I don't know who fault it is, whether it was the restaurant or Uber Eats & I really don't care, b/c a restaurant should make sure menu reflects what's in their food & also check the Uber Eats platform reflect the correct menu & Uber Eats need to make sure they put the correct info on it the menu or double check with the restaurant about info on their dishes for ppl with allergies, b/c anaphylactic shock is serious business to not be careful.

No stars are in order. I can't express enough how sad this place is. The chicken is as old as dirt! I truly believe they puchased it old, cooked it, and sold it to the public. They're feeding people like they're cooking for undeserving animals. Health services alert!!! I know they're in violation. We called in our order and had to pay to place the order over the phone. The location is scary, but not an excuse for the poor quality in food. :(

    Chicken, fried rice,& fries. Yummy!

First, multiple dipping sauces: BBQ, jalapeno ranch, "Layne's" sauce, honey mustard and GRAVY!! Gravy and it is good thick white gravy! Then, you can get your tendies in a wrap or sandwich! The chicken can come in regular or spicy!! I suggest getting the chicken and fries extra Crispy. I saw they also had milkshakes. I didn't have those. The 2 down sides: the iced tea was old and had that sour-tannin taste. And for whatever reason, it was loud in the kitchen like they were using a generator. I suggest rolling through this drive through and checking it out.

My order: 5 piece spicy with Laynes sauce and ranch it ran about $14 for the meal. Chicken- very fresh they were definitely made to order for us. Very crunchy and juicy. Seasoning/Spice level- wasn't too spicy. More on the mild heat. I'm very sensitive to salty food these were highly salty. That was my only critique bc other than that they were delicious. They are also real tenders unlike canes which seem to be strips of chicken breast. Laynes sauce was decent. I tasted the black pepper. Paprika and definitely celery salt in there. Those note were very up front. The ranch was just ranch lol. The meal came with fries and some Texas toast. They also have shakes that's looked good but didn't try one this time. Now the story: Ok wow this place was an eye opener and had me highly curious my friend said u got to try Layne's chicken I'm like I had canes before. He said no Laynes. I'm like I never heard of that before. So we went since it sparked my interest we went and on the ride there I was wondering what came first? A new "chicken or the egg?" Thing. Lol. So I looked it up on AI and sure enough Laynes was in 94 and originated in college station TX. And canes. In 96 in NOLA. As we pull up to this location on 132 E Airtex Dr. you would never believe what was right next to this place. Yessss A Mother flipping Canes lol. I'm like are we on a batttle ground right now. lol. They literally have the same menu. And are neighbors. So now it was even more of a question which one is better? So it you are trying to decide: LAYNES - actual chicken tenters. Crunchy. Juicy. Way more flavor. Even though highly salty. Maybe it was just the spicy ones. I don't try the regular tenders. The do offer shakes here as well looked good but didn't try them. Always a plus for some shakes. Laynes is definitely a place to go to. Canes, Who's ur daddy? The answer to that is Laynes lol

It normally comes with their house sauce, but I added the house‑made ranch since people on Google were raving about it. If you choose any heat level, it defaults to Nashville style breading; Coop's Classic is reserved for kids meals or no‑heat tenders. They asked if I wanted to swap the fries for something else. I asked what counted as an even exchange, and the only option was coleslaw--which the Double Clucker already comes with--so that made no sense whatsoever. I stuck with the fries. Oddly, the meal doesn't include a drink, so I added an Oreo milkshake since that also had good reviews. The staff was very friendly, and the milkshake came out first and fast. They served it to my table in the empty dining room. Flavor was fine, but it didn't come with the cherry shown in the photos and included in the menu description. Worse yet, it was extremely watery--super runny, not cold, and definitely not "Frosty" as advertised. See my videos. Big disappointment. When the food arrived, the tender itself was great--moist and flavorful. The mild heat level barely registered for me, but the ranch dip was better than the house sauce dip. The coleslaw didn't do it for me. It lacked flavor, and the cabbage pieces were cut way too large. Lastly, the fries. Oh boy. Not refrigerator cold, but definitely cool. Not warm, not hot--just... cool. And ack. Overall, I can only recommend the tenders. They do sell them à la carte for $4 and change, and those are the only thing worth getting that I tried. The sides and the milkshake were just a huge letdown.

Hippo Burgers popped up on my Yelp search and was not too far away, so I bookmarked it. Could have went to the Popeyes near by, but I really had a taste for a burger. Reviews were solid, so I figured why not?! Drive was bumpy to HB, but that is typical for the Aldine area, so drive carefully! Parking lot was plentiful even during lunchtime, but I did arrive just before 11:30 so I may have missed the lunch break traffic. Still about half of the restaurant was filled up. The menu is straightforward and outlines the ingredients on the burger. Desiring a burger with bacon, I ordered the BLT Burger- without mayo added mustard. You will find that the burgers are not too overly inclusive with a bunch of toppings but include one ingredient that makes it unique enough to make a statement (i.e. bacon, mushrooms jalepanos...This gives HB time and focus to make an oustanding meaty and flavorful patty to showcase their burgers which gives it that homemade burger vibe. Plus the order came out quick! Portion size was generous and worth the price. Very tasty burger that will keep you full the rest of the day. I cannot forget the fries, which came out fresh and hot. A pinch of salt- just how I like them, which was the deciding factor for me to eat at HB versus driving back to training and risk my fries getting cold! I gladly indulged in every single bite of my burger and fries. Plus, I love that they have Pepsi versus Coke beverages. They sell one cup size for fountain drinks. Dining in? free refills! I also liked that the tables are spaced out and give people room to eat. Tables provided plenty of paper towels as well as you sink your teeth into your burger and possibly get a little undignified. No one will blame you. Good food deserves to be devoured and I most certainly will be back again to indulge accordingly.

The fries are the typical frozen shoe string fries. Service is okay; again, this spot borders on a fast food restaurant so it's quite simple service. I ordered the Lomo Saltado--tender beef sautéed with red onions and Roma tomatoes, served with white rice and crispy French fries, topped with a touch of cilantro. It was very flavorful and satisfying. I also had a cup of chicha, the traditional drink made from purple Peruvian corn, and it was nicely done. We also tried the Brasa Burrito, which was packed with pulled rotisserie chicken, queso fresco, green onions, cilantro aioli, and a bit of fried rice (chaufa-style), along with black beans, Mexican crema, crispy onions, romaine lettuce, and Roma tomatoes on the side, plus your choice of sauce. A unique and tasty combination. The rotisserie chicken itself was excellent--juicy and well-seasoned. We had a half chicken (all white meat) served with rice chaufa and French fries, which made for a hearty and delicious meal.
